A coffee shop x cocktail bar in Bellingham with creative drinks overall. This place is best for larger groups as there is limited seating in the sense that there are a few tables that seat 6+ people easily, but we went around 3pm when it wasn't busy so we didn't feel guilty taking one of the larger tables to ourselves when it was only half occupancy. We tried the bioluminescence drink and the toasty marshmallow latte. The bioluminescence drink is very aesthetic and drinks like a soda / energy drink, though it is a one and done for me as I don't feel the sparkles are the most healthy thing. The toasty marshmallow latte was a bit pricy at $7.50 but they had 3 pieces of toasted marshmallow that is perfect (s'mores like but not burnt) and there is a lot of drink. It was on the sweeter side for me. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the side but it was a bit stale, but I won't be docking off a star as there's not much to it and everything else was delicious. This is a cute little cafe shop that offers a limited selection of food. I came here with a friend to pick up some food to go. The place is quite small. The staff are nice here. There are a few draw back about this place, it is located in downtown Bellingham and at certain times, you will have to pay for parking and sometimes parking isn't easy to find and you might have to walk a few blocks. The prices are not cheap here when it comes to drinks. Food prices are ok. Also depending on the time you come, food might take a while for it to be prepared. I came here with a friend and I ordered the Adoba Bowl. It is a seasonal specialty item. It was quite tasty. There were lots of flavor. Portion size was quite small for $15. Many of the food here that are offered has a fusion Mexican and American taste to it. I bought my Mexican friend here and she said the food is lacking the Authentic Mexican flavor in somewhat but it was not bad. Anyways, this place is not advertised as a Mexican restaurant so it doesn't matter to me. As mentioned, we ordered to go. HOW have I not written a review here before?!?!? My friend and I go here for a bottle of champagne every time we have something to celebrate - luckily this has been a good number of times! They were open, then my heart broke when they closed for a while, and they are BACK IN THE GAME, BABY! The food is amazing, and the offerings get better and better! While the original menu is good, the seasonal specials are what really get me excited. This past winter they had a Thai curry soup, in the fall there was an apricot and brie grilled cheese, and at Christmastime they had holiday mimosas. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review of Locus. It is one of those places I miss even more now that I don't live in Bellingham. But it's still my go to spot when I'm up there, meeting a friend for lunch or just having a good glass of wine or bubbly. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful, and modern. The staff are super friendly. And the food. Oh the food. From their breakfast wraps to their sandwiches and salads, everything is made in-house and oh so tasty. Stars of the show also include their tasty mimosas, and of course it's my go-to downtown Bham place to celebrate any occasion with affordable bottles of prosecco chilled and ready to pop the cork on their lovely heated outdoor patio. My favorite anytime of the day spot! The staff here is beyond sweet and kind. I've enjoyed every meal I've had and have been coming here for the past four years. I love the fact that they have gluten free options and take my allergy seriously. Also if you haven't tried it already, the mimosa flight is AMAZING! I looked up a few different places but I ended up coming here because of the blueberry lemon curd latte that was featured on the menu. I'm so glad I did because that latte was absolutely delicious. Not only was it unexpected but the flavor was creamy and light. It's a little on the expensive side but it does say homemade syrup and if the curd is also homemade then it makes sense. I also ordered some food and got the Italian sausage wrap with salsa. *chefs kiss* it was delightful! I'm normally not a fan of shredded potatoes but I didn't mind them in this. Seats are tough as the chairs are at one height while the window bench seats are at another height, ok if you're tall. The breakfast sandwiches were good not great, both of ours were very buttery (or oily) not that it's a complaint. We had the bacon and the ham versions. I'm thinking the ingredients like bacon egg etc were pre-cooked and warmed up? Looking around we didn't see a kitchen, just a prep station. The food offerings looked and smelled delicious -love breakfast all day - but needed a quick caffeine fix for my drive home. I'm super curious about the wine latte but ended up getting a regular coffee drink instead. The iced Vietnamese coffee was really good but wow it was sweeeeeet. Will take note of this for when I return next time. Usually vietnamese coffee is slightly bitter so didnt think to ask about sweetness level but here I think 25-50% sweetness would be perfect! The crumbled espresso beans on top were a fun addition for flavor and texture. Just visited this lovely place this evening, had a selection of cheeses, crackers, fruit, and some soup and sandwiches. I loved the cheeses and the wide selection, they also have a delicious rosé that went with it all. The Italian Mob sandwich was meaty, tangy, and creamy with super crusty bread which was yum. The ambiance also adds with beautiful lighting, and great warm atmosphere. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, I suggest all of their cheeses, especially the Humboldt Fog if you even have an inkling towards blue cheese. The pumpkin soup was delicious, and interesting in flavor something new altogether. Locus is the brunch spot Bellingham has been missing! I lived in Bham 5 or so years ago, and a lot of the breakfast spots I used to love are gone. We stayed downtown Bellingham and the hotel recommended giving Locus a try! First of all- the look of this place is so cool. The walls are a deep blue with fun artistic graffiti. Lots of different seating arrangements- some tables and some seats for hanging out- It's a very Instagramable place to be! I've been here a few times and every time is something new and fun. I had a breakfast burrito with house sauce the first time I went here and I still think about how delicious it was! I also had a very memorable panini with gooey cheese and a wonderful squash soup on the side. The food is amazing, but I honestly love the drinks even more. Locus has a blue curaçao mimosa that comes with glitter and a little gummy shark at the bottom- it's so cool! They also make a ton of unique espresso drinks. Last time I had a revved up hot chocolate of some sort with chocolate whipped cream! They literally have different flavors of whipped cream. This place is gorgeous! A friend of mine reccomended this place and I stopped by real quick! I was staying at a hotel nearby so it worked out. I love the downtown area of Bellingham so much! I was supposed to order a wrap but I started my morning with leftovers so I was too full for food. Wow luckily for me, the first place we went today didn't allow for our 4 year old guest (21+ only). So the six of us started walking back towards the car and came across Locus, this fun and funky little coffee / wine / beer "and some food" shop! First off, they're super clean. I was super impressed with Jessica and Kaycee (the owners). Jessica took our order with no note taking at all with all orders spot on!! All the food was FABULOUS, very tasty and visually appealing. The restaurant itself is clean (did I mention how clean it is?!?) and stylish. The food menu is plentiful and varied. My grown son commented that after having the ham wrap, (which was super tasty), he still had enough room for dessert!! I am so, so stuffed after a gluten free bacon breakfast sandwich and an apple shareable dessert. Everything was super yum! I highly recommend trying this spot our next time you're in Bellingham!
