WOW. Just wow! 5/5 experience, would recommend to anyone. I'm finally getting around to writing this, but we went in their inaugural year and it ended up being the trip where we got engaged. That special moment aside, this will probably be the nicest resort I ever stay at! We booked on points (before they hiked the points valuation up), and we couldn't believe our luck. We stayed on the Impressions side, which came with a personal butler, access to exclusive rooftops and pool and restaurant, and other added perks. SERVICE The staff here were absolutely incredible, from the swim up bartenders to the cleaning team. Just impeccable from check in to check out. FOOD Seriously, so many options so little time! We loved eating at all of the restaurants here: multiple to choose from meant we never got sick of one thing. We especially loved the Asian spot and the French fine dining one. DRINKS We had tons of fantastic cocktails here! I loved that at each bar and restaurant, there were different specialty cocktails. And the speakeasy?! So cool! POOLS The pool options here are incredible! Tons of options and plenty of room, never felt crowded. We wished the hot tubs were open later to enjoy in the evening, but understand it's a safety issue. AMENITIES Some of my favorite amenities were the room soaking tub, the snacks and desserts set out at the entrance to our building, and the entertainment options: not just the same show every night.
What an absolute dream resort. This was the perfect getaway for our babymoon, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. It's adults-only, relaxing, and beautifully designed. There are multiple pools, but we spent most of our time at the activities pool, just the right amount of live music and energy without feeling like a full-blown party. Tons of restaurant options, too, but definitely go early or be prepared to wait. We'd grab our dinner buzzer and head over to Dark Horse for pre-dinner cocktails, which became our favorite routine. Packing tip: Leave the heels at home! The walkways are cobblestone and much easier to navigate in flats. You might get by with wedges, but honestly sandals take up less suitcase space and you'll be happier in them. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and eager to help. We visited in June during sargassum season, so we didn't spend any time on the beach; but we knew that going in, and with so many great pools, it wasn't a big deal. Definitely bring your own insulated tumbler so bartenders can pour your drinks into it directly, it keeps your drink cold so much longer. The nightly shows were fun, though after two or three they start to blend together. However, we absolutely loved the speakeasy nightclub. Every night had a different vibe depending on the music and the crowd, and we had such a blast there. Our room was great as well, equipped with a steamer, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, plus robes and slippers. We requested turn-down service each night to make the trip feel extra special. The only thing I wish they improved was the late-night room service menu; it would've been nice to have a few more options. The pass-through food box was super cool, they drop the food in without needing to open the door. We would 100% come back to this resort. Truly an unforgettable babymoon!
A nice girls trip! We all had such a great time here and the food was absolutely top tier, the rooms were nice, and the shows were fantastic. As with any Secrets resort, you're going to pay top dollar. If you want to be closer to the beach, you'll have to pay a premium, but for me, the price point didn't quite feel worth it. The drinks could have been better, and one big drawback is that this isn't truly a beach resort. The beach itself isn't the most appealing, so they focus on several pools to make up for it. While it was still a good experience, I'd probably try another Secrets location in the future, just not this one
My wife and I stayed 4 nights at Secrets Moxché. It's a nice resort with some standout features, but not perfect. Room: We booked a Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View. The suite was huge (basically 2 rooms), with a dining table, large sofa, spacious bedroom, and a beautiful bathroom. Very clean and comfortable, but we had some issues: a few power outages, ceiling fans turning off randomly, a slow shower drain that smelled, and the living room AC never worked despite maintenance requests. Concierge: Our concierge, Paola, was excellent--helpful, caring, and quick to communicate via WhatsApp. Restaurants: Ember - Good but limited. Only 3 meat cuts on the included menu, sometimes unavailable. Best was the picanha. Sides were often better than mains. Bananas foster was the best dessert. Suki - Drinks and desserts were the highlight. Sushi was just okay with some odd flavor combos. Seasoul - Tried during a