I just got from a 6 day stay at Paraiso Lindo, along with another family. Together we had two 4 year olds and an 11 month old. I must say - we had a fantastic time. The pools are great and the lazy river was a ton of fun for the kids. There are so many options of things to do both inside and outside of the resort. One of my favorite things is that activities just kept coming to us! There's water Zumba and a water fitness class. There's a fun competitive sport in the pool every single day. They set up a really cool obstacle course in the pool for kids. We had a dance party, a foam party, and most importantly for the adults - a swim up bar with bar tenders that made excellent margaritas, daquiris, pina coladas and caipirihnas. The staff here were super friendly and that goes for every part of the hotel. The service at the restaurants. the towel person, the entertainment. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our kids and to the adults in our party. The only negative I would say is the food. But honestly, Ive never had good food at an all inclusive resort so thats just something that is par for the course. There's a grill where you can request freshly grilled meats and fish, and if you stick to that, you'll be good. Otherwise, it was all subpar food. I didnt take a star away because I dont expect food to be good at a resort, and this is based on my experience. how relaxing it felt, how much fun the kids had. the cleanliness of the beach and pool and resort in general. the fun and entertainment, and of course, the well made and delicious drinks. I am going to do my best to provide a fair and honest review. However, this resort is a classic "lipstick on a pig" situation. If you value any of the below, reconsider booking here. - Customer Service - Value for your money - Food Quality I will touch on the aspects of all below. First I must say, with customer service, if a tip is expected or you are in a situation where a tip is appropriate your service will be exceptional. However, if it is simply an issue you are having, they do not care. For example we are 1 week in to our 2 week (12 day) stay, and the internet died In our room. Not really a big deal, but when brought to their attention they assumed we simply didn't know what we were doing, and didn't know how to connect. They made us feel like idiots for an hour, before they finally looked into the issue. Despite multiple screenshots being sent that we were indeed connected, but had no internet connection. It's so wonderful to pay $35,000 to stay here and be treated like a moron. For my next example, the "service" at the buffet. Breakfast service is fantastic, never have we had poor service at breakfast or lunch in fact. However we have been through now 3 dinners where a server never appeared. I had to get my own water canisters from the serving stations so that my family and I could have a drink, and our plates were never cleared. Once we were sat with 6 place settings for 7 people, and they actually argued that there were 7 there. I am not blind, and I can indeed count to at least 10 regularly. Finally the host set down a single fork, knife, and spoon and tossed a napkin at our 7th guest. Again, merely two examples of continuous bad experiences. - Value for your money ties into service and food. The food on the buffet is subpar, and always cold. It appears there is a lot of options, but they repeat frequently and a lot of the time dinner is what's for breakfast. For example the day before yesterday I had mushroom stew, which wasn't bad, but then it was what was for breakfast the next day. Not many fruit options, in particular for a tropical destination. We have more variety in the middle of winter in Canada on a fruit tray from the grocery store than what they offer here. - The food ... ah the food. I chose to write this now because my daughter seems to have gotten food poisoning from here. Initially I was going to wait until the end of our stay but I am done. All of the seafood has been overcooked and dry, while items like Lamb and Pork are undercooked. Due to the humidity the cereals are not edible, as they are completely soggy. You can't bite through it even, again we're talking cereal here. Proper storage is for sure not happening in my opinion. Things are readily available here, which is nice, however it does not make up for everything else. We also wanted to plan a beach dinner, and despite the friends and family dinner being listed at 1500 pesos on their own app, they will only offer us the Romantic option, which is over 4000 pesos per person. We were quoted $2300 USD for a dinner for 7. We have had their food, and service so this price is quite laughable. *** Edit to add*** They have now given my full name and room number to total strangers. This is a major safety issue for my family. We are also up to two people with food poisoning now. Just found out accidentally that you need to have a reservation to be able to eat on the 24th, then they told us that we also need one the 25th. So I go to guest services and I am once again told I am stupid (Alfred literally spelled open out like O P E N to me like I'm dumb) because apparently you do not need a reservation to eat the 25th. I am apparently just supposed to take their word for it. ***Second Edit*** The hotel is insistent on doubling down that they are perfect. Please do not waste your money and stay here. We were seated at their Christmas dinner, to a table that quite literally had dirt on it. The food was disgusting as well. Mashed potatoes tasted like smoke, the cranberry sauce (yes labelled was cranberry sauce) was made with Apples. On top of the lack of food safety here, they are going to cause someone to die of an allergic reaction, if not just food poisoning. The room above us continues to scream and move furniture back and forth all night and day (I really want to know what they're doing?!) and the hotel won't do a thing. It took us 2 hours to get bedding and a cot for our son, and then when it arrived it was disgustingly dirty. Now we are trying to finally leave this craphole, and we have private transfers booked. The bell man took it upon himself to come and scream and argue with me that we need to be on the bus, despite us telling him we have a transfer. Please use caution before booking here. read more

The staff was not very friendly compared to other resorts In Mexico that I have been too. We had multiple things stolen over our 5 day stay, not all at the same time. Sunscreen was stolen (they charge $50 a bottle at the store) two pairs of shoes were stolen and our yeti water bottle was stolen. All just while we were on the beach or in the pool. Getting a reservation for the restaurants was insane. We only were able to get one and it was terrible food. So we just stuck with the buffet. The alcohol is definitely watered down and they barely put anything in your drinks. Even taking shots they were way too easy and smooth.... The food was very bland and multiple people got food poisoning. Two times we tried to get into our room and our key wasn't working so we had to go get them fixed at the front. The beach was beautiful. The resort was beautiful. Butttttt there is definitely better ones to visit for the price! read more

