When Ice first opened it was wonderful! I wrote a great review for them. Now over a year later I can't recommend them. For a pedicure I sat in my chair for 30 minutes waiting while the water got cold. It started with 1 person then was passed to another and then to another. 2 hours later (gel pedi) I had a less then good pedi. I went back several times and had the same experience. Not only is the jumping around and time an issue but they don't do that good of a job. I've come home to find a bit of cotton in the gel or gel overlapping on my skin which just peels off the nail. My daughter has also had bad experiences. She came home with 1 foot unfinished which she didn't realize until she got home....took 3 hours! Back to Lotus for me I'm afraid. ‍ I'm done. read more

I made an appointment through Yelp and when I came in it wasn't on the schedule. Everyone was busy, so it probably would have been at least a half hour until anyone was ready, if I'd waited. I was barely greeted or acknowledged. I scheduled my afternoon around this appointment and expected to have a nail tech ready to do my nails. Not a pleasant or friendly experience. read more

Rude technicians, kept stabbing me with the pedicure tools throughout the pedicure, badly done pedicure and manicure, so a pretty bad experience overall. I've had two good experiences at this salon, but 6 experiences were awful. They're so conveniently located, but the nasty technicians and poor quality manicures and pedicures dont make up for the convenience. I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

BEST Nail salon I've been to in Indy and I've tried SO many! I requested an appt and got an email back immediately. The shop is beautiful, new and clean. Everyone was very nice. They have tons of colors and did an excellent job on my nails. Shawn recommended that I get a 'new set' because I had 3 nails to repair and a full set would only cost $6 more. I really appreciated him suggesting it based on value for my $ ! My nails look so much better than the last several times I've had them done elsewhere. I've been wanting to get my nails and toes done for MONTHS, and after hours of trying to find a salon on yelp, I picked Ice Nails after a referral from a friend. Now, I never get my nails done. I have always been able to grow them out quite long (they're short now), and have used Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish for almost a year now and I made an appointment about a week and a half in advance, and as soon as I finished picking out my color they were ready to me. The thing that first sold me on this nail salon besides the cleanliness and chicness was the fact that they had nail polishes to match each gel polish exactly, so you wouldn't walk out with two different colors on your fingers and toes. I don't know if that is common practice with other salons, as I have only gone to nail salons so horrible that they made me walk out before my nails and toes were even dry and ruined the whole thing. The guy who did my nails was very nice, and kept a conversation with me for almost the whole time. They used a plastic cover for each pedicure chair and change it after every customer. They also use sterile metal tools that come in individual packaging. They also don't use the "cheese grater" tool, which is apparently very unhealthy. My only complaint is that the pedicure massage didn't last as long as I had seen in other salons, but the results were so flawless that I honestly don't care. Another thing is that during my pedicure my technician took this knife-like tool and scraped it along the sides of my toenails, which was quite painful. I didn't know what it was, because in the few pedicures I have had I had never had something like that done. It did make my toes look more shapely though, so the pain was worth it in the long run! My gel is flawless, and even though I just got it on my natural nail with no extensions it looks great. They have SO many options for gel that I just ended up going with red as I often do, but I was so excited to see that they had a lot of nail polish colors that I have wanted to buy myself and are current. I am excited to go back just for the color selection alone! At the end of my gel manicure I was so nervous that my nails would smudge (haven't had a gel manicure in years) and my technician saw this. He made me feel at east quickly by rubbing my nails vigorously and demonstrating how resilient they were. Another thing I really appreciated was how thin my gel was. Most gel I see is very thick and unnatural. This looks very thin and not super obvious. For a gel manicure and pedicure it was $60 without tip. While this is a tiny bit higher than most salons, it was most definitely worth it for the clean environment, friendliness, color selection, and overall-the quality! While I can't say much about how long it will last because it's only been a day, I definitely think they will last awhile. Color is 430, Ferrari Red. The absolute best pedicure I have ever had! EverI will return again and again. Stop reading this and book ASAP! Original rating 5 stars. **UPDATE** 2nd return visit: I asked for a French gel manicure ( I usually do my own gel nails at home but didn't have the time). There was a communication barrier between myself and the gentleman who did my nails, but I thought we were overall on the same page when I told him what I would like. His technique was excellent, but when he put the white polish on the tips, he then only put clear over it. I stopped him and asked why he wasn't putting a neutral or a soft pink and he didn't quite understand my question. Another tech (I think it was the tech who does specialty nail requests) next to him overheard the conversation and and curtly told me, "you should've told him you wanted pink at the beginning". I was a bit confused because that's what I did when I sat down, but even more so I was disappointed by this interaction. Based on that brief conversation it was clear that "fixing" the issue wasn't going to happen so we finished up. When the tech rung me up, he was very apologetic and gave me a $3 discount, which I appreciated. Like I said his technique was fantastic, i just wish it could've been a traditional French gel with the traditional colors. 3rd return visit: Return for a pedicure since my first one was so great. Long story short: got a skin burn from the hot stones on my inner calf. I pulled my leg back in pain immediately and told the tech it was way too hot and I have a burn. She didn't seem too concerned, didn't apologize and proceeded to paint my toes. I asked for a tan/beige color (I never deviate from this) she did two coats but you could still see my natural nail lines through the polish. I pointed this out to her and she added another coat, but it still seemed really thin (maybe I picked the wrong beige this time). Her polish technique was good so I didn't worry about it. When I sat down to dry, I saw that my leg was now red and a little inflamed in the spot that the stone initially touched. The tech walked over to ring me up and must've saw me looking at me leg and said, "sorry about that". It was nice of her to acknowledge it, but I thought it was delayed being that it happened 15 minutes prior. So overall. Had a wonderful first, decent second and suboptimal 3rd experience at Ice Nails. I understand opening and running a service-based business has its challenges, but a key to longevity and keeping customers coming back is ensuring that the whole team understands the value of customer service. I have not returned since my last visit. New rating would be 2.5-3 stars. read more

