More than anything, the coaches make soccer FUN! My son always has a smile on his face, gives his best effort, and is excited to come back. They keep the younger kids engaged, focused, and hold them to a high standard; but they do so while keeping it fun. Compared to my son's club practices and other training sessions, nobody keeps him as engaged and in love with playing as 1A does. I think the technical trainings are fantastic and have seen his skills improve with each session. 1 hour spent at 1A gives him THOUSANDS of quality touches, reps, and skills he can take back to the field. An hour here is better than 2 weeks of training with his club. He absolutely loves the winter, spring break, and summer half-day camps and it is his top choice whenever we ask him what camps he wants to do. The facility is great as well, with a nice lounge area where parents can work or watch their kids. It's indoors, which is a huge plus... never any cancellations due to weather and a great way to continuing training, even during the brutally hot summer months.

I hate to give 4 stars BUT I know, or I hope, that I will get to write an update For 5 stars when they move to their NEW location in Hutto behind the Lowes. So... the 4 stars, the viewing area and entry area are so small, there are SO many kids and parents that all arrive at the same time and it's our chaos. The kids for safety reasons need to wait until their class starts to go into the gym so it's very tight, especially when one class is letting out while the other is waiting to go in. But truly has nothing to do with the quality of the program it's just a pain. There are some people that I see even bring their own chairs just so they have a place to sit. But as I stated there is a new location in the works I'm sure they have a grand plan for this issue and I look forward to updating my review when we move to their big beautiful new gym. My other reasons for 4 stars would just be the inconsistencies in the coaching staff. It seems like there are new coaches in the tumbling class every week and my daughter has to explain she knows how to do something each week so she doesn't regress. She's small so they assume she can't do something, so at water break I have to tell her to tell them to let her do it. There are a few coaches that go well above and beyond though and remember every single girl and they must have 1000 girls there. Natalie, Paige, Tour, Chamie, Bella, so many favorites.... One I feel so bad I don't know her name but she's a huge advocate for my kids to get pushed and moved into new levels. They also offer private lessons with their coaches so if your kid needs extra help with tumbling, flying skills etc the rates are very fair for that as well.

We had private sessions the summer before we came back and tested. Our son got into silver right away. He has been on the level for 2 years now so I'm hoping he will advance sometime. His coach quit earlier this year so we are re-establishing with the new coach. There aren't very many competitive swim schools in austin and we like the convenience of Nitro CP. our coaches for intro are really good too.

We explained the concerns and the reasons for frustration. He offered a free assessment session the next week. The assessment session was very thorough. The coach, Michael, was very personable and informative. Robert tapped to Michael afterwards and placed my daughter in properly assessed level. He talked again at length to explain how the school works, who to talk to for information and how to approach him for any concerns. I'm very impressed for the level of care and customer oriented approach. I feel strongly about their commitment to focus on children learning and getting them ready for the swimming skills as fast as possible. I highly recommend this school. I'd recommend to any new parent to approach Robert for any issues. He's very genuine and friendly person.

My son complained about the lack of playground at recess. The ads specifically show outdoor recess with kids on a playground and playing soccer outside. But it is quite apparent this was not going to happen when we arrived at the location inside a shopping center/business park looking place. He said they had to stay inside at recess and he was really mad about it. Since that was so important to him, that's why I'm rating it lower. They also changed the location of the camp from when we had originally signed up. I guess the church itself moved, and there's not much they can do about it. But that put it farther away than I really wanted to go (and more tolls which added up!) and I didn't realize until the day before his camp week. So I don't think we will go again, but it's fine if you/your kid are okay with the lack of real recess.

The coach pushes fencers to compete nationally but only trains them for the recreational level. Attendance at competitive practices is sparse. Additionally, he is known to use profanity in private lessons, even with children as young as 10 years old. If you are an adult looking for some light exercise, this may be a viable option. Otherwise, do not fence at AFC.

Austin Fencers Club reshaped him into a competitive fencer and march 2014 was the first competitive competition we went in Dallas. After rigorous summer camp and training, he was qualified to go to National Championship in July 2015 and placed within TOP 50s in the nation for DIV III. He recently placed on top 10 for North Texas Open - first competition in the season which scored spot for National Championship in July 2016! This is great place to learn Olympic level sport with highly qualified coaches. If you are looking into effective workout that can help you for long run, this is also great place as well.
