The representative that I had lied to me. I was told that I would have a lifetime membership once i finished paying for my plan. She told me my touch up's would be free..Once I finished paying for my treatment plan. I was then told that they would discount my treatment at 75% and that they wasn't free. The representative that sold me this plan was no longer employed with them...I had peach fuzz hair in the corner of my lip and during my treatments I noticed it became increasingly thicker. This plan wasn't cheap. Disappointed by the drastic price increase for touch-ups!!!! I've never had a bad experience with my laser sessions or touch-ups at Ideal Image. In fact, I even purchased additional areas earlier this year and have been a loyal client since 2022. However, my most recent visit in June 2025 left me truly disappointed. I went in for a touch-up on my lower legs, and the price had tripled compared to what I used to pay. The cost for just that one area is now almost the same as what I previously paid for three areas combined. That kind of price increase feels unreasonable--especially considering that if you need touch-ups multiple times a year, it's almost like paying for the full treatment all over again. What's even more frustrating is that those of us who purchased areas years ago were told our membership included "special pricing" for future touch-ups. There was no warning that those prices would no longer apply or that there would be such a drastic shift. As a long-time customer, I expected more transparency and consistency. this review is a reflection on ideal image as a company. As of May 1 2025 ideal image has had an almost 150% price increase on their touch up appointment fees. Previously my touch ups for under arms was $40, they are now charging $99. I would like to add that I already paid Ideal Image $500 for a lifetime membership to receive touch ups. During my recent appointment when I expected to pay $120 for my touch ups (I have multiple areas I get lasered) I was told under the new pricing I would be expected to pay $328. It's outrageous. I've been to the Gainesville, FL and Marietta, GA location and always had pleasant experiences. As for the Bethesda Row location, I went to treat 10 areas for laser hair removal. My technician was Liz and she did a phenomenal job. She was patient when I needed a quick break or she was quick when I needed her to speed it up lol. She also was the first person to introduce me to icing areas that are more sensitive prior to actually starting the treatment which was so helpful for the bikini area. I've had an overall positive and professional experience at Ideal Image Bethesda Row. Im currently receiving laser hair removal, and will need to go in every 6-8 weeks for a treatment to complete my series (9-12 treatments total). My services have been performed by nurse practitioners (Im fairly certain), and they all have been knowledgeable, proficient, and personable. Parking is so easy, as there are 2 parking garages located on either side of Ideal Image. The facility is kept clean and organized, and hand sanitizer is readily available. Everyone follows a covid protocol, by wearing masks, checking temperatures, and providing a brief verbal questionnaire about possible exposure and symptoms before the onset of your appointment. If you're considering laser hair removal, especially if you have a deeper skin tone, Ideal Image is for you because they have 2 types of lasers, one of which is specifically suited for deeper skin tones. So far Ive received 2 treatments, and I have not burned, and Ive had phenomenal results measured by hair loss in the treated areas. They also provide skin wipes before and after treatment, as well as aloe vera gel to place on skin after treatment. Overall, I highly recommend..and Ideal Image offers a variety of other services, which I hope to take try out one day! read more

Read the small print!! I was offered a payment plan but wasn't told I was signing up for a credit card. I also wasn't told the plan expired within a year. I paid for the services but was later (scheduling was difficult) told the payment had expired. I was made to wait more that 15 minutes but was turned away because I was more than 15 minutes late. I recently was told over the phone that they would extend my payment plan and was scheduled for treatment. However, after waiting an hour they told me my plan had indeed expired. While waiting I heard two other patients complain - one reported feeling mislead about the payment plan, and another was rescheduled twice last minute due to staffing issues. The clinicians were nice and competent, and I am still hopeful they will approve my "case" to extend my plan, but warn others to read the small print with this clinic, and be prepared to be very flexible. read more

