Good delicatessen up on hillside ave 179st right across the street from jamaica estates. This deli has been up there for years, and I have been there quite a few times over the years. The staff has always been friendly and cool. Plus they specialize in sandwiches, hot & cold sandwiches to chopped cheese & philly cheeses steak. You name it they make . Also don't forget local F train is literally right outside this 179st deli its attached to the the store.I

In the area today and wanted to try the infamous Chopped Cheese from a local spot. One seventy-ninth seemed like the best choice, so I gave the place a try. I ordered via Uber eats and paid for priority delivery bc I was starving. I went with a chopped cheese hero, turkey ham and cheese on a roll and a small order of fries. My driver arrived about 50 minutes after I ordered. Everything was packaged nicely. I dove right into the chopped cheese. After all, that was the main attraction for me. I found the chopped cheese to be okay. I think it needed more mayonnaise and ketchup bc I could barely taste anything past the lettuce. So, I rate the chopped cheese a 3/5. The fries were ok as well. They might have been better with some ketchup and salt. Those items weren't included with my order. I was too full from the chopped cheese and fries to eat anything else. So, I'm saving the turkey ham and cheese for tomorrow. Overall, I felt 179TH was a decent spot for today.

I've only been here for the chopped cheese. And I have had it enough times that I can say they do it right. I've been here at noon and I've been here at 2 am. Always super fresh bread. Thats the first step to a great sandwich. That chopped cheese gives them the four stars easily. I've had haji's uptown and this might be better. I'll end it there. If you have been having a fun night of drinking and need a late night bite, do yourself a favor and go get that. ENJOY!!!

Overall happy with this place. Staff is efficient and courteous. Beef bacon egg and cheese could use more salt and pepper, but the plus side of that is that it won't drive your blood pressure up higher than it has to. Their bagel with creamcheese with jelly was bomb - I'm a big fan of this meal and they did it right. They ran out of their last everything bagel at 10:20 (I got the last one), so if that's your jam (no pun intended), get there nice and early.

Got a sausage bacon egg and cheese from this deli and got food poisoning along with it. I don't recommend. They also burnt my bagel.

There is plenty of seating for those that choose to dine inside. Forming a line from the door when you walk inside. There are many employees behind the counter working in unison, the line moved Swifty. The decor is a cross between a pizza shop and a coffee shop. I gathered that this is a Kosher Bagel place IYKYK! So, looking around I see all sorts of bagels and I found out that the bagels are all hand made/ rolled! They have salad, pancake for $3 a piece. And, pause... They have pizza! I purchased a plain bagel with cream cheese, a Poppy seed bagel with scallion cream cheese, and 2 pancakes for $3 a piece. Everything is to go, the meter is running with 20 minutes reserved. I got home ready to dig in, placed one $3 cake in the toaster oven, although they did warm it up. Added sausage no syrup yet. It's half cooked not edible, $6 in the trash. They were very heavy as well. I'm glad I bought extra food. The bagel was lightly toasted and they put a mound of cream cheese on them. Sloppy joe's held together better than this. The guy serving said that they are number 1, they can be that, for convenience sake. This trip was not impressive enough for a return visit. And they have a return policy, it's no refunds! Areas of improvement, pizza looking days old should not be out that early. It's not appealing. I'm just saying... Inspire more, Yelp more!