special grill night, food wasn't great. Observatory - Great breakfast option, probably the best on property. Market Buffet - Breakfast was fine, lunch was much better with options like ceviche and mole enchiladas. Above-average for an all-inclusive buffet. Bamboo - Surprisingly our favorite. Excellent Thai food, pad thai and spring rolls especially. Great service and location. Highly recommend. Café - Friendly staff, fast service, and they have cold brew. Entertainment & Bars: Shows - Weak overall. Cirque Deliria was repetitive (alternating dance/acrobat acts with one singer). Gypsy Club - Fun for one visit but underwhelming. Lights and music got boring fast. Dark Horse Sports Bar - Looked nice but TVs often didn't work, and they were usually out of common liquors like whiskey or gin. Pools: Lots of great options. Favorites were the Observatory pool and the beachside pool with activities (both had excellent bars). The lagoon pool was nice too. Least favorite was the cross-shaped pool--so warm it felt like bathwater. Beach: Not swimmable. Strong smell despite efforts to clean it. Wine Boutique: Highly recommend. We did a Mexican wine tasting with Fernando--he was passionate and knowledgeable. Issues & Gripes: Vacation Club Pressure - This was the most annoying part of the stay. We declined at check-in but were asked repeatedly at guest services, even followed into an elevator, and got a letter under our door on the last night. Way too pushy. Reservation Promotion - We booked through Hyatt's "Passport to Paradise" which included $200 in credits. Staff didn't know what it was and we went back and forth until checkout, when Manager Sandra resolved it for us. Apparently the resort doesn't always get Hyatt's promo info. Coupons - Useless. Discounts only apply to overpriced extras like spa, wine bottles, or private dinners, so they don't save much. Overall: Secrets Moxché is beautiful, with amazing rooms, some standout restaurants, and great pools. Service was generally very good. But the hard-sell tactics for the vacation club, small maintenance issues, inconsistent food, and weak entertainment prevent it from being perfect. I would recommend it, but with managed expectations.
11/10. Had an incredible time here, and was wow'ed at the service from beginning to end. Gorgeous views, Le Labo scents in the bathrooms and rooms, impeccable attention to detail and customer service. WOW. I was a preferred guest and you receive a complimentary hour at the spa for a hydrotherapy service and it was absolutely amazing (thank you to Mauricio at the spa for guiding me through the various steam rooms!) I was here for a friend's wedding and they hosted our party of 77 people with great care. From the swim-up pools (thank you to Saul for the amazing service by the pool!), to the nights eating at incredible restaurants, to effortless room service, and a BEAUTIFUL wedding ceremony- this will be a cherished memory forever. Thank you Secrets!
Unfortunately, not my favorite resort in the Playa del Carmen area, for a few reasons. The thing about these resorts is that they're always really great. It's hard to mess up prime beach space in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Because of that, you have to try *really* hard to mess that up. At Secrets Moxche, the service was so bipolar it was either the most awesome, best service you'll ever have or something leaving you scratching your head wondering if you were the jerk. For example, at the carving table at the buffet (which was cool), there was a phrase in spanish written on one of the products. Gently, I asked someone there for a translation. The dude didn't even look at me, said "Ehhh, its too hard to translate" then took off. Okay... But, in contrast, other times the service was sublime - chatty, ebullient, and warm. Go figure. Most significantly, you're paying around $900.00 a night for a special room. In several instances, things weren't as described, like the ocean view rooms that don't really offer an ocean view. When you bring that up to the concierge, they'll just reply that you were supposed to book the 'full ocean view' room. Okay.... Finally, there's also an ultra deluxe room that you can book that is at the way way top of the resort and gives you access to a special restaurant up there and, yeah, something like that. After awhile, there are just too many upgrades to purchase and you just want to be done with it. Overall, solid three stars. Booze was boozing. Food was unlimited (if you can get a reservation at the restaurants. But, there may be better values in Playa Del Carmen