We came during fall break for a family vacation and stayed at this all inclusive. The food is quite good and overly plentiful, similar in many ways to cruise ships. There is a camp for children divided by ages and you can leave your child most all day along with other kids, if you choose to. There are planned activities like a Hawaiian fire show, karaoke, bingo, water sports, night life- and many things are included. One of the best amenities we've experienced so far is the spa. It is huge! All marble with separate Roman baths, Jacuzzi baths, cold water baths, bubbles, sauna and a 50 minute massage that is better than anything I've had in the US , and it free if you attend a Mexican version of time share! Multiple juices are included after the massage. That was fabulous. It is worth paying for if you don't want to spend attend the presentation. Each guest or family is assigned a concierge, which helps to make reservations throughout the resort and answer any questions both inside and outside the resort. There is a swim up bar and multiple pools, waterslides for kids, and a lazy river, which you can just kind of float down and around on. The only reason I didn't give five stars and I really would have given 4 1/2- is that there are a lot of attempts to gouge extra money out of you without really explaining it very well so you have to keep your wits about you and ask questions so you don't end up paying for a lot of extra things on top of the all inclusive The beach is Lovely with soft white sand and several water activities are included- even early morning yoga on the beach. Overall a fabulous place with multiple restaurants: Greek, Italian, Seafood , Steak and buffet Great family place The truth is, although many people speak English, by far the vast majority either don't speak English who work here, or don't have totally fluent English. Luckily, we spoke Spanish, so it made things a little bit easier. They are very helpful in helping you to make reservations, but beware, be wise, don't fall for the up sells ! I am doing an addendum to the review I wrote while we were still there since we are now back home. We had to leave the resort before 5 AM and they came exactly on time to pick up our bags and drive us to the lobby area, where we got into the large van we had reserved in advance. I like to read the negative reviews to get a actual grasp on how the place is supposed to be, but I don't need to read someone's life story so I'll try to keep this short. Pros: 1. Beautiful location and property. The beach is amazing also. (except for the overly annoying people constantly approaching you trying to sell you complete junk) 2. Never felt unsafe at all, didn't have any suspicion of any staff members ever doing us any wrong (for the most part). 3. My wife and I did not travel with our kids, but I think this would be a good place for a family to spend a vacation, but there's still probably better options. If you were a couple trying to escape children, I would not go here. Cons: 1. Alcohol is fake here. You can't convince me otherwise that they don't reseal their liquor bottles with watered down bs. No way my friends and I hammered probably 8 shots of tequila and probably 4 margaritas each at the bar in 1.5 hours and didn't even remotely catch a buzz. This became the general census throughout the entire group for the whole five days we were here. Eventually had to switch to beer because I was just so sick of drinking really crappy sour mix margaritas. All they serve is Dos Equis, and occasionally you might get lucky with a Heineken, but I can't stand either one to be honest, but had to suck it up to try to have fun at my buddies wedding. 2. The food SUCKS. I heard the Japanese restaurant was good, but we wouldn't know since our reservation was supposedly never made, even though we booked it first thing upon arrival at the concierge desk. Buffet by pool is pure trash. Buffett by lobby offers a bigger variety of trash. By the last night I was ready to order a pizza from off property than eat anymore of that crap. Restaurants, if they actually legit make you a reservation like they say they will, are all trash anyway. Don't get too excited, under the sea is awful, Greek restaurant was terrible, Italian restaurant was terrible. I guess in Mexico, skirt steak is considered filet mignon because that's all we were ever served. 3. One of these little raccoon wanna be marmot things took a giant dump on my back patio which I had the joy of stepping in unsuspectilyly on the very first day. I don't blame the hotel for the animal taking a poop on my patio, but when I had to tell them literally five times to come and clean it up and they never sent anybody, then my wife went down to the lobby and raged holy hell the next day and still nobody ever showed up, then finally the next day, room service knocked on the door so I took her to the back patio and said clean that up. Totally disgusting. Again, I don't blame them for the animals pooping on my patio, but Cheese and Rice, clean it up! 4. Wife was PISSED that the blow dryer didn't work in our room. PISSSSSSSSSSED. 5. Light switches in room are beyond confusing and electric outlets don't work for the most part. 6. This will be my last gripe, but it's a biggie, absolutely positively 100% do not fall for the "junior suite" upgrade. Total waste of money, only difference is you have a really disgusting hot tub on your back patio, which if you let it run for a little while will eventually form a disgusting orange ring at the waterline on the side of it. Saw that before we even got in and decided to scratch that idea. Never even ended up using it the whole time. Sorry, I said I was going to make this a short review but ended up getting a little windy. I personally will never stay at this place or any of their properties ever again. We came to an all inclusive for my buddies wedding expecting to have great food and legit liquor, the food part I can live with, but if we're going to a wedding and we want to get a buzz and loosen up without our kids around, I'm pissed that I hardly ever caught a buzz on property, however my buddy's wedding was the saving grace as I was very happy and proud to be a part of it. At the end of the day, you just have to remember this is not the United States and our laws don't apply over there. They will rip you off at every chance they get and I feel that we got scammed pretty good on the room and on the idea of all inclusive. read more

