I received a confirmation text and one reminder the day prior to the appointment. We arrived on time and our pedicure chairs were ready to go (yay), we chose our colors and I selected the 'Signature for $55. I was given a choice of scrubs/lotion and I chose lavender. I tried La Joie Nails for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! You can tell their salon is newer because it is super fresh and clean right from the beginning. The check in process was smooth-- with COVID, they ask that you wash your hands as soon as you enter the salon. I got a pedicure and a dip mani. Both my technicians, Joseph and Ken, were legit. They took their time, were incredibly friendly and the end product was *chef's kiss* I will certainly be returning to la Joie nails! PS. They only accept cash tips. I have been looking for a place near in the North West side to become my go-to and I think I've found it! The salon is really close to the Meijer in Whitestown. I got both a pedicure and gel manicure (with removal) and was really pleased with both. This place is very clean and large, you felt comfortable with enough space for everyone. They are also very organized and had a great selection of polish option. I noticed that the other reviews say the quality may be based on technician. I had Kathy, and she did a great job, I would definitely recommend. They do provide beverages free of charge. The one thing that took me be surprise is they prefer cash tips and have an ATM in the store. I would recommend bringing cash with you, particularly if $20 tips is not exactly what you're looking for. Overall good experience at La Joie Nails and I will be returning! read more

I really enjoyed my time here today! The staff so friendly, efficient, clean, and funny! I was offered beverages during my visit and I was immediately assisted. They were really busy but my Tech Kenny took his time on my feet. Clipped my nails and polished them to perfection. He also was very gentle and very professional! Jimmy, another tech was very funny and nice too. I got the Signature Pedicure with the Spearmint Eucalyptus scrub. They used this wax melt to soften my skin and it felt SO amazing! The manicure looked ok initially, but within hours of leaving I noticed it didn't seem like the gel set properly. Within 3 days my nails had significantly chipped on multiple nails (without reason, as I'm pretty gentle on them) and just one week afterwards, I'm ready to completely remove the nail polish as it is catching on clothing and is honestly looking pretty sad due to the significant chipping, I've not had a gel manicure last under two weeks EVER. Disappointed because I really wanted to like this place, but won't be back to pay for a gel manicure that only lasted 3 days the first time. read more

Ooh man I was so excited to come back in here after my first experience a year ago when I was in Zionsville but I left disappointed. Kenny did my pedicure and manicure. My pedicure was good the only thing I would have to point out is how long they had me socking my feet in the water. It was initially warm and turned cold by the time it was turn but I enjoyed the massage chair in the meantime. Kenny took time on my pedicure but rushed through my manicure. He didnt bother cleaning the extra residue before applying lotion etc on my hands or after finishing my manicure. The shape of three nails is wonky as well. I didn't say anything at the time of service as I thought he may when he is done. Before I could ask him too he started rushing me to dry my nails. I did bring it up to the front desk while paying but all they said was okay we'll tell him while they were fumbling through papers. They clearly didn't care. Nonetheless tipped and left. I've been to nail salons all over the Indianapolis area and still haven't been able to fine the right one. Until I came to La Joie. I had my nails done a week before and they were ruined and uneven, and I really didn't want to have ugly Looking nails for my birthday this weekend. Luckily I found this place. Everyone was very welcoming. I like that they have a sign in device and they offer refreshments while you wait. My tech Angie was very sweet. I'm very picky with my nails and with every thing I asked for ( like to thin them out and to change the shape a bit) there was not one ounce of attitude. I loved that she took her time and made sure to ask if I was satisfied. I will definitely come back UPDATE: Came back for a pedicure and loved that they used sterilized tools. One of the hairs from the polish brush got stuck under the polish on my nail (pictured) and it drove me nuts. I also had two nails break within the first week after having them done. I really hate posting negative reviews, but I figured I need to help another person out there not waste their time and money. I am so disappointed by my experience at this salon. I just moved here and have gone to one salon and liked their service a lot, but I couldn't find an appointment and thought I would give this place a try because I needed my nails done ASAP. The appointment was easy to make which was great and when the nail tech started working on my thin nails he was gentle and I was so happy, I thought great maybe I can come here more often, however he soon became visibly irritated while doing my nails. I don't know if he was just having a bad day or my nails were making him mad?! I am sure he's a nice guy but he was not in a good mood. Anyway I told myself to ignore that because I am here to do my nails not make friends so I let it go. The next thing that was a let down was that he kept downplaying stuff, and explaining away anything I said, for example, one nail was put on crooked, I asked if he could fix it and instead of doing that, he proceeds to tell me that my finger is crooked so that's why the nail is that way... now I've been putting acrylics on for 15+ years and never had that issue.. all of the sudden it's my finger and not that the nail was glued on wrong?! Ok. I started to become irritated at that point because he filed my nails and they were not even and He asked me to look and tell him if I'm ok with the shape, but when I told him to please fix them a bit, he did and still they are slanted. So I just kept quiet and wanted to finish and leave. He applied gel polish to my nails with gel and used a LED light to dry them, my nails where not fully dry when "done", when getting in the car I noticed they had started to look smudged and dirty. I thought to go back in and show them but what's the point... Also they only accept tips in cash, and when I asked for change he gave me bigger bills so I was stuck giving a larger tip than deserved. Today is day 2 and I have a chunk of gel polish which came off one of my nails..... will NOT be going back. read more

