Toasty marshmallow latte - IG @bougiefoodieboi
    Kyle W.

A coffee shop x cocktail bar in Bellingham with creative drinks overall. This place is best for larger groups as there is limited seating in the sense that there are a few tables that seat 6+ people easily, but we went around 3pm when it wasn't busy so we didn't feel guilty taking one of the larger tables to ourselves when it was only half occupancy. We tried the bioluminescence drink and the toasty marshmallow latte. The bioluminescence drink is very aesthetic and drinks like a soda / energy drink, though it is a one and done for me as I don't feel the sparkles are the most healthy thing. The toasty marshmallow latte was a bit pricy at $7.50 but they had 3 pieces of toasted marshmallow that is perfect (s'mores like but not burnt) and there is a lot of drink. It was on the sweeter side for me. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the side but it was a bit stale, but I won't be docking off a star as there's not much to it and everything else was delicious. We opted to dine in for the aesthetics and I'd recommend doing so as there's higher price point doesn't seem as worthwhile if you take these drinks to-go

Very friendly staff! This spot is more of a bar vibe than cafe on the inside but we were stopping in for a grab and go on our way. They had a wide range of menu items and my matcha was well made. My partner also enjoyed his coffee.

I've gone back two more times to try other drinks and they've all been equally delicious. Locus is a staple for me.

Delicious piping hot food. Ordered a peach mimosa and was delighted to taste how prosecco forward it was, just a nice background of peach juice. My partner got the Bloody Mary and will probably order it again with a request for a little less kick of spice/horseradish. We both got the Hempler sausage, egg, hash brown wrap with house sauce. Repeat: get the house sauce. It was a parade worthy breakfast! We will be back soon. Go Hawks

Came here for a mid-morning pick me up. Great space and friendly, prompt service. They have gluten free items available. Ordered a rooftop chiller and was not disappointed.

Delicious smoked salmon bagel special. We had to go buy some of the bagels and schmear they use from Otherside Bakery

We were in town for a comicon and we had our puppy with us so we were looking for a place that had some outdoor seating that was dog friendly for a quick bite. With the rainy windy weather we were a little worried of finding a place but thankfully Locus has covered seating and the outdoor area was comfortable with the heat lamps they have available. We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious smoked salmon bagel special and bloody marys. The staff was sooo friendly and even offered my puppy a little pup cup of whip cream. We will definitely be back!

Came here for some coffee and breakfast while visiting my son at WWU. The cold brew with a little cream was phenomenal! The food also extremely good! Service amazing too. Will definitely be back, and I think my son found a new fav spot too.

Up and at 'em. Walking out for first morning in Bellingham prior to taking possession of our charter boat and looking for a good breakfast house. Locus pops up on Yelp with solid reviews so we walk on over. Killer little spot with some fresh coffee and some breakfast items that looked scrumptious. I'm not a coffee person but Barbro had a chai tea latte with an extra shot. Said it was the best she's ever had. I went with middle of the fairway breakfast sando with well done bacon. Portion was big. Eggs and cheese were melting (sooooo good) and the bacon was well done without being burnt. Loved the vibe and setting here. I could see this being a regular spot if I were a local.

I used Locus as a catering option for an event that we were holding for some of our program users. Kaycee was so responsive, helpful, and proactive for our event. We had about 20 adults who placed an order and Kaycee individually packaged each order so it was easy to grab. The food was delicious and prompt! Highly recommend using Locus to cater your next event or to stop in for a lunch!

This is a cute little cafe shop that offers a limited selection of food. I came here with a friend to pick up some food to go. The place is quite small. The staff are nice here. There are a few draw back about this place, it is located in downtown Bellingham and at certain times, you will have to pay for parking and sometimes parking isn't easy to find and you might have to walk a few blocks. The prices are not cheap here when it comes to drinks. Food prices are ok. Also depending on the time you come, food might take a while for it to be prepared. I came here with a friend and I ordered the Adoba Bowl. It is a seasonal specialty item. It was quite tasty. There were lots of flavor. Portion size was quite small for $15. Many of the food here that are offered has a fusion Mexican and American taste to it. I bought my Mexican friend here and she said the food is lacking the Authentic Mexican flavor in somewhat but it was not bad. Anyways, this place is not advertised as a Mexican restaurant so it doesn't matter to me. As mentioned, we ordered to go. We did noticed the staff forgot the utensil when handing the food to us but that was probably because a rush of customers walked in right at 11 am. I will let that slide. I would come here again.