We love hanging out and listening to music. But it was very little. UNLESS you want to pay for the shows. We went to watch a show until we saw they were charging. So we did not go. My feedback is for our vacation earlier this year before Covid, we had a blast!!! We did a lot of reading online before reserving and price comparison and the hotel is better in person. All inclusive was very important for us, we dont want to stress about a bill at the end of the vacation. There are 16 restaurants, thats right sixteen!! I dont think this is the best resort I have stayed at, I have been to Mexico quite few times to know but this one is definitely not the best for the price you pay PROS: Variety of restaurants, they have restaurants where you have to make a reservation for dinner otherwise they have their usual buffet restaurants. staff are wonderful and golf carts are always running for the most part during the day there is safe inside each room try La pagoda restaurant and la plaza were the best ones. Starcafe drinks are hit or miss depending on who is making it, they have upstairs seating area. very beautiful a lot pools so take advantage of that lazy river they can keep your luggage outside after you check out and there is always someone watching them so its great. Cons: Sunday night after concert, there rooms are outdated, designed is not the best, showers, the water comes out because there is no door and there is like a flood there. when they come clean, they dont clean right, after going to the beach obviously there is sand and when I saw them clean, they clearly didnt clean the shower because there was still sand there. you call room services and they either dont respond, they get to you an hour later, or they just dont bring what you ask for menu for room service is the same all day. You call and you dont get the food until an hour and 30 mins later. avoid el tapatio because its disgusting you order cold drink at starcafe and somehow they hear hot drink and they get upset because they didnt hear right, so they take that hot drink and just put ice in it. and it taste like shit i didnt know I had a big mirror in my room until the last day because it was hidden behind the door TV doesnt work properly drinks are super watered down dont purchase anything inside the resort because its x5 of where you can get it outside the resort no activities for adults. mainly for kids read more

Came here with my family for a family vacation and had an overall great time here. I'll list the pros and cons: Pros: - Lots of activities to do on the resort, including but not limited to: workout classes, air rifle range, archery, bingo, bike tour, kayaking, tennis, basketball, etc. - Food was better than most resort food. - Activities for kids included - Fitness center is very nice - Wave pool is pretty cool and runs on the hour for 20 minutes - Lazy river is very relaxing - Every "building complex" comes with it's own concierge who can do whatever you need them to. This is good cause a lot of the room phones do not work. - Rooms for 2 people - with a king sized bed are spacious and large. - Cleaning staff did a great job. They actually washed the floors daily. - Mini bar is stocked with beer, waters and soda. Refilled every day and is complimentary. - Room service is free and actually very decent. You can order food or alcohol through this. They have an app that you can use to find the schedule for the day and also order room service, so it is pretty convenient. - Staff is for the most part pretty friendly. - Unlimited guac. Cons: - Impossible to get on the phone with these people before you arrive and even when you arrive. Could not make restaurant reservations beforehand, but lucked into the reservations we wanted. - Mexican restaurant: Tapatio, was not that good. - Japanese restaurant: amazing show, but the food was quite salty. - Steak restaurant: was pretty good, but not the best - Sometimes the staff would have no idea what I was talking about - Towels are retrieved from a towel stand in exchange for a card, and you have to get a towel card back from them at the end of the day. Kind of annoying, but makes sense. - Rooms for more than 2 people are a bit cramped and small. The beds do not comfortably fit 2 people. - Drinks are watered down. In short: great vacation, minor issues, overall very good. I highly recommend this place. We got a really good deal: It was a 7 day all-inclusive vacation with roundtrip flights from Toronto, for two people. The total cost was around $1300 CAD after discounts and points. I highly recommend going on the off season. We went in October. The complex has several accommodation levels, in ascending order (from lowest to most expensive): Playa, Del Mar, Lindo, Maya, and Grand. As Lindo guests you can access the public grounds, and use amenities (such as pools) from Playa & Del Mar & Lindo. However you cannot use the pool and theatre from Grand. We went by their pool and it was actually smaller than the Lindo pools, so really we didn't miss out on anything. You can make 1 reservation at a Maya restaurant. There's a free bike tour you can do of the whole resort grounds, which I highly recommend. There's a shuttle that goes to Playa del Carmen. There was also a convention center on the resort grounds, and the World Kickboxing Championship was going on at the time, so we got to see a few matches! Accommodations of Paraiso: Our room as clean, cool and comfortable. The AC worked perfectly. They restocked our shampoo and soap on request, and added some natural bug repellant wipes (but you gotta bring your own too, because the hotel's wipes are tiny). We walked into the Grand accommodations and they were super luxurious, but obviously they cost a lot more than the Lindo rooms. Food: It's resort food, i.e. not authentic Mexican food. Some of it was mediocre, but some of it was really good! There's so much variety you can try a little bit of everything. I had a lot of mussels and smoked salmon. We had different restaurant reservation on 4 nights, and the other nights we went to different buffets on the hotel grounds. Also, I suggest you bring PESOS instead of dollars! Especially at Playa del Carmen. At the hotel grounds, you can tip in Pesos if you'd like. Don't buy anything at the Iberostar gift shops! Buy things at Playa del Carmen instead. We got our pesos exchanged in Canada, at a really good rate, almost market-rate (check xe.com). DO NOT exchange at the airport! You'll get like 25% less. The booze was obviously watered down with juices, but it wasn't an issue for us since we weren't looking to get drunk. My favourite drink was the mojito with fresh mint. If you want a top shelf liqueur just point at it, and leave a tip. The mosquitoes come out AT NIGHT (and sometimes sundown), so keep that in mind, bring insect repellent. Also there's some lemur-looking animals, I think called Coati. They're cute and not aggressive, but don't feed them! If you have food at the beach and leave your table unattended, the Coati will steal your food. Throughout the grounds, there were also LOTS of peacocks, flamingos, a few iguanas, and a few cats, lots of birds. All very chill. We were never attacked by any animals. read more

