I have been shopping at this location for years - today I decided to go through my receipt (my fault). I noticed an item was charged at a higher rate than what was advertised (it was the exact product). There is 3 shelves full of dirty Seasoning. When I mentioned it, the working took the top off and showed it one of the still had the seal. He totally missed the point. Should customers have to clean and dust off these jars and still pay full price? If it's dust from some opened food product, is it sanitary, won't those attract bugs. Just sayin' read more

It's nice to know there's another Ideal Supermarket fairly close to me. I usually travel to the Ideal on Sutphin Blvd. Which is probably 20 mins away from my neighborhood. I stumbled upon this supermarket while picking up my package at the UPS Access Point Locker. Much to my surprise the staff was nice, the place was immaculate and the aisles were easily accessible. They offer hot foods, cold cuts, fresh bakery items, salads, produce, and frozen items. There's also a butcher available along with a small section of fresh seafood. If I'm in the area I would definitely drop in and pick up some grocery items. read more

Ideal has been opened now for almost a yr and I waited to post because I really wanted to see of they were going to maintain the standard they started off with. I gave it four stars because some things are priced on the high side even compared to Path mark and Keyfood. Having said that though the place is clean, th e have whatever you're looking for including a deli counter with fresh food, salads and spreads daily. Some salads and lunch items are pre packaged to go others made to order. They have rotisserie chickens that you can grab and go with for dinner. Additionally they have a well stocked produce section with signature items. Weekly sales are competitive to Keyfood. read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Prices are more than they should be and my card got skimmed there this afternoon. Multiple purchases were made after shopping at this store and when I called the store to report it, there was no sense of urgency with regards to alleviating the problem. No matter how convenient, in terms of location, I will never shop at this store again. read more

I normally do not review new establishments. I was at Citibank across the way and dropped in. It was opening day. I was impressed. I met both managers they were friendly and courteous. Staff was still little rough around edges as they were new I guess. They were helpful and expressed gratitude for visiting. I like it as its open and airy. Deli carries Dietz and Watson not my normal preference Boars Head products. I was suprised at the variety of cheeses they had. Also had a few pre made salads and hot meals. Prices are just a bit above what I normally pay. I would return and do minor shopping here. read more

I have been shopping at Ideal Supermarket for years! I find the service very good. The staff is friendly and informs the customers about the products. The produce section is outstanding with a wide selection of fruits and vegetables. The frozen food section is always well stacked! The manager, Gerry, is polite and business-like! The Appetizing Section offers a wide variety of items from salads, cold cuts, knishes, and a pie section. All in all, a great experience! read more

This used to be the best supermarket. It is clean and always stocked. Since the pandemic of the Coronavirus they have increased their prices. Parkway, country crock should not be over $9. The Easter bun was $13.99 for bread which was originally tagged 2 for $5 and they changed the price when we complained. Evaporated milk is price $1.50 per can for the no frills brand. These grocers are the only ones profiting right now and making it impossible to buy food. 5 bags and I spent nearly $200. Ridiculous. I'll be back when they return to normal. read more

Ideal is a pretty good addition to Rochdale Village. It is conveniently located in the small mall where there are other stores to take care of your shopping needs. The store is well organized with a large produce selection. The prices are reasonable and everything is kept well stocked. The dairy section is vast too with different items to suit your needs. The meat selection is good too and there is a butcher available if you need. The store also has a small fish and seafood selection which is convenient. I purchased a piece of salmon that I cut into 3 servings and it was fresh and cooked well. Other regular staples for shopping are there. In addition, there is a deli area in the front of the store. Hot items and premade sandwiches are also available for purchase. There's also a coffee and tea station which is cool. All in all a good supermarket to use. A loyalty card would be great to continue encouraging customers to keep coming back. read more

What an improvement! I refused to shop at the former supermarket because the smell was awful and the staff always claimed not to "no speak English." Yes, most of Ideal's staff are non-English speaking, but at least they are courteous and they try to help you. And the awful smell is gone. Yippee! The produce section is well stocked and the produce prices are wonderful. So I go there mainly for produce on Wednesday to get the senior discount on non-sale items. The store is clean. Yes, some things are pricey, but that happens everywhere. The sale items are always available, and check-out is quick. The variety is good. This store has been an asset to the Rochdale Village community. Keep up the good work. read more

when they built this supermarket I was happy cuz the 1 before was like garbage. I said that too myself something good for the community prices are a little different from the other supermarket but it's close and it's clean. I'm going to cut to the chase I went in there one night it was kind of late I need something to cook and I came in went down the aisle I got my stuff pay for it when I look back one of the workers was standing there I had no clue why or what he said but ever since that day the security follows me around the store the managers stand by the register make sure I pay for my food which I don't understand because I've worked retail for over 10 years I am a sandy survivor stuck in the store for 3 days with the bosses money and never touched it instead of asking me the rumor in the stories that I'm a thief I don't steal I work too hard steal anything everytime I come to the store I am very respectful to the workers I spend my money in there and to be treated like that I think is wrong couple of times I've came in the store I've heard a guy whistling certain way and is not the first time I am 48 years old at this point in my life I don't need a jail record I am the most honest person that you want to meet I will break my back to help anybody I'll give a homeless guy the last dollar out my pocket. I still shop there but if it keeps up I'm going to make a formal complaint cuz I did want to work there and now my character has been messed up now. I've been stereotyped, defamation of character I've came in the store with my mother and he do the same thing and my wife too we both work hard jobs not to be treated like that in a supermarket. I have one strike against me I don't need two strikes. Please look into this cuz if it keeps up I will confront him about it. Is not just one manager it's both managers they act like they're looking on their phones while standing by the register I'm paying for my stuff please look into this matter cuz I will bring charges against them if it keeps up. Had to serve jury duty today (across the street from here) and went to grab a tossed salad for lunch. It was red and green leaf romaine with grilled chicken, chickpeas, green and red bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots, with a little bit of lemon herb dressing. Well...that was around 1pm when I purchased it and ate it. I didn't eat anything else and began having stomach pain/indigestion around 5:30pm, and the pain got progressively worse. I also had diarrhea in bits and starts, then full blown! I tried to wait on taking anything as my spouse and I are trying to conceive and I just ovulated two days ago. I finally gave in and had ginger ale, then some chamomile tea, and finally Pepto bismol at 10:15. And 15 minutes after that I threw up several times! I think I had poorly prepared food or some kind of food poisoning, and I'm really still feeling sick and crummy. Please be careful and do not consider buying food prepared on site here. I guess the salad guy was either sick or didn't clean something or whatever, but I'm really paying for it now. read more
