An environment of joy for ALL AGES!!! An important aside: Mesa is known for disability inclusivity: the bathroom had plenty of stalls and is accessible, including a full size changing table. There are also headphones throughout the museum for those with sensory sensitivity. IDEA museum is doing an excellent job of fostering an environment of accessibility, celebrating the gifts, talents, and unique attributes of all. The museum did have people in it but it felt like there was plenty of space and plenty to play with. There are many installations celebrating different types of art, and lots of hands on opportunities. Everyone is able to explore their talents and create special pieces which they can take home. And there is lots of opportunity for photos. I highly recommend.

I went to this museum last week with my kids, and they absolutely have a great time. The museum has been renovated and reopened a few months ago. They have everything that my kids love to play and they enjoyed it a lot. The museum is not that big like others, but they do have a lot to offer for you to check it out. It's well organized, clean and fun. The staffs are very helpful and very friendly. The members for 4 people only $105 per year and kid under 11 mo this is free. I personally think this museum has a great indoor activity offering with a great price. If you are looking for something different, Come and check it out this fun spot for your kids. You will like it like I do!

This is a great place for kids. They can build things, they can draw, and just have fun with their creativity. There is I think something for every kid of any age. It is 10.00 per person and you can spend an hour to probably 3 hours.

Idk how this has a 3.8 rating. This place should get a 5 star just for the fact that all the messes are not happening in my house. Jokes aside- this is a great place for kids to be kids - explore and be creative. I highly recommend checking it out and getting a membership and then you won't feel guilty about going for just a few hours to get the kids out of the house. We love the idea museum.

If you are a parent with young kids, u always keep in check on all the kids activity places, parks, party places and more. We planned for a play date at idea museum with one of our friends. You can buy the ticket online or can just walk in and buy the tickets. It's the same. I would definitely recommend socks if you want to go enjoy the toddler section. The activities are pretty artistic and fun for the kids. Lot of paper & color based activities and things to do. Kids can easily be entertained for good 2-3 hrs, which is absolutely a win win. We had a good time and there's many things to do. Mostly it's art based and wished, there was more science and playtime to keep the older kids engaged. Otherwise a nice one and absolutely value for money.

Such an awesome year round experience for everyone. Hours worth of play and crafting inside in the summer and a huge enclosed outdoor space in the cooler months. My kids never get sick of going. Some days we spend hours in just one gallery area. Super worth the membership.

The IDEA Museum has a lot of hands-on activities going on for kids of all ages! We went with family and several kids ranging in age. The one year old didn't really understand what was going on but the kids a few years older absolutely loved the different things they could do! We will come back when the baby gets older in a few years.

We love the IDEA Museum as a family! Always so many interactive exhibits for all ages. We enjoy how often they change things out so it's well worth the yearly pass. My three year old ask to go every other day. My nine year old loves it as well.

It was a great place to take our friends that have younger kids. Truly a little bit for everyone, including grown-ups.

If I visit and we enjoy our time can we put our first visit admission price into the cost of the membership like the Phoenix zoo does?

Is this a fun place for an 8 1/2 year old?

Probably not. It is more for kids around 6 and under.

You know, this is a place for children, hahaha. If you've ever been to the Discovery Science Center…read morein Santa Ana, California, you'll see a lot of the same kind of thing. There's a lot of exhibits on geology, the human anatomy, solar, and others. I feel like I was walking through a children's playplace, but not in a bad way. I'm super appreciative the kids in Phoenix have a place they can find fun and also learn something about the world around them! I love supporting this kind of outreach for the younger generation. Now, onto the real reason I actually came here today. I heard about the Julia Child exhibit. She's one of the biggest influences in food media ever, and I would be remiss to skip it while I was in town. The exhibit catalogued her life, from birth, to her time in the OSS and budding romance, and her formative years in France, after which she started her food show. What an incredible woman. If you have the chance, please come visit, and learn about the mother of American and western food media.

I do remember the outside water/air activity that was so much fun and they no longer have available. So here is my fresh new take: 1) It's definitely has great content for youth. Your toddlers won't understand what's really going on. 2) Extremely educational and informative for those who can read and take the time to understand. This isn't a look and feel, you must engage to get the full experience. 3) Parking was not far and they give you a discount to park, so parking wasn't an outrageous price. 4) Plenty of hands on activities! The downsides for me: 1) The price is a bit steep for a family of 3 or more. They also do not offer a law enforcement discount nor one for tribal members (No land acknowledgment either) The Children's Museum does both! 2) There are way too many activities inactive or not maintained to use. I wish there was a discount or at least a notice that they were experiencing so many problems, that way an attendee can make the decision to pay or not. 3) The water/sand area didn't have enough sand, not enough shovels, and no signs or instructions on how to clean up. 4) The best features are accessible for an additional costs. So on top of the general admission, you're paying $7 pp for the dome show, the special exhibit is $$, and the sky bike also costs. So, they really get you coming and going. Overall, I was underwhelmed by the experience as a whole. The content and purpose is still relevant and can be super valuable for young learners. I've experienced it once and I'm not sure anything would change if I came again. It's a take it or leave it decision.

There are plenty of different animatronic dinos to look at, but the actual exhibit is pretty small and can be walked through in 20ish minutes. It's pretty cheesy for us, but for a two year old....the coolest thing EVER! The children's activity made it slightly more worth it? There was coloring, digging for fossils, and playdough. For one child and 2 adults, expect to drop about $65 here (and that doesn't include what dino figurines your kids sucker you into at the gift shop!) So I'm not sure if the price is right, BUT my child has told everyone who will listen about "dino land" so I'm sure we will be back.