That is almost $11k they had. Multiple calls and everyone has different answers. Sent me "proof" of refund and it makes no sense. Canceled entire trip (Xmas gift) because now don't trust them. They did refund the new amount though so now just have to wait for cc to fight for the $4800. I don't recommend at all! read more

First time here at iberostar my friend had been here twice before and highly recommended this resort which is why I decided to come here. I was told there was top shelf liquor and 24/7 room service. To my surprise they were no longer offering 24/7 room service and they never had don julio which is my liquor of preference. I was made aware the room service was available until 11 pm due to covid staff cuts that they had made. My last day at this resort I made an order at 1050pm and they told me they would deliver in 45 min. 55 min had passed i called the front desk to follow up on my order I spoke with the front desk and she said that they had knocked on the door and called the room. Of course that was not true because I was here along with my 3 friends I came with. I then requested to speak with the manager Arturo Diaz and unfortunately they were unable to correct the situation. I am now going to sleep hungry (in an all inclusive hotel) and upset that I spent so much money in this resort. I was expecting an amazing experience but now I'm leaving with a sour and bitter experience about this resort. read more

I was there for a week and I absolutely loved it. The complex includes 4 Iberostar hotels. The pool is shared with Paraiso Maya which doesn't matter because it is huge. The facilities of Paraiso Beach and one other can be used as well. The whole complex is beautiful and very clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. In every room building they have extra concierges who can help you with almost everything. Now to the important part: the food. There is one big restaurant which serves buffet and 4 theme restaurants. All of them serve breakfast and lunch as a buffet. On the beach they have a buffet as well and a special every day (e.g. a huge pan of paella). There are also small snack bars at the shopping complex. I am usually not a buffet type but I absolutely loved this one. There is something new every single night and if you are not able to find something delicious each night I don't know how to help you. They have a large variety of fish, seafood, different meats and every night a different theme. They have pizza and burgers every night and a Mexican stand. First night they had a whole red snapper in a salt crust and yesterday it was rib eye steak. I read through the other reviews and I really do not agree. I have been in a lot of hotels with buffet and I usually get tired after the third night but here not at all. Room service and a mini bar are also included in the all inclusive package. If you like entertainment there is something going on all the time. If you don't, you can still find a more quiet place at the pool or beach. Also the whole complex has free WiFi now and you can get the password from the concierge. Like I said before this was one of the best resorts I have been too and I have been to some around the globe. read more

This was the first all-inclusive resort that I have ever been to. I chose it based on good reviews the Trip Advisor website had and it lived up to all of the good things people said. The staff were all very helpful and surprised me with how many of them spoke decent English. My favorite restaurant was the Japanese one. It was hibachi style and they put on a great show. If you go here I also recommend drinking a few Speedy Gonzalez's, also known as a Sammy Sosa. I hope to be going back soon! read more

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos is one of five resorts but does not have the massive feeling - more like an intimate, connected jungle feel with beautiful grounds and beach. The lobby area and grounds are gorgeous with a tropical feel throughout, beautiful teak, polished wood walkways through pools with fountains, large lobby areas with two to three story thatched roofs, pools that are adorned with chairs and thatched cabanas providing needed The rooms are for the most part are clean but small. Beds are not firm. Mini-fridge is stocked with with water, soda and beer. You have access to a set number of a la carte restaurants: Cajun, steak, Japanese, Italian and French as well as two buffets for the mornings and lunch with one by pool and one by lobby. The great: the grounds are beautiful, lots of activities either at pools or beaches. Wifi is free throughout the resort. The bad: the food is consistently average to below average with some things being inedible. Two of my sons got food poisoning/bug and were knocked out in bed for 24 hours straight. Not sure what the culprit was, especially since they never get sick. At the pool areas every cabana has a sign on the post that reads it is strictly forbidden to reserve the chairs and any items left unattended for an hour or more will be removed. Unfortunately, enforcement of this rule never seemed to happen and each morning there were hardly any chairs available. Pool bars closed at 5 which seemed early. Lazy river and wave pool also closed at five. Kids thought both the wave pool and lazy river were boring but they are in 14-17 age range. I think both are geared to younger kids with the lazy river smaller than most. The shows: mixed results... one was ok and the other was pretty bad. The disco for kids: long walk, went twice, large Star Wars themed disco with good dance floor. Only issue, no guests there so ended up leaving. At the lobby bar I watched a bartender mixing a pitcher of what looked like margarita mixer and dip a spoon in several times to taste it - same spoon = yuck! In conclusion: sometimes I get the feeling Iberostar caters to people who will eat anything, caring less about the quality in order to have access to the unlimited liquor, food, pools, beach and Mexican Riviera vibe. Guests overlook some things and still manage to have great times with family and friends. Or other guests are truly fine with the quality of everything and make the most of their experiences. Beautiful resort/grounds. Unfortunately, that's the only pro. No elevators in