This has been a whirlwind of an experience and just as I was looking forward to my last appointment this coming weekend, I received another cancellation. Ideal Image has done this multiple times. During my January visit (which was cancelled and rescheduled last minute), I made my last two appointments before checking out of the center for the day. They called to reschedule the March appointment which wasn't overly annoying since it was a little more convenient to me, but when I received another cancellation saying my technician hasn't been employed there in 2 months, I was floored. I'm confused how appointments aren't immediately flagged and rescheduled when someone is no longer an employee. I'm still waiting on confirmation for yet ANOTHER rescheduled appointment. I wrote the following review on google in December and apparently four months later, this ridiculous scheduling practice is still taking place. I would not recommend this location AT ALL. Google Review: While I'm pleased with my current services, the pricing for add on services seems to be exorbitant compared to net new services at a different facility. The providers and hair removal treatments are great. No complaints there. However, I have never had such horrible experiences with scheduling appointments and contacting customer service. I have had multiple appointments cancelled the week of, without any offer or suggestion of a solution. the wait period between treatments is typically 8-10 weeks, yet most of my treatments happen way outside that suggestion. There never seems to be any availability for appointments and they are incredibly unhelpful in rescheduling. I've had one appointment cancelled and rescheduled three separate times, over the course of four months. The whole purpose of having a strict timeline for hair removal is to make sure each treatment is effective. Having to constantly reschedule appointments is detrimental to the success of the treatments. My contract is close to expiring (one year), and I am no where close to having had enough treatments on the area's I paid for. I wouldn't have needed the whole year to get the results I desired, and now I'm going to have to either extend my contract or go somewhere else to complete the treatments. But what wasn't fine it that they had me put in my card information but never told me they would be charging it 1,729 dollars without even scheduling an appointment and being told that it can take up for 4 days to schedule an appointment. Then I find out this morning it was charged, and I called to get a refund, but it can take 4 days for them to submit a refund process and 15 days to potential see my redund come through. Service 4 stars, most of the practitioners don't recommend pain medication to start out. If you don't insist the first session or 2 will be very painful. They will not allow any numbing cream except for the one by their partnering speciality pharmacy. Other than that I liked the practitioners. Of course some are better than others Contract 0 stars: honestly the contract was predatory. I was given 16 months for "unlimited" treatments. 5 sessions for treatment plus 4 touch up. Scheduling was a complete nightmare so I did not achieve the full 9 treatments and was told I was treated since o managed 5. Scheduling 0 stars: again,it is an absolute nightmare. I was unable to get most of my appointments in the 6-8 week window for treatment. Many sessions were 8-16 weeks apart. They are incredibly unforgiving if you need to reschedule an appointment even 2 weeks or more in notice. I managed to get one contract extension after having a mental breakdown about not being able to reschedule my last appointment before the end of the contract, and crying that due to the death in the family I could not make my scheduled appointment work. With the contract extension, I only managed 6 or 7 appointments. My contract was priced based off 9 appointments (5 treatment and 4 touch up). The providers are excellent, quick and effective. The problem with Ideal Image is you can never seem to get directly through to the actual office you're trying to get ahold of - instead it's the national one. I had been enjoying my routing of going to this location every 6-8 weeks until the end of December last year. I showed up for my appointment and was told that the machines were sparking and needed to be fixed. The receptionist told me she was writing down everyone whose appointments had to be rescheduled and that they would be in touch. Two weeks later, I still hadn't received a call back so I called what I thought was a direct line, but of course I ended up talking to a National person. And then I was told there were no appointments that I could be slotted in for anytime soon and that I would be put on a wait list. So let me get this straight - my initial appointment got canceled because of an issue at the facility. Then I never get a call back. And then on top of that I'm out on a waitlist. Not pleased. This place has been such a pain to work with! I initially chatted with them about coolsculpting, signed up while on the call and was going to pay with financing - of course they 'couldn't find space in the schedule' and I had to schedule about 6 weeks out, conveniently after the 1st payment would be due. I called to cancel my appointments several weeks before they were scheduled and asked for my financing to also be cancelled as I did not, and will not be receiving any services - I was told by the gruff person on the phone that they couldn't do anything about it, I would have to take it up with the financing company which I did. The company shared with me that Ideal Image is extremely difficult to work with, and that they would have to start a financing dispute to get their money back, and in the meantime I would still have to make payments because the agreement wasn't cancelled. After two weeks I get a call from a blocked number, someone from Ideal Image who was 'trying to see if they could help' as they received notice of a finance dispute. Second time they called they actually left an audible call-back number, which surprise surprise went to nowhere and nobody answered, and I was hung up on without being able to leave a message. Let's say you have cancel your bikini treatment due to your cycle , guess what, next one will be available 1,5 month from now. I went to Ideal Image because I thought they were a trusted reputable company but they are everything but that. Unfortunately, I suffered from a vascular occlusion after receiving lip fillers from the Bethesda location. While this is considered a risk with lip fillers, I was told by their staff that this occurred because the individual injecting me, went too deep and that it was done incorrectly. Aside from this, I was worried immediately after my filler was done that I was having a vascular occlusion and asked the staff to double check. While someone else came into the room and did a "capillary refill" test, I was still told everything was fine and sent home. In the following six days, I called ideal image numerous times to express my concerns and symptoms. I was told I could not be seen until almost two weeks after my appointment, I had to continuously vouch for myself (as I was not being taken seriously) and tell them they need to figure out a sooner date. They got me in two days later (six days after my filler was done) and as expected, I was suffering from a vascular occlusion and needed to have the filler dissolved immediately which was undoubtably one of the most painful things I've endured. I want to reiterate that I went six days suffering from a vascular occlusion and was pushed completely aside; this could have cost me my life. After the failure to properly diagnose the vascular occlusion prior to me leaving my filler appointment and the neglect in the following days, they refuse to give me a refund and expect that I would want to receive filler here again as that's all I've been offered. My recommendation is save yourself the headache and go to a practice where there is a doctor always there (because they literally have none), where they actually know what they are doing and where they truly do care about their clients and not just the sale. read more

