Management is horrible. Unorganized and lazy. We've had to setup the fields ourselves and ref showed up after we started the game.

I pulled into the parking lot, with an alarming number of vanity plates, thinking I must be at a realtor convention. Nope. I was met with a bustling rink of derby practice as I checked in and made my way to a bench to pad-up. The derby practice took place next to us beginner fish. It is a sight to see, but I remained focused and somehow made it through. Sarah is the beginner's instructor, and I'll be honest -she kicked our collective butts on day one. She has pushed me to try techniques and tricks that I would never have thought possible with what little skill I walked in with -barely being able to stand and way too out of shape to consider strapping myself in skates. I will say that I left on day two having attained so much confidence that I am now comfortable going to a rink solo. It IS a commitment, being 4 (1 hour) classes for 4 weeks, but if you are on the fence then "Do it Lady"! I give it a resounding 5 stars. Wtg, Sarah! Thanks for unlocking a new ability that I thought was gone for good!

I remember looking into it and it just being an inconvenience because of distance and amount of dedication required. Glad I looked into it again, just a skip and a hop away. I can make it there on time even on a work night. For beginners it's perfect. *me, raise hand* Practice is once a week, on Mondays, 6 PM for juniors and 8 PM for adults. $60.00 4 classes. 20% discount for two or more family members. *again, me, raise hand* My daughter and I can't get enough. First class is free!!! Come try it out!

Do you sit around with your friends reminiscing about your glory days back in High School?…read more Well why stop there? Relive it via flag football. Yeah, it's not the same hit up smash mouth you were used to but then again you're not a teenager. A group of my friends and I signed up for this flag football league for the summer. It was a great way for my us to get back together and compete against other groups in a non-violent game. Don't get me wrong just because it's flag football, there's still the competitive nature to each and every game. The bragging rights still are on the table. It was $575 for each team, the season lasted 10 games + a single elimination playoff. Some weekends certain teams play double headers. I especially liked this league because they took stats. The stat categories included: passing, receiving, sacks, interceptions, rushing TDs, and even tackles. It's like REAL LIFE Fantasy Football. I only had tackle stats this season =( They also name player of the weeks and is posted on facebook for all of your friends to see. Also the winning team got tshirts and trophies. Too bad our team sucked it up. There's always next time... The next season starts, August 28th. Best part if you mention YELP, you get $15 bucks off registration, it's not much but a round of gatorade helps.

Also HSP is almost 200 dollars cheaper. Not sure why the price difference when the fields Blitz uses are pretty bad, and the refs are suspect at best. With the amount of money each team has to front for registration I would expect these things to be better. First few weeks of the third season have been pretty disastrous with a last second rain out, and a cancellation due to "unexpected field construction." They should really look into just stepping up and paying the money to rent out better fields. Overall though still a good league, that is obviously in its infancy stages. Hopefully as league management gets more experienced at this type of thing the league will improve. It's worth a sign up in my opinion, assuming they will improve with experience. Seems like a smart group of guys so we'll see.

I really like this park. It is located in Pasadena. The complex is made up of three softball…read morefields. The park is very well kept and great for big events. My employer has a yearly softball tournament. The tournament usually has at least five teams and employees from all of the Houston area are welcome to participate. The event is usally a lot of fun with a great turn out. The park can definitely accomodate large groups as the parking lot holds at least 500 cars, the only thing is that it is some 200-300 feet from the fields. But, a little walking never hurt anyone. To rent the space you would have to call the city of Pasadena. A few years back, it was about $125 per field. But I heard from the this year's organizers it was about $450 for three fields. They also have a concession stand they open for events, such as ours. The food is not too expensive and the staff there is friendly. It's funny because every time we go play, I think of joining a league and play softball! Then, when I wake up sore the next day... I change my mind. They do have leages that play in spring and summer, so if you are interested, definitely look them up. I think it's like $290 per teams or something like that. Nice park, great complex and good ol' fun playing softball!

The fields are well maintained and the umps are cool usually but as far as bringing the little ones to go not only watch but have something to do there's not really much. Pulling in the sign is very visible and you can see where to go, but the field are missing number and the bathrooms are okay I guess, they could be a lot better if I say so myself. The city could also add some kid friendly stuff to maybe bring out more families and kids when playing the game. The lighting is okay but usually there's a lot of folks out playing for teams who's around coming and going from games. We all have our opinions on things but I'll continue to go cause I love the game of softball.
