I had what I thought was a dental emergency and having switched insurance a few times hadn't settled with a regular dentist after my dentist since birth retired. I've never had a cavity and a lot of the reviews for dentists seemed like they wanted to rush into all of this dental work. I was calling around to many offices getting so much attitude and lack of care for my pain - no one could allegedly see me for more than 3 months, even in an emergency. Frustrated, I finally found doctor freedman! His receptionists were the ONLY ones I spoke to over the phone who had an ounce of compassion and although they couldn't get me in asap, they put me on the emergency call list which happened to get me in the next day due to a cancellation. When I got there the process was seamless - quick check in and wait time and incredibly pleasant staff from the front desk to the X-ray tech to the doctor himself. Doctor freedman was incredibly honest, I came in thinking I needed an emergency root canal because of a cavity so he could have totally swindled me and recommended all of this work and I would have believed him. Instead, he said in a calm manner that everything is fine and he could refer me to an orthodontic surgery if I wanted but it wasn't necessary. January 2024 I needed to find a new dentist in my searching I found this dentist IDEAL DENTAL office of Richard Freeman . After the dentist did an evaluation the manager Dee (she handles the insurance) said It was not covered by my insurance or that I was getting a reduced rate and I needed to take out a loan. When I called my insurance to ask if a claim was submitted they said no, I got the loan and I paid the total cost . I told Dee to submit a claim to my insurance company this was in October, Dee submitted a claim for a greater amount than what they charged me. The insurance company is paying the claim, now they are trying to keep the payment and what I paid. Now I am trying to get my refund from them because I overpaid Freeman and Dee. DO NOT COME HERE. This business only cares about how much your insurance is paying them per visit. They will straight up tell you that your insurance sucks. I've had Freedman and he's only done the bare minimum to my teeth even suggested that I don't go to this place anymore. When he was cleaning my teeth he is touching his ear and his personal CELL PHONE, WITH THE SAME GLOVES HE TRIED TO TOUCH MY MOUTH WITH. GROSS AND UNPROFESSIONAL. The receptionist and office/billing manager display unpleasant and unprofessional speaking etiquette during a phone conversation with the dental insurance representative. Which had to call 3 times after initial call due to transferring, ignoring, answering then placing phone down Also with me as the patient dealing with a claim, tried to place all blame on patient even while the representative was explaining how to rectify the matter. The choice of words like "not going to argue with you", are you going to listen or keep talking. Instead of following the instructions of putting an appeal in. They're just out to get money and not fully checking requirements or coverage. read more

Office hours are posted as 9AM-6PM Mon-Fri, this is either inaccurate or the secretary's just don't feel like picking up the call. Drove about 20 minutes for a crown appointment on March 4, 2025. I sat in the dental chair for about 30 minutes just so they could tell me my insurance wasn't pre approved. I have a temporary filling that should have had a crown procedure within a week of my root canal, it's been 4 weeks. Always having an issue here whether it's with insurance or basic office hours. Don't come here unless you want to run around looking for answers like a chicken with your head cut off!! I will now be finding a new dentist! read more

I've never encountered an office with the level of incompetence that this one offers. I found the dentist through my insurance website, the website said they take my insurance. I called Ideal dental, and one of the staff members told me they take my insurance. I called my insurance to switch dentists. Ideal dental wasted my time by allowing me to make the appointment. I go into the office, fill out the paperwork, only to be told like 10 minutes later that I'd have to pay out of pocket because they don't take my insurance! Why I'm the world would you waste my time like that? How can a human being possibly be that incompetent. Where do they hire these people? Why does someone who lacks that much intelligence get a job? The Dr is completely rude!! I called Ideal Dental, and they gave me an appointment right away. I read many reviews before calling here and found that for me, this practice has been great. The staff is extremely friendly, and Dr Freedman and Dr. Schneider were amazing. I spent a few hours over a couple of days' treatments, and the results were beyond what I was expecting. They made me feel very comfortable, and I felt no discomfort during the procedure. I have a few visits left, and I know my visit will have been well worth it. read more

