I have been coming here since 2017. Delta Dental PPO is my insurer. Out of pocket costs are zero for two cleanings, x-rays, exams, diagnostic evaluations and sealants, and they are reasonable for major work. Nicole the hygienist carefully and throughly cleans my teeth and take my X-rays. She makes sure that she reviews my chart before she sees me. She also educates me on how to properly clean my teeth. She has been my hygienist for a year and one half. I am impressed because the another dentist office where I was a patient a high turnover of hygienists. Dr. Macari competently and professionally examines my teeth. He also has an excellent memory. Today he remembered when I came in several months ago on an emergency appointment for symptoms of teeth sensitivity. He recalled determining that the charcoal toothpaste that I was using was causing my teeth to hurt when in coming into contact with cold liquids. He also has been my dentist for a year and one half. Both Nicole and Dr. Macari emphasize the importance of frequent flossing and twice-yearly checkups. I usually have no tartar on my teeth, so I have never needed any major dental work. The negative thing is that the office no longer automatically gives out a complimentary package of toothpaste, toothbrush and floss. Patients must ask for them due to COVID-19 guidelines. All patients must wear masks in the waiting room. Wait times are usually no more than five minutes. I highly recommend Sachem Dental. They are so professional. read more

Was told there was no charge for the crown and just received a bill for $620! I called and they said because I went to the other Sachem Dental office for a root canal, it was no longer covered. They said they didn't know about the root canal but they were the ones who made the appointment for me! Total con job. read more

I recommend Sachem Dental for cleanings (always have a pleasant experience) but outside of that, if you need oral surgery, use a surgeon that has a little more experience with the type of pain you might have after. Dr. Wu left me in agony. He removed my wisdom teeth on 1/19/23, and when the Novocain wore off, I felt like I was hit in the jaw with a bat. My wife rushed to pick up my pain meds and my relief was ibuprofen 600mg. That's just inexperience. This is not an ordinary extraction. My kids love Patty. They we're nervous about their cleaning but she was gentle and took her time to make sure they were comfortable. I am only making appts with her moving forward. I am so happy to have found this office in Patchogue of Sachem Dental Group. I had gone to Sachem Dental Group in Holbrook a few years ago and it felt like a clinic. This office is so much better. All the staff are so nice and the dentists and hygienists are excellent. They take my insurance and make the whole process so easy. I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years so when I started feeling major pain in two of my teeth I needed to get to the dentist quick. I called Sachem Dental Group in Patchogue as a new patient and not only did they accept me, they got me into the office the same day to take a look at my painful teeth. The office was beautiful and clean, they took all COVID safety protocols and everyone was friendly and pleasant. The wait time was minimal, the dentist came in to see me just minutes after my x-rays were taken, diagnosed my problem and set up a plan to move forward. The office staff even set up my next appointment in a different office and made sure to get me the earliest appointment available as I am in a great deal of pain! Don't go to this dentist beyond for just a routine cleaning. I am completely disappointed by the lack of service beyond the initial operation. Both of my crowns fell out within a year or so of the initial cementing. After the first recementation I was told it wasn't because they cemented it poorly and then the next crown fell out about a month and a half later. My dad had also previously had an appointment before all this happened and was also disappointed by the lack of service quality. I have been to a few good dentists before and this ain't it. read more

It was the absolute worst cleaning that I have .. I Was forced to take x-rays that I did not need so they can charge me $210 cash for a total of 20 minutes in the office I walked out of there and bought a rotary toothbrush and clean my teeth twice as well with a $30 toothbrush read more

I giving this one star because of my experience today with one of the Doctors I saw today! I want to give more stars for the rest of the practice but today was a bad day! I have had extensive work at this group of dentists. From Gum surgery to wisdom teeth removed to fillings and even root canal. Which I had done today by Dr. Ho. And I am an experienced Oral surgeon Ass't of 15yrs retired now! So I know what is going on and I'm a good patience. But today was the worse experience I have ever had at the dentist! To start off the injection of the Novocain was way too fast in my opinion and didn't wait for it to take affect! She also started to drill without waiting for it to take affect and when I raised my hand because I was in pain. She said I gave you Novacain it shouldn't hurt! and gave me more! And she didn't have any bedside manor! Never during the hour I was in the chair did she ask how I was doing! Nor did she, nor did the Ass't! And I felt she was very fast and rough during the whole procedure! My face right now is so numb I can't even feel my eye! On a happy note I will not see her again!! For the most part all the other Dentist I have seen there are really great and a have bedside manor! read more