building 51, did not have a room with 2 beds available first night (4 in group/1 handicap). We moved to first floor on second day but had to have the room sprayed due to ants. This only lasted 2 days and then they came back. Bartenders were rude, waiters were a hit or miss. The hotel was amazing! I will list positives and negatives as to why it only for 4 stars. Positive: If you are going with kids this is the place. Very kid friendly with many activities to do for the kids. The staff is wonderful. The beach is very nice and clean with great services. Negatives: The food could have been better especially with varieties for toddlers who are accustomed to finger foods. Also when you ask for juices you are thinking you are getting fresh juices but you get the most fake tasting concentrates that are awful. The different activities they offer outside of the resort are a rip off. They tell you that certain things are included and when you get to your destination it is not included. When you are eating at a restaurant or buffet, it takes a while for the waiter to bring you drinks even though you see a million of them walking around not doing much! Had bad customer service from the first day on a family of 8 vacation. 1st problem was that rooms where not ready when promised. Lost the first day waiting for rooms. Front desk blamed that there guest did not check out on time ( guess no Covid room policy in effect) 2nd hotel misleading on restaurants reservation. Only got to eat at two of the twelve restaurants. So don't fall for the rest restaurants sale adds only half true. Last get everything in writing / email , there company sale / book service will tell you and promise that Covid test are covered and when you get to your hotel 2nd day you will be told policy have change and will charge you person. Horrible experience!! Staff and restaurants. Everyone is rude and act like we're bothered them with any questions we had. The app they recommend when you get there doesn't work. When you try to reserve a dinner or lunch at a restaurant it says there all booked but when you go in person the restaurant is empty! They have more staff at the restaurant then people eating but they still insist they their booked. We tried to ask nicely if they can accommodate 4 people and after I called them out on the empty tables the host said it was because they've been over worked all and they were to tired to help us out with dinner. Also if you can't book anywhere to eat the host said basically you have to go to sleep hungry and try again tomorrow. The rooms are mediocre at best and they noise is ridiculous they start cutting grass at 7 in the morning and this place echos. Beds are uncomfortable and room service is a joke. All the food take 45 mins and get to your room cold. I'm sure you'll be seeing more reviews like this. I was talking to everyone at the pool and everyone had the same complaints. Paraiso Lindo is 1 of 3 properties forming a huge complex. The Beach and the Grand are the others. The property itself looks beautiful! It's expansive and rich looking. However there are definitely some maintenance issues that could be addressed. Some of the walkway lights were out along the way to our building. Not as many to make it hard to see but definitely noticeable by their absence. Going to breakfast in the am we noticed areas where large items of debris were swept to the drain grates and then left, not picked up too be thrown away. The staff did not clean under the beds well. The reason I know this is I was looking under them for my hat that I may have lost but am 80% sure was "liberated" from my room. The staff you have direct interactions with are all friendly and helpful but the ones you have indirect interactions with, just walking about the grounds are often diffident which is quite different from other resorts I've been to. The exception is the waitstaff. Among the least friendly staff I've ever interacted with. When asking simple things like for ketchup at a meal they often seemed like you were asking them for an arm and a leg and I saw a couple actually roll their eyes! Except for Miguel in the buffet restaurant. Exceptional!! Always smiling, friendly and attentive. Look for his Mohawk and you can ask for his section to be seated in. The first 2 nights we ate dinner at El Fogon the steakhouse. This is an ala carte restaurant but not really. The entrees themselves are ordered off the menu and come with corn on the cob, chipotle mayonnaise, and baked potato with sour cream. Despite previous reviews, out of 4 instances of ordering the tenderloin, only one persons was overdone. The ribeye and the archalata however we're over cooked past medium rare, and rare respectively to a medium. The baked potato's were under cooked. The ribs were atrocious, tough, very sweet sauce, and difficult to call edible. Don't sit by the windows if they are cracked open as the mosquitoes from the Grove to the beach bit us up both nights. We also ate at the Japanese restaurant which was great! . . .and the Mediterranean which should have been from what we heard about big lobster tails that people couldn't finish. What we actually got was maybe a third of a lobster tail that was attached to an inch wide strip of shell that had been cut down. What! We ordered a second serving and the waiter was mumbling under in his breath in English to be SURE we heard him. I'm sorry but as much waiter it's not for you to criticize ANYTHING I decide to order at your allegedly ala carte restaurant with everything served off of buffet trays except the entree. I'm going to get my salad, I'm going to get my appetizers, I'm going to get my dessert. You are bringing me one dish and my drinks and yes after a day in the sun I'm getting multiple drinks. There is only one pool bar for all the pools and the Jacuzzi tubs are not heated and actually colder than the main pools. The beach is wonderful with beautiful sand and blue water. They have a snack stand that cooks burgers fries and such all day long and for lunch each day they made paella in a huge pan I mean like 10 feet around easily! Careful in the shower. .the water was always hot which was great, but all of a sudden it would become SCREAMING hot so as to be painful, especially if at all sunburnt. Concierge staff were always great and will happily order a cart for you from one side of property to room or shopping center. Lomas and Iberostar shuttles and taxi staff were great as well! Overall, while the basic amenities that are available and the physical surroundings make this a 5 star resort, the actual service and quality of food and maintence compel me to give only 2 stars for this review. read more

