I never see many people in it so I imagine if they just lowered their price to something reasonable. They actually get enough customers to then make the same profit. Unlike supermarket checkouts designed to push impulse purchases, Growers Outlet has surprises in every corner. They don't sell meat, but we usually end up with multiple items that were not on our shopping list. There are a couple of times a year, when we want strawberries for canning, or a tree for Christmasing, when no place else will do.
