Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by Tilley, a rescued Aussie Cattle Dog. I LOVE that they list her as one of the team members on their website. There is a large tasting room, and an outdoor covered patio on a terrace overlooking the vineyard with amazing views. Once we chose where we wanted to sit, our host, Christy, gave us a complementary taste of rose'. The tasting fee is $20 per person, waived with a two-bottle purchase. The tasting menu is mostly reds, but started with a Viognier. We were then offered the chance to try any white that they had open. Such a relaxing and, really, a perfect wine tasting experience. Christy is friendly and knowledgeable. And then Jim Rickards (owner) came over and talked to us for a while. He is very personable, and had some wonderful stories. We shared conversation with him for quite a while. We enjoyed all the wines. We bought the rose' and the merlot. Prices range from $30-$39 for the whites, and from $35-$63 for the reds.

The focus is Pinot and Chard and there is a lovely bubble too across two flights. Highly recommended trying one of each flight in your group to find your faves across both. They don't offer a wine club discount as you see that if you get your wine shipped. They have events throughout the year including in the summer with the music in the plaza series, members can reserve a seat from them and take a bottle or glass to enjoy the vibes.

Home of Baby Blue Blend, the handshake to the public, Blue Rock offers so much more variety and is their own produce. Take the personal tasting session in the main lounge and eat the platter, relax and unwind, unfortunately you won't want to leave. Everyone flocks to Coppola nearby but misses this, and what a miss, the drive around the grounds has so many picture opportunities. Stunning. Wine is amazing, I'm sure you will agree, and clearly this company is growing big with distribution now in 24 states. We are Ambassador members and bought a case today on top of our membership. I was so moved to learn that it's owned by Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court marriage equality case. I also love that proceeds from the wines go to support causes that uplift women, the LGBTQ+ community, and other social justice initiatives. It felt so good to know that each sip was also supporting meaningful change. Each wine has a unique name like the "19th Amendment" which is so cool. The space was filled with LGBTQ+ artwork and it is even connected to a gallery down the hall. So you can grab your glass of wine and check out art Nextdoor. Lastly, the service was amazing. While we just stopped in for a bite to eat, I can see how this would be a wonderful location for private and public events. (I now look at any bottles that say "cold pressed" with some light skepticism since it's clearly only written there for marketing purposes!) Throughout lunch, Edd brought us different wines to taste and by the end we were most definitely sold on the Stone Soup (the red version). The olive oil tasting was so much fun. First of all the bread was so delicious. And then we tasted about 15 (?) different olive oils or vinegars. The raspberry, lemon, and garlic ones were clear favorites. My personal favorites were the garlic and sage. Even though it was a bit of a rainy & cloudy day, the views from the patio were beautiful. We finished our wine out by the fire pit outside, and now I really need to come back during the summertime when the skies are more clear for the full experience. I left with lots of olive oil and great Christmas gifts for the family. The four piece olive oil sets are perfect for that and I brought one home for my family and we did our own inspired mini taste testing (I still miss Trattore's bread tho). 10/10 recommend and yes I definitely want to come back for the summer views and this pizza oven I keep reading in all the other reviews:))

They had the Wine Road event so it got busy after about an hour. We got to watch a saber which was neat. Wines tasted good. They also had non alcoholic drinks which my sister in law had, which is a nice touch. More wineries should do this. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.

It was foggy on the day of our visit so we were unable to see the ocean or Farallon Island. The wine host was very knowledgeable about the wines and the area. They had a really great pricing deal when multiples of certain wines were purchased, I ended up leaving with 6 bottles. They do offer food pairings which looked amazing, but we didn't book that experience. This is a nice spot to visit if you're in the area. The winery is kid and dog friendly.