I will preface my review with the fact that I am not really an all inclusive resort type of guy. I spent a week at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo with my Mother, Sister and her family. The ages ranged from 5 to 76, which is a broad spectrum to please. Overall it was a very relaxing vacation on a beautiful property for a decent price. Rooms Overall adequate but with shoddy finish. Outlet in bathroom kept falling out as did light in ceiling. Speaking of electrical outlets there were very few present. The tub seemed to be placed backwards. I had to tilt my head back to get it under the shower head. The toilet made a lot of noise but just didn't seem to want to flush. AC worked fine and beds comfortable so in the end no real issues. Internet was free in room which was nice Beach The sand was very soft and powdery like a great beach should be. There was plenty of lounge chairs and pilapas but it's annoying that most have towels on them by 7:45 AM to reserve them for later. There is a no reserving policy but not at all enforced. The sooner you realize this and start playing the reserve game the better off your spot will be. Waves were decent for body surfing but there was a lot of seaweed that on some days making the ocean quite undesirable. There is ample food and beverages on the beach Pools Large and numerous. Very clean and inviting. Swim up bar a nice addition as is wave pool and lazy river. Water was on cooler side but not prohibitive. Now for the what were they thinking. The only main pool bar is swim up. If you aren't willing to get wet you are not getting a drink unless you go to the wave pool or in the buffet to their bar. In the middle of the pool there is an island that has two circular jacuzzi tubs. Notice I didn't say hot because the water is as cold as the regular pool. Hot tubs would have been nice and people may then have actually got in them. Food Overall not this resorts strong suit. They have two buffets and multiple sit down restaurants that are all reservation based. Reservations seemed to go quick but the restaurants were never more than half full. Seemed to be a commodity that was being rationed. Buffets were repetitive and average at best. Everything was bland and seemed to be all frozen/bulk. Service at breakfast buffet was slow but at restaurants was excellent. Best restaurants were El Fogon Steakhouse and the Hibachi Grill. The Cajun, Gourmet and Mediterranean Restaurants were all forgettable The staff was always friendly, hard working and willing to help. Communication was not a problem read more

While we had a rough start. I will try to give the highlights and low lights of this place. Rooms Pretty average. Make sure to check everything first before you go to use it. Don't lock yourself out on your patio they auto lock Food Buffet not so great but the restaurants are spectacular. Make sure you learn the hours of the buffets they open and close all the time. Way to many kids in this hotel!!! If you like dirty diapers sitting outside in the hallway for hours this place is for you. Every single towel they gave us was covered in stains including the bed sheets. They limit you to one beach towel a day. Room service says it's a 45 minute wait uhhh no it was never less than an hour an a half If your lucky. Beach is dirty an your solicited every two minutes by locals trying to sell you junk. All the rest of the resorts have security to keep them out. One day we had no hot water (because there is way to many people in this hotel). My dad has to sleep with a breathing machine well only one light socket worked An to keep the socket turned on you had to leave the bathroom lights on. Every corner of the hotel they let people smoke even in the lobby!!!! The food is absolutely horriable all prepackaged bag stuff. You have to wear sandals in your room because the floor is filthy(the pic I posted is a pic of my brothers foot right when he got right out the shower). If I were able to give this resort higher than a 5 Star I would!(: to begin with I hosted my wedding at the Iberostar Paraíso Lindo, July 2 2018! Carmen the wedding planner was the best thing out of this whole experience, Carmen made my dream wedding come true, not only was she very professional but she connected with my mom and I and cared about every single detail. Carmen stayed in contact with us through the whole process, she was an incredible wedding planner and became a friend The night before our wedding I was adding new things to the wedding reception and Carmen came though, she kept me calm and told me everything was going to be ok, she had everything under control! I truly don't know how she does it! She was amazing!! She was in charge of everything the whole day! She was my other half making sure everything was right and perfect! As far as the resort, I would honestly go back, the food is good, and the rooms are very nice and tropical, but overall the reason I would go back is because of the Iberostar peers, they are very attentive and sooo polite! I very rarely write reviews (this is only my second one in years) but I wanted to make sure to give this resort five stars! We came here in October for our friends wedding. It's a wonderful resort and like the other reviews I completely agree with how beautiful and clean everything is. Plus, we loved the food! There were plenty of options, changing each day and it was very easy to eat healthy while also indulging. One of the main things I wanted to comment on was the fitness facilities. I had looked online ahead of time and saw there were some classes I could take to help stay in shape with all of the extra eating and drinking that surely would be happening. The fitness center itself was pretty impressive with multiple types of cardio machines, full weight lifting area with wracks, free weights, assisted machines, etc. I show up on the first day ready to take a Boot Camp class. Now since this is at a resort, I'm thinking it going to be some easy class where I'll work up a little sweat but not really have a hard time. Boy was I wrong! This was one of the most intense workouts I have done in a while! I consider myself a pretty fit person working out most days of the week and participating in races, triathlons, etc. The instructor informed me this was a new program called StarFit. I was hooked. During our week long trip, it ended up raining every single day, all day. Yes, even on their wedding day! However, this made it very easy for me to take a class or do my own workout every day! I even convinced some of our group to join me. Again, these are some fit people - and they all agreed that these classes were intense but awesome! I ended up having the same instructor for the boot camps and TRX classes I attended, he was motivating and energetic. I believe his name is Eric. I wish I had made time to do their other classes like Spin and Yoga. They also had Zumba classes! I hope this program stays