I've been going to Ideal dental for a few years. I get terrible anxiety when it comes to needles, and not actually getting numb in the past from other dentists. I have absolutely terrible teeth and have my entire life. Im pretty much always in pain and barely smile with teeth because of how embarrassing and ugly they were. In about a year and a half, my smile is almost completely transformed and I finally feel confident to smile again. Everyone in the office is nice, and kind, and manages to relieve my anxiety. This is the only office I didn't have to use nitros oxide because I have complete trust in them. They manage to get the work done so quickly, I'm in and out. I had a dental emergency and was hysterical looking for someone to see me. After calling around, and no one getting me in, I called Ideal Dental Services and they got me in the same day. I explained how my situation and the service was great. Drs. Freedman and Schneider were amazing and dedicated to their work. They listened to my problems, explained everything thoroughly, and were very patient (not to mention their actual dental work was painless and amazing). The staff was very professional and friendly. Dr Freedman took me in an emergency situation, needed a painful tooth pulled. His assistant took my Xray, was very profession, nice and efficient. The women who checked me in was the same. And Dr Freedman was terrific! It took 10 minutes to administer and let the novociane do it's thing, then took him four minutes to pull the tooth (which was pretty solidly in place). No pain at all. I had my teeth cleaned at Ideal Dental Services which is done by the dentist (not a hygienist,which is a big difference). I have sensitive gums and did not feel a thing! Very hard to get an appointment and i always saw a different person and not dr freedman. Going to the dentist is scary enough and i dont want to see a different person.Late night appointments are all booked up.The receptionists are nice but the office is a little outdated. Rating this dental place two stars for the soul fact that they do not care about their clients. I have been waiting since early august to get in for what was supposed to be an emergency appointment. They said the earliest they could get me in was September 26. So I took it and just ride the pain out for a few weeks until it subsided. September 26 comes around and I'm told that they can't take me because I'm still registered under my pediatric dentist. So the next available appointment they had for me was November 16th :| I called my insurance company and told them what happened and apparently all they had to do was give my insurance a call when I was there and they would have switched me over rather than having me wait months for a new appointment. Now it's weeks later and I'm still waiting for my appointment to fix what was originally just a small crack I'm my filling, but is now an entire jaw infection because I've been waiting so long to get in! I went to a different dentist spur of the moment because I couldn't take the pain and they took me back first, than we handled insurance later. Needless to say I switched my dentist. Don't come to Ideal Dental if you're in need of immediate treatment, and don't be dumb like me and wait on them either because things will only get worse. Blossom Dental was great they saw me immediately and we took care of all the insurance business afterwards. Horrible experience. I walk in this morning to one person at the desk. Hands me paperwork without even asking for a license..pretty sketchy. I fill my paperwork out and hear the receptionist in the corner trying to be quiet on the phone speaking to the insurance company. I hear my name and dob and her asking if they participate with the insurance. THE DAY OF THE APPT. I work at a dental office and know eligibility is suppose to be checked prior to any dental appointments so you don't waste a patients time and MONEY by taking off a day from work to come to a disgusting establishment like this. She calls me to the front and says that they don't participate and I would have to pay out of pocket. I asked her why she's checking my insurance the day of when I made this appointment A MONTH AGO. She says they never check new patients bc they never show up. WELL SURPRISE BITCH. Maybe nobody shows up bc your doctor is in loafers and a funeral suit or maybe bc your receptionists and hygienists show up late carrying bagels and having small talk in the waiting area. When I first went there it was mainly because my individual insurance takes them. I went there for a check up as I haven't gone in a long time. My appointment took a turn when I expressed the gap in my top front teeth and invisilign being way too expensive. The dentist (male) offered a cheaper route of getting a retainer and shouldn't