I would give 5 stars due to everyone being wonderful at this practice except for 1 Dr, I went in for root canal and prep for crowns. She decided to do 3 teeth at once on one side. I take care of my teeth so this was somewhat shocking to begin with. But I thought, great, get it all over with. I have a small mouth much to the disdain of every dentist I have been to. Two great Dentists had a mouth guard(?) that held my mouth open wide while they worked. She did not have this and laughed and said she never heard of it. She complained the entire time and kept being rude to me about not opening my mouth wide enough. I explained this before she even started and told her about my TMJ also. However, she kept saying, "If you do not open your mouth wider I will have to pull out your teeth". In the end she said she could not reach the back one and only got it half done so I would probably need to come back someday and have it pulled. As if this was all my fault. I will never get a root canal there again if it will be her. Plus, the day after my crown was put on something broke inside the front most crown with my existing tooth that was left behind. I feel like it was due to her angry roughness. I did not go back for fear of dealing with this woman again. So I have a hard time chewing on that side without feeling pain. I have never been afraid of the dentist until now. :) (Important Back story: My father had excellent dental coverage and somehow even with regular visits as kids our teeth are covered in silver fillings. He did not let us eat sweets or soda our entire childhoods. We should not have even had cavities. Apparently it has been discovered that back in the day dentists recommended fillings to drum up business and our local office was one such that did this. So I am untrustworthy to begin with. I also had Braces for 4 years so I am basically a professional patient. Somehow my Orthodontist was able to survive my tiny mouth.) read more

The worst receptionists I have ever encountered. When I arrived they told me that my insurance card wasn't my insurance card, and basically threw it at me . My insurance card for the last 13 years and has never changed. After waiting for about an hour she walked to me and told me I was late and missed my appointment so I would have to wait my appointment was made for 4:30 pm I arrived at 4:15. She told me " no your appointment was at 4" At this time I showed her voicemails from there office stating my appointment was at 4:30 as well as my card that showed her my appointment card that said 4:30pm. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away saying ok well I'll tell the doct you weren't late. I waited for another 45 min while everyone else in the office was taken until I was ready to leave. So after about two hours waiting I should have left. Two hours prior to the appointment I was called and told my insurance company had to be called because I had a prior dentist office on my insurance and that I needed to tell them which dentist I would use. I had already called my insurance company and straightened that out they charged me for the tooth full price and I paid but when I asked for an itemized receipt to send to my insurance company they told me no. The heavy set lady was very nasty and was like well we don't take your insurance so there not going to pay . Would have been better to know the office that my office sent me to doesn't take the same insurance? At this time I called the business office and asked if my regular office takes my insurance why doesn't this office they told me they would try to fix the billing to the other office. A week later this lady calls me telling me they don't take my insurance and they never said that. Worst dental experience of my life. read more

I went to see Dr. Blank for a cleaning and to get Clear Correct, basically a lower priced Invisalign. I had a great experience! The cleaning was perfect, they take insurance, and I wasn't charged. The Clear Correct worked wonders and I am so happy with the way my teeth look now - just as great as my friends who had Invisalign at double the price. Dr. Blank is gentle and kind and makes going to the dentist easy - not scary! read more

We moved from the Sachem Holbrook office to the Patchogue office as it was closer to our home. I made an appt for my 19 year old daughter for a cleaning. The appt was at 12:00 and I made it months in advance. Several days before her appt the office called to confirm her 12:00 appt. Then the day before her appt they called again and confirmed her "11:45" appt. I promptly called them back and told them that the appt is for 12:00 and I intentionally made the appt at 12:00 as my daughters school and work schedule prohibits her from making it before 12:00. I was told that although they'd prefer she be there at 11:45, they will accept her arriving by 12:00. She arrived at the office 5 minutes before 12:00 and was told she was late by the receptionist and it would be "a while" before she could be seen. My daughter called me concerned that she'd have to wait since she had work soon. I told her to complete the paperwork they gave her if they weren't ready for her by then she should ask to reschedule her appt. Well, when she did ask to reschedule her appt for a more suitable time, they said they should charge her for the reschedule but they'd let it go this one time. She said the woman behind the desk (Christine) was rude and irritated. When my daughter came home, she said she never wanted to go back there. I called to inquire why they'd tell her she was late when she arrived 5 minutes before the appt I had scheduled for her. The woman was quite abrupt with me as well and sincerely gave the impression that she just didn't care. If someone doesn't like their job, they should find another. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be glad to replace her! And Sachem dental should schedule accordingly. If they want the patient to arrive early for an appointment, they should make the appointment earlier and not assume that people can change their schedule to accommodate the needs of the office staff. read more

This review is purely for the endodontist Dr Ha. I had made an appointment for a consultation with Dr Ha for two root canals. I arrived and was greeted by a very sweet girl who took an xray and told me to sit and wait for the doctor. Dr Ha walked in, looked at my xray then looked at me with a scowl and told me she cannot do anything for me. She was annoyed that the root canal was already started by my dentist (which is typically done in my experience) and that I would now have to either pay a specialist (which I thought she was supposed to be) or have my teeth pulled because no specialist will take my insurance. She then proceeded to throw my chart on the front desk and tell the staff not to bother with my referral and that she is not taking the case. I have never been treated so poorly by a so-called "professional" in my life, even the girls behind the desk looked embarrassed. I left the office in tears. I did however find an amazing endodontist who fixed both my teeth and took my insurance. Shame on you Dr Ha! read more
