I left without making a purchase. Today I needed measure marked plastic paint containers: all sizes out of stock. Sea sponge: In-stock at $30 each, (I purchased two earlier today from another locally owned paint store for $7.99 each - I'm heading back there now). I'd like to see this shop succeed. The location is great and the staff are helpful. Hopefully this review will be received as constructive criticism prompting improved stock management and discontinued price gouging.

There are so many things to love about Cole Hardware - it's kind of like a Hallmark store meets Ace Hardware. I've had keys copied here AND I've bought a SF-themed deck of cards. I've bought cookie sheets AND light bulbs. I've bought Christmas lights AND cute dishtowels. The customer service here is fantastic, the people who work here are kind, you can ask questions via text, and they give back to the community in both vibes and with give-back programs to support local. Best hardware store in the Financial District! You can barely find another hardware store here…read moreunless you find one in another district. My supervisor and some of my colleagues went to the favorite hardware store to buy products like plinks and batteries to make our workplace run smoothly. Maria and the remaining staff have given us a warm welcome with a smile. Not as big as ACE Hardware, I could still buy what's good for my bedroom, and that's the LED light bulbs. Last night, my family and I witnessed a blackout in our neighborhood, and it's never the first time. We each have our own flashlights that came in handy in case the blackout happens again. The light bulbs that my parents once have won't last that long. So, I thought I would buy the ones that last say 22 or more years. For eye comfort, I chose the long, scrawny bulb that would last up to 13 years. The amber light was good for when I study during night time. Hopefully, Philips won't let me down. I might come to Hardware Financial District only to purchase products based on my dad's home repairs. But flashlights and batteries are what we need in case the blackout happens. Don't forget to save energy during daylight.

I bought many things here that I couldn't find elsewhere and this place has the best prices, noticeably cheaper than other hardware stores in the area. I've always been happy with my purchases. Yesterday, I bought a kitchen sink strainer and bought the wrong size and type. So today, I went back and was able to find an even better kitchen sink strainer and was able to replace this in an exchange. The clerk told me since it was opened they wouldn't be able to resell it anymore and still processed the exchange. This is the reason why I come here and give this place 5 Stars because they GENUINELY deserve 5 stars. The workers are so friendly and nice. I noticed recent 1 star reviews for this business. One poster said she bought hardware stuff on sale around Christmas and failed to pick it up. The things were returned into stock and she goes there and asks them to honor the sale prices when she got them at a Christmas sale. She goes on to complain that they don't have good customer service or she felt they were giving her an attitude. If I were the employees there I would be giving her attitude too for wasting their time repeatedly with her unreasonable requests. I LOVE THIS PLACE, PLEASE STAY OPEN FOREVER AND EVER !!!