HOW have I not written a review here before?!?!? My friend and I go here for a bottle of champagne every time we have something to celebrate - luckily this has been a good number of times! They were open, then my heart broke when they closed for a while, and they are BACK IN THE GAME, BABY! The food is amazing, and the offerings get better and better! While the original menu is good, the seasonal specials are what really get me excited. This past winter they had a Thai curry soup, in the fall there was an apricot and brie grilled cheese, and at Christmastime they had holiday mimosas. You can't go wrong here - they are dog friendly outside, and the service has always been very friendly and casual. I am so glad they are back in business, and they will continue to be a staple when I'm in the mood to celebrate!

It's been a long time since I've seen one this creative and extensive. If I wasn't worried about falling over, I probably would have ordered one of everything . I had the Song of the Siren, which was a perfect balance of sweet and tart without being too sweet. I especially loved the hint of white balsamic vinegar. It was surprisingly strong though, so one was plenty! My husband had Le Tigre, which had guava, passionfruit, pineapple, lime and Thai chili tincture. It had just a touch of spice and a really interesting combination of flavors. We both loved our drinks. For food, we started with the ribs and then ordered the pork belly bao buns and the hot noodle dish. The ribs were cooked really well and had a wonderful crispy/fried texture, but they were very lightly seasoned. If you really want to taste the meat, you'll probably love them. For us, they could have used a little something extra. A couple of fun dipping sauces, maybe something like a honey gochujang, would have made them amazing. Our waitress, who was extremely friendly, told us the hot noodles are one of their favorites. They weren't quite for us. There was definitely lots of flavor, but the sauce was pretty rich and dense and the dish had a good amount of spice. We each had about a bite and ended up packing the rest to take home. It sounds like it's a popular dish though, so I think this one is probably just personal preference. The absolute highlight was the pork belly bao buns. I was a little worried pork belly might mean a lot of heavy fat, but these were much more meat-forward, with the perfect crispness around the outside. The flavors were phenomenal and the bao itself was perfectly cooked. Definitely order these! Overall, really good food, wonderful service and one of the most interesting cocktail menus I've seen in a long time. We'll definitely be back.

If you love wine and food, this is THE place in town…read more My girlfriend and I had a date night out. We came here mostly for a charcuterie plate, but it turned out to be least impressive. However, we were both very pleased with the small plates that we shared: "asparagus" and "potatoes" with caviar. SMALL PLATES The asparagus looked like a salad but was a bit warm to our surprise. I enjoyed the different flavors put together, including some bitterness. My absolute favorite is the potatoes. We ordered it with caviar, which only cost $8 extra! CHARCUTERIE We ordered the imported charcuterie board for 2. It was presented nicely, but there was nothing to brag about other than that. The amount of food was right for 2, but it's because there's lot of bread but there's little cheese and cured meat. The quality of the cheese and the meat was just ok. COST We were shocked how inexpensive it was. We ordered 2 small plates, a charcuterie board for 2 people, a bottle of Spanish wine, a slice of olive oil cake, and 2 coffees. It all added up to only about $100. It's shocking as it includes a bottle of wine. The coffee was pour over, and they made one cup at a time, but it was only $3! CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM The small plates were excellent, but the charcuterie plate needs more work. There should be more cheese and meat both in terms of the quantity but also the variation (and less bread). CONCLUSION I will definitely come back here again for wine and a couple of small plates. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button! The server might have noted our anxiety because she asked if we had a show, noting the dip in particular might take a while. She was accommodating, bringing items out as they were prepared and supplying us with to-go boxes in case. The blue cheese dip came first. It came with potato chips and bread. It was tasty but a bit too salty. It was better with bread--the chips were a nice idea but it pushed the sodium level too high. Both entrees were delicious.