I'm late sharing this, but I stayed at Secrets Moxche earlier this year when a couple of my friends got married there. It was admittedly my first time shelling out for an all-inclusive resort and this is more like a 4.5 for me, but a really great experience nonetheless! Our room was gorgeous and cleaned meticulously every day. We definitely did use the outdoor bathtub as well, which was a unique experience. The food was great at all the restaurants we went to (Italian, French, ), and the street tacos cart was a nightly necessity after dancing all night at the speakeasy club through the pharmacy. Room service dinner was not good though, but I will say it was delivered quickly and we ordered A LOT of it on our first night there. Room Service breakfast was better, but definitely take advantage of any of the restaurants on the property instead if you're not too hungover. Drinks throughout the resort were appropriately strong and the staff constantly make sure you have one in your hand. We particularly loved the buffet, which I know, typically buffets kind of suck, but in this case every day had different offerings and a lot of them and it was certainly above average with taste. I started every morning with the resort's green juice and I missed it immensely when we came back to Chicago. The entire resort feels sultry and exciting, and being adults-only was the best ever, especially for this wedding group I was a part of. Speaking of which, due to potential rain the wedding itself was moved to one of the rooftops, which was gorgeous and had a beautiful dining room and sound system for when the dining became dancing. The dinner we were served on the night of the wedding (Foie gras, smoked salmon, a really amazing spinach-based salad, filet mignon with shrimp, and cake) was everything. Walking the beach at night and during the day was dreamlike and each of the pools was spacious, perfectly heated, and never too packed or busy. We went in February and were able to always find chairs and spaces to make our own. The swim-up bars were also gems. Chairs and cabanas litter the beach as well and we never had an issue securing one. The shows were good and engaging as well! Would definitely vacation again at this resort and I will say, that other resorts I've stayed at over the course of the year made me think about how great my experience here was.
Arrived Sunday for a 4-night stay at this magical location with beautifully appointed rooms, all with views of the famous turquoise beaches of the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. Our check-in was hlighted by the registration concierge, Denisee. She's animated and welcomed us as she introduced aspects of the property. Since our rooms would not be ready til midday, we went to explore & found a lovely restaurant aptly named SeaSoul. It was delightful and was an open air space facing toward the beach. Great views while dining! Shortly thereafter, we were shown to our room! Simply fabulous !Aesthetically, the use of wood & stone is so powerful and elegant that it creates a very unique space. A very subtle reference to materials that are hand hewn creates a very peaceful place to rest by the sea. Each room angled toward the ocean providing a unique view of the sea. This property was reminiscent of another fabulous ( but not all-inclusive resort) named NIZUC. Since its inception it's become the standard bearer of the new "look" in hotel properties. As I walked this property, it became clear many artistic influences are working together to reference the hand-made natural & elemental environment. Openings that point toward intimate spaces. Settings that can accommodate large groups that want to mingle, or quiet retreats if that is your preference. Excellent resort. Rooftop swimming pool on the ninth floor of the main building, as well as on the rooftop of the Impressions property. Complete w/ Palm trees! Yes, palms in the sky. So lovely. Can't wait to return!! MOXCHÈ you have my heart!
This might be my new favorite resort in Mexico. The grounds and resort itself are immaculate. Check in was a little off, but we arrived early and many people were checking out. That being said, everyone at check in was very accommodating, and despite arriving early, our room was ready. At first we thought the room seemed small, but it was actually more than we needed. We did a preferred swim up which as a private pool. The private pool was nice when we wanted to get away from everyone, but the water was a bit chilly. The resort has so many pools and we enjoyed them all. Our favorite was the lagoon pool. There are no chair games at this resort which is a huge plus. All the staff were very friendly. Food at the resort was above average. I even liked the buffet, and I'm not a buffet person. Have the preferred breakfast and lunch restaurant was a great perk, and the food there was very good. I think the only restaurant that was a let down was the Italian. The taco cart is a must when waiting for your dinner reservation. We were there for the Fourth of July, and the resort did a very nice celebration. The roads of Mexico night was a fun as well. I can't wait to return to Secrets Moxche.