take more than 2 weeks. I went forward with this. My next appointment after getting the retainer was a month later even though he said no more than 2 weeks. I took this as to make sure. My appointment was for 5:15. I get out of work at 5pm and so I had to request to leave early. I worked later the day before to make up the hours. The day before the appointment I get a message from Jaimie CONFIRMING my 5:15 appointment. Today (the day of the appointment) I get a call from them asking if I can come in earlier than my 4:30 appointment. I apologized but could not and that my appointment was confirmed yesterday at 5:15. She said no it's at 4:30. I said who does your confirming? She stated she didn't know. I questioned that but she was firm that she didn't know. I asked to speak to the dentist after I was open to another appointment but was told the soonest was a month from now. She said he's in the back and will call me back. I then listen to the message from yesterday and it was JAIMIE, the one who said she didn't know who confirms, CONFIRMING my 5:15 appointment. I call to speak to Jaimie and the dentist had answered and advised my frustrations. He interrupted me and gave me to the office manager who was very kind but pushed against the wall since the dentist wanted to leave early. There was no emergency of any kind. He wanted to leave early AFTER a confirmed 5:15 appointment was made the night before and unfortunately the only appointment available is a month from now. I made the appointment reluctantly because this is a follow up of a service I PAID IN FULL already for. I'm not going to make the excuse that it is tough to make appointments as a single mom who needs to go to work because whether or not that is true there is no excuse for poor customer service like that. I will not go back and will warn anyone I can to not go to this place as they do not value their customers. Maybe if I owed money for the second half of my procedure I would then be treated with some customer service. read more

I lost my dentist due to retirement. He was my dentist for 40 years. It was traumatic to start searching for a new dentist that my family would feel comfortable with. So When my daughter had a dental emergency, I went through 1800dentist. It was a disaster. The dentist in Massapequa basically just wanted my money. cost me 200.00 for them to refer me to someone else. I got advice from a relative and called Ideal Dental Services. I explained my problems and Dr. Friedman jumped on the phone right away. He put me at ease and assured me that he could help me in a timely manner. His office staff is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I couldn't be happier with my experience and recommend the office to everyone I know. I went there for a full dental check-up. I had the worst cleaning ever. Dr..Freedman was not gental and not thorough at all. The cleaning was so rushed through and quick. He forgot to clean my back teeth and when i mention it to him. He said"if you would stay still then maybe i would do it". I said"if you were gental and not so rough i would not be moving". Very rude. Dr Alisa Neymark works at ideal dental on fridays lucky me to get her. NOT went in with tooth pain. said she did a root canal that still hurts but failed to notice a very bad tooth infection nor bothered to look it was causing the immediate pain and problem. not only did I get left for dead on weekend I got a root canal that has to be possibly be re done and more important failure to diagnose a tooth infection that was causing extreme pain made my face swell up almost causing another medical problem and all weekend even went to ER but no help. til Monday when I had to have an emergency pull out of my infected tooth by a specialist ..Dr Alisa Neymark didn't even diagnose what the??? she is a student and she was unprofessional bickering back and forth with her assistant the whole procedure.. I was in horrible pain and something didn't seem right told her about pain so bad and she said she was not a miracle worker what? I also had to ask for antibiotics at the end.she is a terrible dentist who maybe should major in something else..and i should have ran the hell out of there before letting her touch my teeth and trusted my instincts.. now I have been going back and forth with ideal dental dr freedman owner is giving me a hard time refunded my money for the disaster saying service performed.? oh yeah how's that ?left me in unbearable pain til i found someone monday night. too pull out my badly infected tooth and might have to get her weir root canal re done but most important failure to diagnose a really bad infection didn't even look ?who would miss that ?makes you wonder ?.i don't think its right for me to pay them anything !! and she be fulled refunded for that nightmare of a service? nor will i ever let them touch my teeth again .. you've been warned.. wish i was.. read more
