This is my zen place. Whenever I need to move and flow, this is my spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love all the instructors and their eclectic taste in music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They provide lots of lockers, showers and little Knick-knacks for you in the bathroom. Super cleanliness place which is a big + for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff is friendly and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually use my ClassPass to book but they have their own memberships too.

I went to Yoga Joint at the Pembroke Pines location for the first time last night. I signed up for Kara Raspberry's FLOW60 class. It was my first time trying hot yoga. As soon as I walked in the front desk was very welcoming. They gave me a tour of the studio and helped me to set up my mat and other items I would need for the class- such as the blocks. The instructor was friendly, lively, and very skilled in the poses. The class was full yet there was enough space between each mat to find my comfort zone. I sweat, stretched, and deepened my understanding of my body a little bit more. I'm excited to go back!

When I arrived to the building it was really dark and I wasn't sure which door to enter. So I entered the front door. I was met with people sitting at a table eating a vegetarian meal. Yogi Hari sat at the edge of the table. I introduced myself but everyone stared at me pretty blankly. Then one girl showed me where the satsang was. During the Satsang I was one of two other new guests. He would only acknowledge the other two guests and ignored me. He asked their names and engaged with them. Someone had to bring his attention to acknowledge me but he just looked at me and didn't ask for my name like the other two women. The satsang was beautiful. Afterwards, he gave a talk on the importance of health. The first time he acknowledged me was when he looked directly at me and asked me if " i knew what a blunt was?" So weird. After the satsang he asked if anyone had questions. I asked if they had other events throughout the month. He mentioned the yoga teacher training. Then he looked directly at me and asked "ANY OTHER QUESTIONS!?" In a strange tone. When it was over everyone kneeled in front of his feet and bowed while he pat their heads. I chose not to. It was my first time there and I simply went to feel it out. I was respectful but I didn't feel called to bow at his feet. I was the only one who didn't. Then, a student wanted to give the guests a tour. I was completely ignored and I felt a lot of weird energy. All though I'm sure the yoga teachings are beneficial and the garden has many wonderful herbs like soursop leaves I would not go back. I came with an open mind and excitement to learn but I left with disappointment and confusion. I will look for another ashram that hopefully aligns with me much better

Note the business keeps removing truthful reviews and leaving up reviews from 8 years ago…read more I attended a 200-hour yoga teacher training course at the ashram. During my time at the Ashram, I encountered unwarranted sexual advances from Yogi Hari, which made me profoundly uncomfortable and distressed. Yogi Hari also verbally abused me and publicly humiliated me in front of the other students. These actions were deeply distressing and detrimental to my well-being. On the second day of my stay at the ashram, Yogi Hari made sexual advances towards me in front of others attending the program. His behavior was disrespectful and unsuitable for someone in his position as a Yogi Master and teacher. After denying his request for sexual favors, Yogi Haris continued to publicly humiliate me on at least 5 occasions during the program. My attempts to express my concerns to Ashram staff were not met with his removal of his interaction with students as I believe he suffers from dementia and is unable to control his sexual outbursts. It is essential to remember that Yogi Hari's actions not only violated the trust I placed in the Ashram but also conflict with the ethical standards expected of a yoga teacher and spiritual leader. This behavior calls into question the suitability of Yogi Hari's continued participation at the Ashram. Many have reported this business to Yoga Alliance. this is my third time posting my review which continues to disappear.

This place is…read moreawesome and tranquill and calming and loving and compassionate, if you are going through anything, or just life itself, you don't need to explain, they will feel it without you saying a word! I went with my daughter for a new experience and got so much more! We entered this world of Calm and Love and Acceptance from a gathering of about 20 people in the Reiki Circle, which started promptly at 7 pm. Our spiritual guide walked us through meditation and proceded with a healing ritual; what struck me most was, she picked up just where I was hurting. I felt a lightness and energy coming through me after; in which I did not come in with earlier. The next morning my pained area was actually diminished as well. I know this, because my lower back pain, that had been blocked for a great while was alive and well. However, the ache, soreness and pain I had been experiencing for several years was greatly subsided to the point where I could not feel it! This is my experience and judging from the circle of friends there, I could tell, they all felt what I had felt last evening. The circle ended promptly at 8:00 pm, departing with a calendar of events in February, in which I plan to attend, the Vision Board Class, on Saturday, February 17th. Treat yourself to a healing good time at the next Reiki Circle, hosted every Monday night from 7-8 pm, Free of charge! Meet some awesome new friends, find comfort and relief and experience some self healing techniques to a better and more pain free life.

The environment was super cliquey and unwelcoming. No one but a couple of staff even spoke with me, and some "clique" members were outright rude. The most upsetting part of the visit, other than the dismissiveness by the "members" to me as a newcomer, was my interaction with the resident teacher after the class. A few people were standing around chatting, and after thanking the teacher for the class, I pointed out that I was new and a bit surprised to see the center used plastic cutlery and plastic water bottles. The words were barely out of my mouth when she cut me off. She became visibly annoyed and defensive. Ironically, her teaching that day had been on the perils of self-cherishing, and on compassion for others. Well, her reaction to my comment was highly incompassionate and very self cherishing! Talk about non-consistent! [As an aside, my understanding was that Buddhists care for and do no harm to all living beings - hence my surprise about the non eco-friendly kitchen stuff]. Anyway - the fact that attendance at the old center was 50+ people on the main nights, and that it is down to maybe 10 people at this site, probably tells you everything you need to know. After this experience, I did a Google search on this center, and discovered many others had had similar experiences. For example this: "Many former participants across different NKT centers report that the social dynamic becomes heavily insular. The core group of volunteers and dedicated practitioners frequently forms a tight, unapproachable "clique" centered strictly around serving the resident teacher and maintaining the building. Newcomers or returning casual practitioners often report feeling ignored or viewed solely as potential recruits for the harder study programs, destroying the organic, warm community feel that older centers like Oakland Park used to have." - Reddit. Amazing. Almost identical to my experience. What a shame. I'm staying away.