This resort deserves more than 5 stars. We visited last year in 2023 to scout a wedding venue. Instantly fell in love with this place and cancelled all of our other appointments and chose this resort for our wedding. We got married here on 04/20/24 and had an amazing time. Faride was our wedding coordinator and she was on top of everything the day of. It can feel a bit hectic leading up to the day but she made it possible! As for the resort, it's a beautiful place. Lush and relaxing. There is a fun atmosphere but I wouldn't call it a party resort. They do however have a beautiful speakeasy club that opens up around 10:30-11pm. The drinks are great, the staff is top notch and so is the food. Anyone who says the food isn't good here is probably just a picky eater. There is absolutely something for everyone. Ember had the best octopus I've ever had. Full 16oz steaks and a vibe to match the name. Sea soul is amazing - particularly their shrimp & fish tacos were exceptional. Some people complain about the full bar starting later than they're used to. Just load your room up with some beers. Buy a couple of bottles of booze at the airport or ask your transfer to stop by a liquor store and you're all set! Overall just have fun and take full advantage of your time here before heading back to reality. We did and we will be back.

BRING INSECT REPELLENT AND LEAVE YOUR HEELS AT HOME LADIES. IF YOU WANT SPECIAL ATTENTION, STAY AT SECRETS MAROMA. Keep your expectations low if you've stayed at other Secrets resorts. This place was such a disappointment, especially for almost $750/night with Preferred. Pros: Multiple pools, cool infinity pool, Preferred Observatory restaurant, Marketplace buffet, nice Preferred lounge, and most staff were friendly. Cons: Tons of mosquitoes (bring bug spray), even found a roach in the pool. You can't make restaurant reservations until you arrive, even if you email ahead. The app and digital room key barely worked. No fireworks for the 4th of July. No butler service. Nothing special for our anniversary besides a banner. All the pools were heated (gross in July). Slow elevators with no A/C. Rooms are outdated, smelled like sewage in the bathroom, and the A/C wasn't cool enough at night. Uneven walkways everywhere--don't wear heels. We came here because YouTube made this place look amazing. Huge mistake. We've stayed at Secrets Maroma and this didn't even come close. Check-in was just okay. No champagne when we arrived. The Preferred lounge was nice, but the app was garbage. Just ask for a physical room key. Our "beach view" overlooked mostly a parking lot. The room was spacious but worn down. Shower door barely opened, mold in places, flashing smoke detector all night, bathroom smelled terrible, and the room got hot every night even with the A/C turned down. Room service took almost an hour every time. The Preferred infinity pool was the best part of the resort. Get there early because chairs fill up fast. Service there was excellent. But why are ALL the pools heated? It's already hot and humid outside. Restaurants were our biggest complaint. We stayed only 3 nights over the 4th of July and couldn't get a single reservation because you can't book until you arrive. Ember was decent with good service. Suki completely ruined our trip. We got there right when they opened but were forced to sit outside because they said every indoor table was reserved. Within minutes I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. I told them I'm allergic and asked to move inside. They refused, even though indoor tables stayed empty almost our entire meal because people never showed up. Management only apologized and wouldn't even remove one Japanese beer from our bill. They later said they would, but never did. That's what frustrated me the most--not the food, but how they handled the situation. The 4th of July beach party was another mess. We waited about 30 minutes just to get seated, then had to wait in another long buffet line. We left early. If you paid extra for reserved seating, you skipped the line. The Marketplace buffet was actually one of our favorite places. The Preferred Observatory restaurant also had the best breakfast and lunch. Coco Café had good coffee and cookies. Overall, this resort felt crowded and impersonal. Preferred really wasn't worth the extra money. Between the reservation issues, outdated rooms, heated pools, poor anniversary recognition, and how management handled our complaint, we won't be back. We'd stay at Secrets Maroma again without thinking twice. read more
