I really like this place - I've been trying to try out more coffee shops around time especially the small "shack" type ones. I am picky about coffee and this is the one place so far I really enjoy getting coffee from and the bagels/spread from the bagelry are delicious! They also have a punch card program which is greatly appreciated especially for those who come here frequently enough. The drive through has a walk up or drive up options - if you're driving be careful and be in the lookout for pedestrians. The hard part is if you have never been here it's hard to track down a menu - I uploaded some pics to help others out! Enjoy. read more

The coffee was mid. But the line always takes forever definitely not the place to go if you're in a rush.

This place used to have the best mochas and service. Baristas are very nice at times....whoever the owner is should honor past punch card colors. I finally got 12 punches on a purple card which was always Holly street locations color, I finally went to use it and find out they changed it to blue and refused to let me redeem it. That is cheap, coffee has not been the best anyways so a blessing in disguise it seems. I will never go there again. Ever. Starbucks may mot be considered local but they have the best customer service and if they make a garbage coffee they redeem themselves. This place not even worth my time. read more

The service was great! We ordered 2 red Bull spritzer,a red raspberry and a blue rasberry. They were perfectly mixed. We also order a everything bagel with original cream cheese and a sausage breakfast borrito. They were both hot and they were both suburb. read more

I love I Wana Moka - yes their coffee is excellent but if you haven't had their ham breakfast burrito you are really missing out. It's HUGE (really enough for two meals) and I have to resist going there too often because, really, how many ham/egg/cheese/sour cream filled breakfast burritos does one person need? The staff is always friendly, too. I just wish they opened a little earlier so I could go there before work. read more

Baristas are nice coffee is okay but ohmygoodness I got really sick after one of their breakfast burritos and will never be back.

Stopped here the other evening to get a breakfast sandwich. It was disturbing to witness the young man reach his bare (gloveless) hand into the English muffin bag to grab a muffin for my sandwich. I asked him to please use gloves at which point he threw out the muffin he had grabbed and put on gloves to grab a new muffin for me. I only saw because I had walked up to the booth and was standing at the open window farther back than I would have been if I was in my car. They still make a good mocha but not sure about getting a sandwich here again. read more

This place is a Bellingham staple and a must stop for me every time I'm back in my college town. In the center of downtown Bellingham, this locally owned drive thru coffee shop is always busy from open until around noon. They have mirrors up so they can see several cars back and will have your drink ready for you if you're known for always getting the same thing. The afternoons slow down a bit and I believe they close around 5 or 6pm. Smoothies, milkshakes, coffee, and cold brew, they do it all. My go to drink is a white chocolate americano. They use Ghiradelli white chocolate powder that gives a creamy and rich texture without all the dairy. Iced or hot, it's always good. The breakfast burrito is a must. Cream cheese, cheddar, eggs, potatoes, and ham, hits the spot every time. You can add a side of salsa, which is a must. I always ask for it cut in half so it's easier to eat on the road. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and other treats. I will always me a Moka girl. There is nothing like your first college love. read more

I used to come here every morning on my break but lately they cannot manage the two lane drivethru. I constantly have to wait for other customers who have come AFTER me and they get their drink first. Today was my final straw when I waited in line for over 10 mins and the barista left my cup *finished* on the counter while she rushed to do another customer WHO CAME AFTER ME. I love this place!! Went here with my sister, I got the everything bagel and a caramel latte, while my sister got some vegan drink and we both couldn't stop talking about how good it was. She was excited because they have more vegan milk options than she's used to, && both my bagel and latte were so freaking good. I Wana Moka. What to say about this place. For the longest time I avoided it like the plague, like any sound human being. The decor made me cringe with terror and think of a tacky ghetto coffee shop out in the middle of no where, trying too hard to stand out (believe it or not the pun was not intended). My first thought was that it was a place to draw in creepy perverts with the Hawaiian theme of bikinis and beaches. Not the best tactic in Bellingham to say the least. Anyways, when I finally went, because someone recommended it to me (not because I was looking for some half naked barista to oogle, ya perv!) it was surprising. Beside the normally dressed, beautiful, kind baristas, the coffee was great! Fidalgo Bay Roasters makes great espresso... and I'm not a guy who gets fruffoo drinks that cover up the coffee taste. I like double short americanos, no cream, but a little room so I can sip off the crema while driving before it dissipates and not spill on myself. Fidalgo coffee is great. Now, typically I go in the mornings, so obviously I can't vouch for every barista but my experience has been delightful both in taste and in interaction. The baristas I get coffee from pull good, timed shots with even crema. Typically not a lot of channeling (if they don't clank the tamper on the portafilter (some do)) and they quickly drop the shots into the hot water so they don't die (this is normally called a "long black", when the shots are over the hot water. Rather than an americano when the hot water is poured over the shots). Again, my taste from I Wana Moka is delightful! And most enjoyable on a crisp fall morning before 7am! The only complaint I have about this place is the poorly designed and marketed shack. Many of you probably have the same thoughts as I first did, and probably stay away because of that! It would do everyone a favor if the owner would rebrand and renovate the place to keep up the rep of himself, the employees, and Fidalgo Bay. I guarantee that would bring I Wana Moka the attention it deserves and bring them more business. Overall rating: 5 my cup of joe in the morning is worth it! read more

Great coffee! I just moved here and go there once daily, but today I went there to get my regular frap and it was 4:49 and the gal told me that she had just cleaned the blender and was closing soon so that maybe I could take my business to cool beans coffee up the road as she didn't want to dirty her blender!?! Never have understood turning down business and you should be able to offer all drinks and food as long as you are still open! I was really disappointed that she turned me away!! read more

There are many coffee huts in Bellingham, and this is the downtownest of them all. Right across the street from the Co-Op, it's a perfect place to get some caffeine without getting out of the car. They close at 6pm on Sundays. read more

I am from Southern CA and got a breakfast burrito based on the yelp recommendations. I would NEVER recommend these. They taste heavily processed, and are not good. I'm very surprised by the reviews. This place can be pretty hit or miss but the location and usually really friendly baristas keep me coming back when in the area. Their bagels are amazing and they have a huge selection. Coffee is pretty good but I'm always disappointed in their red bulls spritzers. If you're looking for a good place to buy coffee in Bellingham (and, come on, who isn't, right?), try Iwanamoka. You get to give your dollars to a local business (not a chain), the girls are cute (if that sort of thing matters to you when buying coffee), wear all of their clothing (if you're into that whole "sanitary food service" thing), are friendly without being annoying, and know how to make a good drink. The drink menu is varied: teas, coffees, smoothies, milkshakes, sugar water (if that's your thing; I'm not judging), etc., and there is a good assortment of food, as well, if you're hungry as well as thirsty: breakfast burritos (try the vegetarian!), bagels, coffee grounds (wait, that doesn't sound right...), etc. Just go here.
