The wife wanted to try it but not by herself so I committed to 4 weeks so she could check it out. We renewed memberships and I saw greater results in tone, fat loss and body shape than in most other exercise regimes I'd tried. The great thing with these classes are that you can go as hard as you want but Jennifer and Carlos (trainers) won't let you give up. We started going for very different reasons and started at different strength and endurance levels, in those same classes we were carefully managed by jenn and Carlos so we both worked our butts off. I would walk out feeling sick because that is the way I hit the gym. My wife walked out so happy that she could see progress in less than 30 minutes a time. We both loved the classes and we're sad to leave MIA for NY. Thanks jenn, Carlos you are awesome.

One day I saw a friend on Facebook and noticed how much weight he had lost, I asked him what he was doing and he told me he had started Crossfit training. I had heard of it before but did not think too much of it, I started asking him questions and he told me how good it had worked out for him. He gave me the number to Animus Crossfit and I called and made the appointment with Jennifer Arias. On the day of my appointment I was a bit skeptical of this whole Crossfit thing; still I met with Carlos Arias and he me do some exercises which let me know how out of shape I was, wow. He explained to me how and broke down basically how Crossfit works and the nutrition plan that would let me meet my goal, so I decided to give it a try. I still remember the first workout which left me thinking what have I got myself into? The exercises that I performed were totally different that I had done before in the gym. I followed the diet plan and gave maximum effort at every training session and within the first couple of months I started noticing change in my body and I started wearing clothes that I had not worn in years. With the training that Carlos , Jennifer and Dayron provide and coach you through I have lost over 35 pds. and counting. I can honestly say that it has been the best decision I have ever made regarding my health and exercise routine. But after giving their first free class a try, I got hooked. If you haven't heard of Airlab, I highly recommend looking into it. It takes your typical group style HIIT circuit workout and elevates it, (pun intended), by creating an environment that challenges both your lungs and muscles in a completely different way. The concept is very unique. Before starting the workout, they display the current oxygen level and the equivalent altitude, letting you experience what it would feel like to train atop some of the highest mountains and iconic peaks. You'll burn more calories, increase cardiovascular health and most importantly, recover faster. The space and equipment are immaculate and each 45-minute session walks you through a variety of movements targeting upper body, lower body, core, or full-body, depending on the day. It keeps every class fresh, challenging, and never repetitive. They also do Hyrox training if you're into that. I'm also a big fan of all the coaches I've trained with. They're incredibly attentive, encouraging, and always making sure your form, pace, and technique are correct. If you're not used to training at higher elevations, like I am, there's definitely an adjustment period. I had to seriously pace myself during the first couple of weeks, and even now after a couple months in, I still listen to my body when needed. But if there's one thing I've noticed for certain is the improvement in my strength, endurance, and overall fitness. Timing and serendipity plus investigating website and reviews, I decided to set a preliminary appointment to visit location and discuss MY specific requirements and parameters. Conversation with owner Varun was informative. He listened and introduced me to Certified Personal Trainer Mike. All gyms have pluses, however, this is NO run-of-the-mill gym. There is science and research based benefit with AirLab's copyrighted process. Imagine working out on a mountaintop where oxygen is lighter. One's body is working at optimal effort. This is not about 'no pain, no gain'. The team are trained to work in this unique environment. As I walked outside after my first training session, I felt grounded in my stride having spent an hour inhaling purified oxygen; and actually walked four miles without effort. Whether placebo, positive thinking or reality, after just two sessions, others inquired what I was doing as they complimented my healthy glow. Yes, process and progress are a combination of good nutrition, self-care, etc.... Not just pumped muscles. Good health at any age takes: Information. Determination. Commitment. Location is convenient, next to the Little Haiti soccer park in a new building that has other business, an upcoming area for sure. Parking in available on the street in front of the gym. There are areas where you can use the pay to park app but I think there are some spots that are actually free. I've taken their bootcamp and glute camp classes which are really similar in the sense that they use a combination of equipment, cardio, bike, ropes and weights. Glute camp focused on lower body while bootcamp is more strength and conditioning. They get a five star review because they always have several trainers checking on you to ensure good form and assisting with the machines. My only recommendation is for them to explain and demonstrate the exercises at the beginning of the class. Exercises are written on the board and they quickly go over them at the beginning but I think it would help if they instructors actually show how to properly do them. Once you go a few times you get used to the machines and probably need less direction. Class goes quick and time in between exercises is short so make sure you bring a towel to wipe after yourself if necessary. They also have wipes if you need them. I will be going back to get familiar with all their great equipment!

The vibes are very motivating - loud music, trainers checking on your form, and the workouts are super fun.