My experience with ideal image has nothing to do with COVID and I want to make that clear. The issue comes from the completely incompetent staff and how this company only cares about making money and NOT their costumers. I sent in an inquiry for laser hair removal via Instagram and a consultant named Andrea at the ideal image in Bethesda row contacted me in reference to my interest. We set up a consultation zoom and I was able to ask all the questions that I had about the procedure itself, pre and post care and payment. The first reg flag that I immediately noticed about ideal image was the marketing. The 39.99 monthly cost is the underarms only which is fine if you call to clarify but it is misleading. Also, Andrea told me the cost of the treatment was 75% off which is obviously false and that for today only there was another 15% off, which is just plain marketing scheme. Then the marketer will call and text you repeatedly which is extremely irritating and pushy but I was still polite to set up the first consult. I asked a few major questions regarding the procedure which I later found out that she answered incorrectly and due to that I wasted time, money, effort and energy. I told her that I had terrible ingrown hairs after shaving and she told me that my existing ingrown hairs would have NO effect on the treatment and that 15% of the hair would be eliminated per treatment guaranteed. Once I had my first appointment at Bethesda row the nurse informed me that ingrown/skin irritation absolutely effects the treatment Procedure and results and that only 10% of the hair will be removed per treatment, again misleading. I was not able to receive the treatment during my initial in office appointment because I was not told during my consultation that I could not wear any artificial tanner to the appointment or have sun exposure for weeks prior! The nurse explained to me that if she used the laser on me it could permanently burn and scar my skin! This information was not only important but vital to this treatment and I was just now hearing about it at my appointment!! When I asked the nurse why no one told me this information before she told me that the people on the phone aren't trained that well and give out bad information (I'm just assuming they work for commission). I left upset but confident that I now knew all of the information that I needed to know. I scheduled another appointment 2 weeks later and this time another nurse informed me that I would be ineligible for laser hair removal based on my skin type and hair color. She explained to me that my light skin combined with my red hair would not pick up in the laser and therefore the treatment would be overall unsuccessful. So now this is the second time that I've drove for an hour to come into ideal image to not only not be treated but have my service canceled all together. OKAY fine, stuff happens and I am a VERY understanding person but when I left the appointment they told me someone would be contacting me regarding a refund yet no one did. I called customer service and she informed me that I would be refunded everything back except for the laser gel and sunscreen which is over $100. Now I'm really upset because I know for a FACT Andrea told me "skin care products are included at no additional charge". And if you're going to say something about this being a clause in the contract, that's really scammy of ideal image because I would not have had to go through this entire ordeal AT ALL if at the original consultation I was giving the full list of pertinent information and not mislead multiple times into thinking this treatment was for me. I have had two HUGE positive experiences here. Absolutely amazing and friendly staff that goes seriously ABOVE AND BEYOND. Doing CoolSculpting. The NP Sam explained every step of the process before application and really made me feel comfortable and relaxed before and after. She made a somewhat uncomfortable process COMFORTABLE. She was very patient with me and even loaned me her phone charger which was just so kind. I really hope to work with her again. I am not sure of her title, but I some how got so lucky to get a hold of Allison S. at the Bethesda location calling the 1800 number after having a lot of difficulty getting through to the main offices in my area. She was an ANGEL. She was able to answer all of my questions (if she didn't know the answer she was honest and just went and asked for help), and actually worked for at least 20 mins with me to book some more appointments. She also called me back later in the day at a time we scheduled so that she could help me buy more "units" and got me an amazing deal and helped me with fixing more of my appointments (working with me for around an hour!) When I had an emergency come up that day the next time they could schedule me was September. September comes and they cancel my appointment through an email and never called me. When I called them the next available appointment is November 30th. This is the worst experience to provide for customers who pay in advance and on top of that, they don't offer refunds, probably because they would go out of business with the amount of people who want their money back. I would like to start by saying that my injector, Blaine, was great. Too bad she was no longer with Ideal Image when I went to book a touch up. I tried to book a touch up over the phone and the receptionist spent about 8 minutes trying to sell me on a membership I had no interest in. In trying to book my appointment, she said I had to know the number of units and pay for them in advance. How would I know how many units my face needs, shouldn't my injector be the one to decide that? She then went to go look at my chart to tell me how many units I had and where, which may be a HIPPA violation. According to the receptionist, the reason that I had to choose the number of units in advance and pay for them is because there isn't enough TIME built into the appointment for the injector to assess how many units I need and for the place to charge me for them. What!? Why would I go somewhere to get toxins injected into my face when they don't have the time to tell me exactly how much I need and run my credit card?! I have two units left with them and they can have it. I'm never going back. read more