The property is wonderful. The small pools and "cenote" pools are really cool. The pools close at 6 pm though. Champagne check in. The rooms are decent. I had a couple of maintenance issues that we fixed within a day (phone and TV). The mini fridge only has Amstel Ultra. Gross. First all inclusive I've ever been to they didn't have a beer from the country in which it was located. The bathroom and rain shower were excellent. The food was very good. The 4 main restaurants say they have a dress code, but intermittently enforced. Street tacos until 1 am every day. The coffee shop is open 24 hr and had pastries and ice cream. It's good. They offer some different lunch options which change daily out near the main pool and beach. The employees are excellent and attentive, with one exception (see below). The "speakeasy" is a dance club. A lot of fun. Opens at 10:30. Great staff. The entertainment theatre is indoors. It was ok. I saw parts of two shows. The downside: for the single occupancy cost (I went alone to a wedding), the value was just not there for 720 bucks a night for one person. It's "mostly inclusive". The extras are everywhere with a staggering price tag. Beach cabana, extra, bottle of wine at dinner extra, every Restaurant had some sort of extra experience. Ribeye steak at ember, 80 bucks. There are enough beach and pool chairs for the volume of people. Of course, half of them are reserved with a towel or personal item and unoccupied like every other resort you've ever been to. I find this highly unacceptable. The beach is fairly mediocre. It's not very wide. The are not very many chairs, and it's not very fun to swim in the water there if you can find a break in the endless amount of seaweed. It's fairly rocky. It's just the way the Riviera Maya is. The coast sucks. This is the third resort I've been between Cancun and Tulum and none of them had a good beach. And the seaweed is endless, along with the army of workers and the loud tractors picking it up. The worst part was the understaffed pool bar. This is the main activity pool. We were there for an hour or two each day, it was the same problem, no bar back, only two bartenders, waiting 15 to 20 minutes to get a drink. Tipping them didn't get you any sort of faster service. They barely acknowledged your presence. They seemed genuinely unhappy, and they were really the only employees at the resort that didn't seem like they wanted to be there. So I will not go back to this place. And possibly never to a secrets again. read more

The dude didn't even look at me, said "Ehhh, its too hard to translate" then took off. Okay... But, in contrast, other times the service was sublime - chatty, ebullient, and warm. Go figure. Most significantly, you're paying around $900.00 a night for a special room. In several instances, things weren't as described, like the ocean view rooms that don't really offer an ocean view. When you bring that up to the concierge, they'll just reply that you were supposed to book the 'full ocean view' room. Okay.... Finally, there's also an ultra deluxe room that you can book that is at the way way top of the resort and gives you access to a special restaurant up there and, yeah, something like that. After awhile, there are just too many upgrades to purchase and you just want to be done with it. Overall, solid three stars. Booze was boozing. I'm late sharing this, but I stayed at Secrets Moxche earlier this year when a couple of my friends got married there. It was admittedly my first time shelling out for an all-inclusive resort and this is more like a 4.5 for me, but a really great experience nonetheless! Our room was gorgeous and cleaned meticulously every day. We definitely did use the outdoor bathtub as well, which was a unique experience. The food was great at all the restaurants we went to (Italian, French, ), and the street tacos cart was a nightly necessity after dancing all night at the speakeasy club through the pharmacy. Room service dinner was not good though, but I will say it was delivered quickly and we ordered A LOT of it on our first night there. Room Service breakfast was better, but definitely take advantage of any of the restaurants on the property instead if you're not too hungover. Drinks throughout the resort were appropriately strong and the staff constantly make sure you have one in your hand. We particularly loved the buffet, which I know, typically buffets kind of suck, but in this case every day had different offerings and a lot of them and it was certainly above average with taste. I started every morning with the resort's green juice and I missed it immensely when we came back to Chicago. The entire resort feels sultry and exciting, and being adults-only was the best ever, especially for this wedding group I was a part of. Speaking of which, due to potential rain the wedding itself was moved to one of the rooftops, which was gorgeous and had a beautiful dining room and sound system for when the dining became dancing. The dinner we were served on the night of the wedding (Foie gras, smoked salmon, a really amazing spinach-based salad, filet mignon with shrimp, and cake) was everything. Walking the beach at night and during the day was dreamlike and each of the pools was spacious, perfectly heated, and never too packed or busy. We went in February and were able to always find chairs and spaces to make our own. The swim-up bars were also gems. Chairs and cabanas litter the beach as well and we never had an issue securing one. The shows were good and engaging as well! Would definitely vacation again at this resort and I will say, that other resorts I've stayed at over the course of the year made me think about how great my experience here was. read more