I came in for a gel mani and pedi. There was no wait, they got me right in. They started by wrapping my nails and then lead me to a pedicure chair. Once my gel was removed from my toes, the guy did the ENTIRE pedicure without my feet touching the water. The first time my feet touched the water was after he used the callous and sugar scrub on my legs. I was disappointed because soaking your feet is the biggest part in my opinion. The massage was great and the paint job was beautiful but I was in the pedi chair for over an hour. Meanwhile, my nails are still soaking in acetone FOR AN HOUR! A different lady did my nails. The manicure was okay-ish. The gel is lumpy in some areas and there wasn't any hot towel or efficient cuticle clipping. I'm disappointed in this place as I had high hopes. I was in the salon almost 2.5 hours for a basic mani/pedi. read more

This was 3rd and last time at Ice Nails. The 1st time i had an excellent experience and 2nd time was decent. This 3rd time not so much. I told the person who was doing my feet that the water was lukewarm. Apparently she was annoyed by this and had an attitude the rest of the time. I asked if did they dipping there and she said yes sharply and nothing else. I was considering getting a manicure but after her response i decided not to. I guess back to Mystique i go. Usually go to Lotus but they did not have an opening when I wanted to go. I came here as it's just down the road. I got a pedicure which was great. Then a different lady came out to do my gel manicure. I almost feel like she either did not care about what she was doing or has never done a gel manicure at all. She did not cut my cuticles and seriously filed my nails in under 5 seconds, basically just barely ran the file along the nail once and moved on. All the while she was looking around not watching what she was doing. For instance once she filed my skin because she was too busy looking around to notice what she was filing. She then started painting with the gel polish and continued to file and clip while painting. Gel is finicky and can't have dust or particles flying around while painting or it will get stuck in the polish so I thought this was just absurd. She also put so much polish on that it would pool in my cuticles when curing and in some areas the nail polish had a bump. So each time she would need to clip the pooled polish out of the cracks in my nails. I asked her to file down the bump on several of my nails and she could not understand what I was asking. Unfortunately the manicure ended up being terrible enough to overshadow the fine pedicure. I will not be returning. read more

The first time I went there I had a good experience as it was very clean and my gel French manicure lasted over 3 weeks but today I went in with an appointment they had not written down and had to wait and then one tech left me sitting for almost 30 minutes with foil on and then another started to cut and shape and then he left and I had a 3rd person to finish. Took 1 and1/2 hours for just that. Not sure I will give it a 3rd try. read more