This is a standard strip-mall salon. Not bad, but also not great. Cons: inconsistent quality depending on the tech, not timely with appointments, overuse of the electric file, and not upfront with extra charges. Pros: clean and sanitary, convenient location, lots of color choices, and easy parking. Bottom line: If you're in a pinch, it's a decent option. Honestly, the experience I received here just wasn't a good one. I only get my nails painted with gel polish. Nothing fancy. Well, I had bits of polish on the skin around my nails when I left, and the polish started peeling within a week. So strike one. The gentleman who did my mani/pedi was pretty rough with me, and I wasn't digging it. During my pedicure, he was kneading my legs like bread dough. So much pressure, over and over and over, in the same spot. It wasn't so much painful, but it was definitely uncomfortable. Plus, when he was massaging my legs, which is a standard part of any pedicure, he was going slightly above my knees, and I'm wearing a maxi dress that is lifted up around my knees. I'm always polite to customer service workers, and I don't think he did it on purpose, but seriously dude - what are you doing?? I should have said something at the time, but I didn't. I shouldn't have to. It's supposed to be a fun and relaxing experience, not an uncomfortable one. Strike two. Lastly, the salon I normally go to is slightly cheaper, and their work is flawless. Strike three, unfortunately. Honestly, I only came here because my usual nail salon had no open appointments, and I was in a rush to get my nails done before going away for the weekend. I thought I'd give La Joie a chance, but they really didn't measure up to the experience I receive from their competition. I called ahead and made an appointment for a mani/pedi as I wanted to get both services done at the same time. Arrived at my appointment early and picked out my nails colors and briefly waited....no issue. The receptionist then told me that since the salon was busy, they wouldn't be able to do both services. I told her I'd come back to get my manicure but waited for my pedicure. I sat in the spa chair for 35 minutes....no one came over to give an ETA as to when a tech would be available. I dried my feet off, grabbed my purse and was heading out when a tech approached me and said that someone would be with me soon LOL. I told her I've waited 35 minutes and I wasn't going to continue waiting. She asked if I wanted to make an appointment to come back and I said no, I made an appointment for today and they obviously can't manage their salon properly. I took my 3 year old niece here to get our nails done. I have taken her to probably 2 or 3 other nails salons around Anson. This is the first nail salon that has sat us next to each other and did our nails at the same time. All the others have always taken her away on her own and do her nails, which is kind of uncomfortable, but then she has to sit at a dryer and wait awhile for mine to get done which is not easy on a kid. So I really appreciated the fact I could actually sit next to her, talk and have girl time like I've always planned. This is also the first place that has allowed her to pick her nail color and not change it on her in the end. The other places never went with the color she picked so she was never fully happy. They offered water and soda for us to have while we got our nails done and they also had some lollipops which kept her distracted as we waited for our nails to dry. It's been over a week and my niece's nail polish is just now coming off where any other time they come off within a day or two. The pricing seemed reasonable and less than I normally spend. It even offered more with waters and lollipops so it it well worth the price! The place was very clean and beautiful.