Ideal Image engages in some of the worst deliberate understaffing I've ever seen, and I think the complaints mentioned in other reviews are a result of it. They make it easy to pay for a treatment, then extremely difficult to schedule it. Additionally, they will recommend you purchase a "lifetime guarantee membership" (an annual membership that is difficult/impossible to cancel online) which comes with a "free service." Accessing this free service has lots of arbitrary constraints surrounding scheduling, which my salesperson did not mention before accepting payment. My salesperson told me I would have a year to schedule the free treatment, when I really lost it in the first month or so. I had even been coordinating scheduling this free service with the same ideal image rep via email, who eventually ghosted me. Then, a second representative told me I have to call to schedule. It was then that I found out my free service had expired before the end of the year, and when I mentioned what I had been told, the salesperson simply informed me that my contract's details contained these restrictions. From her completely unsurprised and unsympathetic tone, I doubt it's uncommon for this type of false promise to happen. Additionally, over half of my appointments across all ideal image locations involved my waiting at least 20 minutes for my provider. However, if YOU, the CUSTOMER, are late by 15 minutes or more, your appointment will be cancelled as per their policy. Also, I saw one guy at the Bethesda location have his appointment get cancelled for being 14 minutes late, but the real reason his provider wouldn't see him was because she wasn't finished with my appointment, which I showed up on time for. read more