around and is all all Iberostars! Despite the 5 star status this place is not up to its reputation . The quality of the food is so so. The alcohol is suspicious. Each drink tastes different and weird. I would avoid mixed drinks. Order beer or wine in bottles. The staff was ok but other Mexican resorts have better service, food and alcoholic drinks! Beds were ok. Hot water intermittently cut out. I had to get my appendix taken out before I could fly back home. Hi guys! Let me start off by saying that last year my girlfriend and I visited Iberostar in Cancun, and that vacation was AMAZING! The staff, service, cleanliness, food, music, drinks, and entertainment was all incredible! Therefore, we decided to continue vacationing in Iberostar resorts. This year we went ahead and booked a vacation in Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Riviera Maya: about 30-40minutes away from the Iberostar that we were in last year. Our experience was terrible! We will NEVER go back to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Riviera Maya. The staff was rude, I'm assuming it was an understaff issue, the cleanliness was poor (hotel, pools), the food was poor (stomach aches), and again the staff was rude and clueless on providing directions! This whole vacation was a disaster! We arrived to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo on a Sunday morning, 11:00am to be exact. The guy that dropped us off was asking me for a tip as he was bringing out my laguage out of the trunk. Now, I had plenty of single US dollars because I love to tip. I understand that through tips is how staff make a huge part of their living. However, please do not ask me to tip you, I will tip you as soon as you give me my laguage. Next, we begin to push our laguage towards the guy in the lobby whom seemed very frustrated and extremely busy. I tell him that we have just arrived and need to check in. He proceeds to state "okay", he takes my laguage and begins to talk with another one of his coworkers. Now, I speak, read, and write Spanish very well but you would not know that by looking at me. So, I understand everything that the staff is saying! I proceed to ask him where is the check in area. If you have never been to this resort before it takes a day or two to begin adjusting to where everything is. Therefore, we had no idea where to go. He goes on to say, "go that way to check in" as he points to some doors. In my head I'm thinking wow this guy needs more help in the front. Not a very good impression but that is okay. My girlfriend and I continue to go through two doors into the check in lobby. We waited about 20min in line to be able to speak to a representative in the check in desks! It was still early in the morning so the representative goes on to state that check in time is not until 3:00pm. I go on to tell her that it is okay. We asked where is the nearest buffet because at this point we are hungry. She hands me a map and states that everything in the resort is in the map. So basically, figure it out yourself! We walk out the lobby with our laguage, and try to find our way to the buffet. We ask a staff member how to get to the buffet and he states, "go straight." We keep walking straight and see nothing until we asked another staff member and he could provide better directions. We get to the buffet that is located all the way in the end by the last pool. It was terrible! The pasta tasted nasty! Very little options to choose from, and it was hot in there! The place looked dirty. We decide to leave this buffet and walk over to the next one which is right across from the pool. We get there and go about 10minutes without anybody offering us a drink. This buffet did have more options compared to the previous one but nobody came to our table the entire time that we were there to check on us or give us any drinks or napkins! Terrible service! Trust me guys at the Iberostar in Cancun you will never run into any of these issues. Anyways, we finish and leave this buffet. It is almost 3:00pm so we head back into the check in lobby. Again, huge line! When we finally get to speak to a representative they state that our room is not ready! It was already five minutes past 3:00pm. So, we wait another 10-15minutes. Again, the room still is not ready so we wait another 10-15minutes! I start getting frustrated because at this point we just wanted to get into our bed and relax for a bit we were very stressed. When our room is finally ready the guy hand me a card with a room number and key card. He states, "this is your room." In my head I am thinking like what do I do now go and look for the hotel myself! The representative starts talking with other customers so I interrupt and say excuse me which way do I go! He tells me to go back out to the front lobby. I get to the front lobby the guy is still very busy! He tells me a little golf cart will take me but he will have to send my luggage later in another cart! I tell him no because we need the stuff in the luggage to get comfortable in our hotel room. He promises he will send it in the next golf cart that rolls around. So, we go to our hotel, the bed sheets are dirty!!!! The room is hot!! The A/C was off!! The weather was 88F and humid outside! It is common sense to leave the A/C on! We decide to rest a bit and head out to the pool. The pool had dead flies floating around! Disgusting! We had a reservation for the steakhouse that night. Again, the servers provide horrible service. Where do I even start?! 1. When I initially booked the trip, I read very carefully and spoke with someone over the phone who informed me that no matter which Iberostar location I stayed in, I would have access to the lazy river/kids camps/wave pool. THIS IS NOT TRUE. As a result I found out upon arrival that I would not have access. We paid $400 to "upgrade" from our junior suite at Paradiso Beach to a standard room at Paraiso Lindo for the additional amenities. 2. We were put in two corner rooms on the first floor, across from the housekeeper's closet and behind the stairwell. Room was full of ants, the bathtub had dirt and stains, and the floor was dirty. The next day, we complained to the front desk, who directed us to Julia, who referred us back to Paradiso Beach to Angelica and Michelle. Angelica moved us to rooms on the 3rd floor that were much better. 