Arrived Sunday for a 4-night stay at this magical location with beautifully appointed rooms, all with views of the famous turquoise beaches of the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. Our check-in was hlighted by the registration concierge, Denisee. She's animated and welcomed us as she introduced aspects of the property. Since our rooms would not be ready til midday, we went to explore & found a lovely restaurant aptly named SeaSoul. It was delightful and was an open air space facing toward the beach. Great views while dining! Shortly thereafter, we were shown to our room! Simply fabulous !Aesthetically, the use of wood & stone is so powerful and elegant that it creates a very unique space. A very subtle reference to materials that are hand hewn creates a very peaceful place to rest by the sea. Each room angled toward the ocean providing a unique view of the sea. This property was reminiscent of another fabulous ( but not all-inclusive resort) named NIZUC. Since its inception it's become the standard bearer of the new "look" in hotel properties. As I walked this property, it became clear many artistic influences are working together to reference the hand-made natural & elemental environment. Openings that point toward intimate spaces. Settings that can accommodate large groups that want to mingle, or quiet retreats if that is your preference. Excellent resort. Rooftop swimming pool on the ninth floor of the main building, as well as on the rooftop of the Impressions property. Complete w/ Palm trees! Yes, palms in the sky. So lovely. Can't wait to return!! This might be my new favorite resort in Mexico. The grounds and resort itself are immaculate. Check in was a little off, but we arrived early and many people were checking out. That being said, everyone at check in was very accommodating, and despite arriving early, our room was ready. At first we thought the room seemed small, but it was actually more than we needed. We did a preferred swim up which as a private pool. The private pool was nice when we wanted to get away from everyone, but the water was a bit chilly. The resort has so many pools and we enjoyed them all. Our favorite was the lagoon pool. There are no chair games at this resort which is a huge plus. All the staff were very friendly. Food at the resort was above average. I even liked the buffet, and I'm not a buffet person. Have the preferred breakfast and lunch restaurant was a great perk, and the food there was very good. I think the only restaurant that was a let down was the Italian. The taco cart is a must when waiting for your dinner reservation. We were there for the Fourth of July, and the resort did a very nice celebration. The roads of Mexico night was a fun as well. I can't wait to return to Secrets Moxche. read more

This resort deserves more than 5 stars. We visited last year in 2023 to scout a wedding venue. Instantly fell in love with this place and cancelled all of our other appointments and chose this resort for our wedding. We got married here on 04/20/24 and had an amazing time. Faride was our wedding coordinator and she was on top of everything the day of. It can feel a bit hectic leading up to the day but she made it possible! As for the resort, it's a beautiful place. Lush and relaxing. There is a fun atmosphere but I wouldn't call it a party resort. They do however have a beautiful speakeasy club that opens up around 10:30-11pm. The drinks are great, the staff is top notch and so is the food. Anyone who says the food isn't good here is probably just a picky eater. There is absolutely something for everyone. Ember had the best octopus I've ever had. Full 16oz steaks and a vibe to match the name. Sea soul is amazing - particularly their shrimp & fish tacos were exceptional. Some people complain about the full bar starting later than they're used to. Just load your room up with some beers. Buy a couple of bottles of booze at the airport or ask your transfer to stop by a liquor store and you're all set! Overall just have fun and take full advantage of your time here before heading back to reality. We did and we will be back. read more

