They emphasize paperwork and money over the care of the patient. Horror Story #2: Chemo port moved to Monday the 9th. Pretty close race between Paso del Norte Surgery and Arteries & Veins. Absolute madness in their scheduling - picture tired cattle moving from corral, up ramps, and into cattle cars for a long, long journey to slaughter. A little background: I was feeling horrible since last Thursday - queasiness, hot, clammy, and tingly in hands. Okay, my appointment was for 10:30 am. At 11:30, I went to the window to check on things. Just 20 more minutes, sir. Back to window at 12:00 to complain, they're about to call you. Sure enough, a few minutes later, I,m admitted to the inner sanctum. Basically, I'm admitted so I am out of the way where I proceeded to wait until until 4 pm at which time I am prodded into the operating room. Did I mention I am sick? Seriously, I would have left, but my 1st chemo was the next day, and I needed that port. I left Arteries & Veins at 5 pm. By this time, all the doctors have left. A PA did the procedure. I had to go on oxygen. Somewhat painful. When I got home, I discover two vitals electrodes left attached to my chest.

I almost hung up because I thought I was calling a place to just scheduleon veins . TO much info on veins. It's confusing not sure if we the patients are calling the right number. A suggestion just have a single phone number for scheduling. If you want to advertise that you do veins do that separately. I was on the call waiting to schedule an appointment all I heard was veins and than the rest of services you offer. But scheduling never came on. Until it switch me just to tell me that they had no one to speak with me on scheduling a memogram in English. Didnt give me the option in either English or Spanish. Ugh will just go somewhere else.

Right now I'm currently number 6, but started as caller 8 and waited a whopping 30 mins to get to caller 6. All I want is my prescription renewed!!! I tried every other number to see if I could make a break through and all the the extensions had full voicemails or they gave you an email address. Dr. Gonzalez doesn't care how his office is run at all. This has gone on far too long. Can't wait to talk to my insurance provider in search of a new doctor. By the way I've now been on hold for 15 mins and still caller 6. At this rate it's gonna be closing time by the time they answer.
