Stay away from this league. They just let kids play without practicing, coaching and they learn close to nothing from it. They put teams in different age group and play against different age group range from 12 to 14. Height difference is more than a foot and it's a no match in basketball. They charge almost same as KYB or any other basketball leagues and quality is much worse than others. read more

The worst experience. $200 for nothing! Such a waste. There is never a coach and my son has learned absolutely nothing. You basically pay to be apart of a team and take turns volunteering as "coach". It's so unorganized. So crazy how this is being offered. It's pretty much a scam. You show up to a field and hope that one of the parents will step up. No drills or actual practice. They play a game where no one is "out" and parents yell at their kids and try to get them to run or hit the ball by screaming at them. It would be funny if it wasn't such a waste of money. Stay away from this league. If I could give them ZERO stars I would. They are very disorganized and just horrible. I took my kids here for football and we left because my kids hated it so much. The rules change day to day, the coaches show zero interest and the guy who runs it (Scott) could care less about what's going on. They put 9 year olds to play with 6 year olds, the people who run it are rude and show little interest in your comments or concerns. We went to a better league and it's made a huge difference in our kids happiness and ours. Under the lights is run in Katy and on Saturdays, we really love this league and so professionally ran. Warning - Stay Away!!!!! Worst Sports Experience Ever. I felt the need to write this review, because my son had never played organised basketball before, and I researched a few reviews of available leagues in the area prior to signing him up with i9Sports. All reviews that I could find seemed to be positive for this program, and I decided based on that, to enroll him in this league. I hope that this review of i9Sports, can give other parents some insight into the program, and not make the same mistake that I did. If your child has any athletic ability, this is not the league for your child. Although this league in theory seemed like a good idea for a beginner at basketball, I quickly found that it was even far inferior than lets say a YMCA league (and that's saying something). First and foremost, was the fact that the 12 year old basketball league that my son joined was not clear on the fact that it would be a co-ed league. (If it were my daughter playing at this age level with boys, I may have been a little upset by this.) Practice on the same day as the game - also seems to be a good idea, however it was a rushed attempt by the volunteer coaches to cram in as much teaching as possible in a 30 minute period, right before the game. I did not even consider this a practice, it was more like a normal league team, warming up before a game. No Draft - Play with your friends. Again in theory good idea, however easily manipulated to stack teams with more experienced players, and have 2 to 3 teams with true beginner players. Questionable Rules - No double teaming, No pressing. (I could understand these as mercy rules, if a team were up by 10 points, but for the entire game they do not make sense, nor really teach your child to play basketball.) And these rules are flexible, since the officials allow double teaming at their discretion. Officiating - If you want your son/daughter to learn how to play within the rules, i9Sports does not teach this. The kids are allowed to travel, double dribble, foul, and not follow the rules at the refs discretion. Clock Management - If you are looking for a quick (very quick) game for your child on the weekend, this league is perfect for you. As mentioned, the practice before each game is about 30 minutes. The games are 8 minute quarters with a running clock during the entire quarter. The clock runs during time outs, during free throws, etc... (this in my opinion, teaches your child nothing about clock management, strategy, or game tactics.) In a nutshell, i9Sports preys on potential parents looking for a beginner league for their child to participate. It's like the drive through at the local fast food joint. Quick, and efficient at getting people in the door, taking your money, with no sustenance. At the end of the day, you are in and out in about 75 minutes, your child thinks they have played basketball, but has really learned nothing, but how to jog up and down the court, and obey the rules when they feel like it. Do yourself and you child a favor, and find a better league. There has to be other non-competitive leagues in the area, that at least teach the fundamentals of basketball to your child. [I noticed all of these things on the first day, and even asked for a refund from the director, since I felt my child would not learn much from this farce of a basketball league. My intention was to find a better league that would actually teach my child the game. The director, (Scott Read) then made every effort to convince me, that this was only the first week, and that the rules would be enforced more stringently moving forward. Yesterday was game 4, and the rules were even more lax, than in the first game. i9Sports taught my son, how to double dribble, walk with the ball, foul and get away with it, hog the ball, to not be aggressive, and to smile when he was fouled. As the other reviews indicate this company is horrible! We signed up for two clinics (4 weeks each). The start date indicated during signup was not aligned with the coaches calendar so we missed the first week. The time changed on the day of practice with no notice during daylight savings- no communication via email or the portal. My children never received tshirts which were paid for as part of registration. I emailed Scott three times with no reply. I called their corporate line and was told I would have a response within 24hrs, three weeks later NOTHING. Stay far far away! read more

This has been a complete joke. Our volunteer coach never showed up...ever. I spoke to y'all and you said you'd have someone else step in and never did. Parents who know NOTHING about basketball are trying to coach. It was such a joke we lost some kids so now we have barely enough kids to even play and there's not enough kids for them to swap out and have a break during games. I can honestly say my daughter hasn't learned anything about actually playing basketball. I'm furious that I'm paying for this. I will never sign up for one of these again based on this experience. read more

Terrible league. It's obvious there's no quality control at i9, because other locations are ok. This one (franchise owners Scott Reid & Luis Diaz) out of Katy, Texas is just a big money-grab. We arrived with my two kids (soccer novices), and there were SO many kids - just a massive group. They divided them up into three groups (good idea). The coaches didn't do any of the drills or training that clinics are supposed to teach (according to i9's website & the sales staff on the phone). They just let all of the kids play in one, big, chaotic game. Other parents there said that this soccer league is known to just be a practice league for seasoned players (which is why they do not do drills or any basic training anymore). Great for them, but not what we signed up for. Luis emailed me (after I called to inquire) & said they don't offer refunds or credits. (We have spent quite a bit of money with i9, so this was a slap in the face). I just want to move my kids to a clinic that teaches, not just glorified babysitting. There are better i9s in the area - beware Katy. (They do have a poor reputation- I was just hoping it wasn't true & took a chance) read more

The Katy Multi-Sports Clinic is outsourced to Athlete Sports, it was more like an expensive P.E. class with a boot camp feel. We saw an I-9 rep once (the first class to pass out t-shirts) and the kids were not given medals at the end. The clinic was taught by Athlete coaches, and their approach was not positive like I-9. The Athlete coaches "punished" the kids with push-ups, burpees and wall sits (this happened if the kids didn't listen right away or were not fast enough.) It seemed like a lot of the class was this "punishment" which is not what I paid for. Also customer service is lacking, and it's nearly impossible to talk to the director (he doesn't return calls it seems.) Also the leagues are hit or miss depending on the coach you get. Coaches are volunteers and given very little training, some don't even show up at all. Never again! read more