Wow I can say this is the Best Secrets location I have been too thus far!! Amazing customer service, staff is so helpful. Spectacular beach front location and guess what Adults only!!! All inclusive location and the food is just damn amazing!! Everything we have ordered has been fantastic!! The Shrimp cocktail at Seasoul for lunch is in my top 5 of all time period!! Absolutely top notch resort here. Highly, highly recommend staying here at least 3 nights. Download the app to check out everything they have to offer. I had in mind to just relax and sleep in every day while on vacation here, but there were so many activities I wanted to try. I wish I had planned ahead of time. Main complaint - mosquitos. I left the vacation with red welts on my legs Dining choices include a Mexican place (Dos Almas), Italian (Allora), French (Bisou), steakhouse (Ember), lunch by the beach (Sea Soul), Asian (Bamboo), grill by the pool (Barefoot), and the buffet (Marketplace, which opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I loved the steak at Ember! CoCo Cafe is the only thing that is open 24 hours. They have coffee, tea, smoothies, and baked goods. The Dark Horse is a sports bar only open at night. None of these require reservations. The pools aren't too cold and are all about 4-4.5 feet deep. Some are more shallow, like where the hammocks are. They have nightly shows in the theater. The Gypsy Club is the night club. You have to get the daily secret code and can only access it through the pharmacy, which has emergency items that you may have left at home. They have entertainers who organize activities by the pool. I remember playing bingo one time and the winners got free shirts. I didn't use the spa, but it looked really clean. The gym is upstairs from the spa. They have classes like yoga in the morning. read more
Enjoyed our honeymoon here, but a few things need to change. We stayed for 5 days. Cons 1. Pool closed at 6pm which is wayyyyyy toooo early for a resort. Please reconsider this! 2. Gift shop prices were ridiculous, $200 for a simple hat?! $54 for sunscreen?! ROBBERY 3. Mexican food had zero level of spice. Very bland or had too much lemon/lime. Would have loved to try authentic Mexican food. 4. Very relax and no music playing while enjoying the pool, which wasn't what we expected. 5. Restaurants close at 11pm. 6. By the time room service food arrives, the food is cold. Pros 1. Service was great 2. Observatory rooftop restaurant had the most decent tasting food. (You have to be a preferred guest to get in) 3. How do these resorts compare? Each of the Secrets and Dreams properties we have been to have all been so different, and each has its best and worst moments. But, I have to say at this Secrets Moxchè I could not find anything bad about this place except for the stone walkways that were hard to walk on at times. How gorgeous was the view from the rooms, and each little pool area had its own personality. you could be in some of the quiet area pools where very few were at, or you could go to the beach pool, which was surrounded by a sand beach. The actual beach the week we were there was a little rough due to the storm at sea. but it was relaxing. And this game playing activity guy with a swim up bar needs to go to the activity pool. That is where they played volleyball, basketball, and cards in the pool. the entertainment team was amazing each and every one of them made the week fun. Especially Uzel (Photo of him with me in light blue hat) The bar tenders were amazing and extremely busy at all times. THE Food.... Was so great! We ate in the French, the Steak house, Seasoul, the Japanese restaurant.Market cafe, and for lunches at times or snacks we ordered from the barefoot grill. Every meal was as good as the next. I do have to complement the pastry chef that was at the market cafe. Ruth made some of the best desserts and cakes. her carrot cake was creamy and mouth watering. It would take a hundred more sentences to describe each item and meal, so I will just say a must to enjoy. One of the places I did not visit but heard was great was the Vegan only restaurant Bamboo. we stopped in to listen to some live music one night. Shows were wonderful and well done better than most I have been to, and the speakeasy was tons of fun, where we danced the night away. I just wish they would get rid of the smoke machine. From the pick up at the airport to our check-in process as preferred guests, we were truly treated first class. Rooms were clean large and lots of emenities. Even toothpaste and toothbrush! Had an absolutely wonderful time at this new resort! Staff go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy every second here. A few of my favorites: 1. Seasoul: SUCH good seafood! I only made it to lunch, but loved the octopus tostada and fish tacos. Flank steak was fabulous, too! The ceviche was so so. 2. Suki: make a reservation for the hibachi experience (free). It was 5 amazing courses! I also liked the crab roll and Sakura drink. The crispy brussel sprouts are also 10/10. 3. Ember: my Cornish chicken was incredible! This is one of the few places that offered oysters. They also do signature Bonnie and Clyde drinks on this roll up cart that they bring to your seats. The Bonnie was a little sweet, but good! 4. Activities pool: we spent 99% of our days here. I have to give a shout out to Sergio, who kept our drinks full, and Jacob for constantly running around to place towels and adjust umbrellas. Super nice guys! The entertainment team was also great! I don't remember all of their names, but I liked the water aerobics, Zumba, and pool volleyball. 