It's a little shack right by the marina in downtown Cedarville, and you can eat your delicious cone or sundae out at the tables by the water - if it's sunset, even better! The shoppe always is well-stocked with three cases of rotating flavors of ice cream (Mackinac Island Fudge is always there, though!) plus plenty of specialty sundaes, shakes and malts to choose from. One of my family members orders a Heavenly Hill sundae (with hot fudge and Reese's Pieces on top) every time - yum! One scoop is $2 and two is only $2.50. Sundaes are a little more ($3.75-$4.75) but remember you're paying for the experience and the enjoyment of summer! They also serve hot dogs and other food-shack-type but I've never tried them. You can order from inside (standing room for only about 4 people!) or outside at the window but I think the inside is faster and you can see all the ice cream flavors. In the evenings there's usually a bit of a line but the girls who usually are working there are fast and friendly. Small little parking lot fits about 5-6 cars. There's a little slide where kids can play and a gazebo with extra seating, and it's just an all-around perfect experience to go out for ice cream in the summers in Cedarville!

I chose the Peanut Butter Mackinac Fudge, and it was pure creamy goodness--rich, decadent, and packed with generous ribbons of peanut butter and chunks of Mackinac fudge. Every bite was absolutely delicious and left with wanting more! One of my favorite things is how conveniently Sadie's is attached to the Grand Hotel. As a hotel guest, it's was a treat to grab my ice cream and (after 6:30 p.m while dressed according to the evening dress code), enjoy it while relaxing in the beautiful Parlor. It adds an extra touch of charm to an already memorable Grand Hotel experience. Whether you're craving a classic favorite or a signature flavor, Sadie's is absolutely worth a stop. Delicious ice cream, genuine hospitality, and an elegant setting made it much more than just a place for dessert.

Quick friendly service. The vanilla ice cream on it was gooey and nice but the overall sprinkles, portion of ice cream to cake was a bit too much! (Can be shared between 3-5 people) Overhyped and over-rated place but good for one time visit to experience the old world ice cream parlour charm. Root beer float was refreshing for the super summery day after walking entire day on the island.

That old cliche is…read moretrue: You really could throw a stone on Mackinac Island and hit 10 fudge or ice cream shops. (Is that a cliche? It should be.) And if you don't like fudge or ice cream? Well, you're S.O.L., my friend. Luckily, my kids like ice cream, so we headed to Sanders because it was basically across the street from our hotel. They got a milkshake and a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cup (their standard orders), and they were happy with their treats. But if you're looking for some other kinds of ice cream treats, they also have sundaes and things of that nature. Sanders also has a whole case of chocolate goodies, like peanut clusters, coconut clusters and pecan clusters (they seem to like their clusters here); chocolate-covered Rice Krispie Treats; truffles and peanut butter cups and toffee; caramel apples; and lots more. Oh, and fudge. But honestly, I would get fudge somewhere else that isn't a chain. There are lots of fudge places on the island. That's the thing: Sanders is a chain. But it's a Michigan chain, and originated in Detroit, so it's kinda local. Nevertheless, it's a good place to pop into to find something sweet to eat.

The popcorn looks decent, not sure if they would be good enough to last for my team next week though. Ended up grabbing a bite or of water and chamomile brewed tea with carbonated water in a can. $7.60