This location is so poorly run and no matter how many messages you leave to have someone call you, no one ever follows through! The location is new and has many issues to iron out. I confirmed my appointment twice both by email and text but when I arrived it had been canceled internally and no one knew why. According to the manager the good news was I could come back that day 3 hours later- as though I lived around the corner I joined the membership and made another appointment and waited 1 month to get in and once again confirmed by email and text and two days before my appointment they cancelled and said the provider had been let go. Again no one called me back even after leaving several messages and speaking to two different women at the front desk Don't bother joining this Med spa it's a waste of money! read more

This review is not about the quality of service as I was not able to get to that point. I contacted the place (willing to spend quite a bit of money after a thorough research) to get a quote and set up an appointment. Instead, I was told that procedure I wanted is not for me (which is fine, that may be true) and also they can't offer any alternatives. The lady was not rude, it just felt like they don't really need clients. Since the issue I asked about is as common as moles, I guess they are quite limited in the services offered; if you need a thorough examination and would like to know all available alternatives for your specific issues, please go somewhere else. read more

Do NOT go with Ideal Image. Scheduling with them has been a nightmare (and nightmare is an understatement). They regularly cancel their appointments and cannot reschedule you for months (at any location, not just Bethesda) so you end up missing several treatment windows. Not worth paying good money for ineffective treatment. read more

I was not treated and was sent back from the office after I indicated that I spent 30 minutes outside walking my dog with a 46SPF and a hat covering my face several days prior - the practitioner refused to treat me due to "sun exposure". She basically said that more than 20 minutes outside in the last 4 weeks is disqualifying from treatment! If your office has such insane rules for spending time outside then you better warn your customers BEFORE the appointment. What a waste of my time to travel to your office, wait 30 minutes for a late appointment and be sent back! The next available appointment in 2 months! The staff was unprofessional, uncaring just scrolling on their phone while I asked for any possible accommodations, told me to call the main customer service line. read more

I hadn't done too much research on this place before making an appointment so when I looked at the reviews on here I was very nervous. A lot of reviews mentioned appointments being canceled last minute so I didn't know what to expect. But the day before and the day of I received a text reminding me of my appointment time so I took that as a good sign. My appointment was for coolsculpting, I showed up 10 minutes before my appointment, they checked me in and maybe 2 minutes later I was called back. The lady I had was really nice and explained everything about the procedure, what I may or may not experience, and answered any questions that I had. Overall it was a pretty good experience despite the reviews for this place. Scheduling was a little difficult at first as other people mentioned but with an account it's pretty easy to go in and see what day and times are available and to reschedule as needed. read more

Warning! Ideal Image appears to be oversubscribed with clients and is NOT ABLE to honor requests for appointments/contracts with clients in a timely manner if even at all. To be clear, I am VERY disappointed with the services provided by Ideal Image. I keep getting the run around when I call them to get an appointment booked. I have been with Ideal Image for over 15+ years under a lifetime contract and currently visit the Bethesda Row location. I've witnessed the customer service and ability to honor service appointments requests steadily decline over the years, with the exception of 1 or 2 practitioners who have been good. I have been trying to make an appointment for laser hair removal and have found out that it is next to impossible to do so using the app and that one needs to call customer service. When I call the Bethesda location -- no one answers and the phone rings continuously to no avail. It then gets forwarded to their toll-free customer representative line, where the rep informs me that they've recently changed the system and are not able to see schedule availabilities for more than 7 days in advance. With no surprise, the next 7 days are all booked solid. Hence the only recommendation the rep could provide was to call back again in 7 days to try my luck. This is simply unacceptable! What good is a lifetime package if you're not able to make any follow-up appointments as needed?! This is not the first time it has happened; their schedule availabilities are next to impossible to book. I've always looked passed it (and have taken appointments that are for 6 weeks out) but I've decided that they've reached an all-time low now (i.e., no ability to forecast any availability beyond 7 days). read more