5. Coco cafe: open 24 hours. Tons of great snacks, desserts, and all the caffeinated beverages you could ever want. 6. Nightly shows: we only ever made it to the cirque show on Monday, but we were surprised when it was more of a burlesque show. The acrobatics work was really impressive, and the theater was nice and clean! Other thoughts? We loved the mojitos, piña coladas, margaritas (mango, passion fruit, cucumber were some of our fav flavors) and the Tom collins at the bar. We also got chips/guac and quesadillas at the barefoot grill a few afternoons and loved them! A few cons: the fire alarm flashes a green light every few minutes in your room. Super annoying. Our "ocean view" was really just a view of the pools. Also, the tub on the balcony took foreverrrrr to fill. The gym is on the smaller side, but I never had an issue finding an open machine. The only other thing I can think of is that with your reservation, they claim you have waived green fees at a local golf course, but that's not truly the case. They claim this is a free walk around the property, not a round of golf. I would gladly come back- we had a wonderful time and I'm sure the longer this place is open, the more wonderful it will become! read more

Review for Secrets Moxché in Playa Del Carmen Pros: - Food: Incredible culinary experiences at Ember and the Japanese restaurant, both of which felt like 5-star dining. - Rooms: Very spacious with wonderful decor. The premier room with a private pool was absolutely worth it--offering much more privacy than the tub rooms with an ocean view. - Resort: The entire resort felt very new with modern decor throughout. - Staff: The staff was wonderful and very attentive. Special kudos to Karina, our concierge, who was always quick to get things booked and help out during our stay. - Spa: Take advantage of the hydrotherapy spa experience--it's free with a premier room. - Gypsy Club: Exceeded our expectations. Cons: - Drinks: Very watered down. - Prices: The store and on-site wine bar are very upcharged. - Activities: Not a ton to do other than lounge by the pool and participate in a few activities. For those who like to stay busy, plan an excursion for longer stays. - Pool: Need to get out early to secure a good spot by the pool. - Beach: Not great at all--lots of seaweed made it unenjoyable even for walks. - Food Options: There is an afternoon lull in food availability, with limited options between lunch and dinner. - Wait Times: The popular restaurants can have long wait times, so planning ahead is essential. He is very knowledgeable about the different tequilas, how they are made, what makes them top notch and will link up your pallets. Not only on this particular liquor but wine as well. The resort is amazing, beautiful and the rooms are very nice. I loved the shower gel and the body lotion. I'm sorry that I didn't check to see if I could purchase it before I left. We had a fabulous vacation at Secrets Moxche. It was our third time there and we will definitely be back! I'll start with the entertainment and service first , because it's outstanding. Our favorite on the Entertainment team is Uziel . He is a perfect role model for all the new employees in the team. We cannot say enough about how fantastic he is at his job! Aranza and Alana are also great on his team. We absolutely LOVED the new show Candlelight Experience. One suggestion though...while we love Arely Cardenas, the singer, we think her voice overwhelms the music. That show should not really showcase her, it's more about the chamber music. Just our thoughts! The Silent Disco/Silent Headphone Party was tons of fun! The evening singers at Bamboo were so good that it always forced us to eat on the patios so we could enjoy the music with our dinners. Speaking of dinners...there were some outstanding servers we need to mention. Omar @ Ember, Daniel @ Bamboo , Alberto, Gerson and Luis @ Allora, Jhonatan @ SeaSoul, and Alejandro @ Asado and Roads thru Mexico. They all were superb servers and really cared about your dining experience. I'm sorry that I didn't get the names of the servers in Coco Café, but they were ALWAYS busy and very pleasant. And thank you for getting the gelato freezer fixed while we were there!!! I would've hated to miss it. I have TONS of food porn... just ask! We went to the water therapy in the Spa, which is a must during your visit. Manuel walked us through the circuit and relaxed us with cucumbers and towels on our eyes! It's always tough to leave this resort, but we know it will be an annual trip, along with other Secrets Resorts! read more

The Market Cafe is an amazing way to start your day. We have had breakfast here twice now and the staff is amazing. Benito was our drink server and remembered my drink the next and how I liked my coffee. The food is fresh and so many choices. read more