3. We were told we had $400 in resort credits to "use at our leisure." THIS IS ALSO NOT TRUE. It is $400 in $20-25 coupons to apply to various things around the resort, like spa, dinner, etc. 4. My mom's luggage did not arrive...we checked with the front desk. They do not know anything about the Cancun airport--not even the phone number. They suggested that we wait until the next morning and go to the airport (a 30 min taxi) in person to see about the bag (WHY?!?!). The US line for the airline said they would deliver the bag the next day around 3pm. After googling, spending money on clothes for mom, we went back to the front desk with a local phone number for the airport and asked them to make contact and confirm the delivery. TWO DAYS into our vacation at this point, the airport employee confirms that she has had the luggage in her possession the whole time and contacted the hotel, but refused to deliver the bag until we paid her $40 cash in American dollars (very specific request). We paid and finally get the bag around 6pm. 5.On this same day, we also took an excursion to Xplor, which we booked through Iberostar directly. The day went great until we were returning to the hotel on the bus. The bus driver stopped to Del Mar and Paradiso Beach, but then took off to leave the resort. We alerted him that he missed Paraiso Lindo and he stopped in the middle of the street, opened the door, and told us to get off. We did not and asked him very nicely to bring us back to the front of our hotel. He didn't respond. He dropped everyone else off, came back past our hotel on the main freeway, pulled over again and told us to get out on the opposite side of the highway from our resort (even worse location than the first stop). I refused, he refused, we argued, and then he took off driving again with us still on the bus. My husband made him pull over and let us off since we didn't know where he was taking us. He left us on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, with a child, and screamed at us. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS). The bus company is AutoTur, bus 7987, license plate is 86-RA-8K. Guy refused to tell us his name, but I got his picture. We then called the resort and asked them to send someone to pick us up. For whatever reason, they could not google the places to find a nearby address and said that they didn't know what to do. We had to look up the address of a nearby hotel and send it to my mom (thank God she was at the hotel) and my mom had to bring it to someone at the front desk so they could send a taxi, which cost us $30 on top of the $30pp transportation we paid for. We didn't even get an apology. We filed a "complaint" with Paz Camacho at the tour desk and she claimed she would try to get our money back and do something about the guy, but of course we never heard from her again. 6.After all of this... I went to pack up the last day and discovered that someone (likely housekeeping) stole my Nike zooms with my running inserts in them (~$300) and a pair of heels I'd brought. Front desk and housekeeping knew nothing (of course). 7.Many of the nice amenities they had, like the cigar bar, tequila tastings, etc. we didn't find out about until the 3rd day because no one communicated them or could even tell us how to get there.They just kept telling us to download the Iberostar app, which froze and didn't have any details most of the time. So, total, we're out of over $1000 we didn't expect to spend and the hotel staff were basically no help at all. I never write bad reviews like this (or at all), but this was just unbelievable! I will NEVER stay at an Iberostar resort again in my lifetime and I will make sure that none of my friends/associates do either. read more

An all inclusive with a very tropical theme. Architecture emulates a colonial style with hints of pre hispanic replicas as decorations. The Iberostar is a complex that merges four different hotels and this is the second best. You can access restaurants and facilities from the below priced hotels, but the distances are insanely long. Rooms have limited wifi and cable TV, room service is very slow but the beds and bathrooms are ok. As for the beach, it has a nice shore with white sand and activities. Most guests come from the US and EU so the staff is well trained in English. All in all, a nice place to stay with family and friends, but a little too shabby and overpopulated for more exigent couples. read more

First time staying in all inclusive resort. There's so much things to do at this place. Food was OK, not the best. Drinks were also OK, nothing premium. The rooms were cleaned everyday day. I thought the staff was super pleasant and friendly AND very attentive. Someone on here said they rolled their eyes at them...I didn't have this experience whatsoever. These people rarely get tipped either...from what I noticed. They have a club, shows in the PM and golfing. You can buy cuban cigars and smoke them by the beach. This place was awesome! The only thing is that I paid 70 bucks for pedicure and the lady did a crappy job-she messed up on one nail and didn't fix it. But whatever I didn't say anything. Good place overall, my experience was good and I plan on coming back. This place is also excellent for group vacations. read more

Pluses were that the hotel is beautiful, the pools are nice and the beach is spacious. We had to call twice for repairs in our room, to the safe and toilet and both times the maintenance guys quickly came and fixed the problem. However, in the center of the beach just offshore submerged where you can't see them is an area of large rocks that will do serious damage to your toes and shins. It also seemed like the resort was understaffed. There is only one swim up bar at the Lindo and there were only two bar tenders there at a time. It was also rare to see servers walking around either the pool or Beach area. There were two other bars in the pool area but most people do not want to get out of the pool to get a drink. This causes the swim up bar tenders to be very overworked and it shows in the quality of the drinks. It also seemed like the front desk staff was not aware of the hours of the pool or the various food establishments. Our main complaint though was with the food. There were many buffets which I suppose is helpful to feed kids. Buffets would be okay but the food quality was not good. In particular at El Fogon by the pool was atrocious both during the lunch buffet times and when we went to the "Italian" restaurant at night. Everything on the buffet was room temperature. We went with friends and all four adults got ill. This was our fourth time in Mexico including once twenty five years ago when we ate at some places off site and we have never been sick. Even at the "specialty" restaurants that required reservations the food was not good. At the high end adults only French place we got a mushroom dish that was supposed to have a poached egg and it was cooked hard. Who poaches eggs hard? The supposed steak that I got was a tough piece of roast. The impression that we got overall at the resort was that of a company that was desperately trying to cut corners on the budget and it showed in the quality of food and the overworked staff. read more
