This wasn't mentioned and caused delays. Be home during the install if possible--it's helpful to see how things are done and learn yard care tips. Ask for a brush-up service around 9-12 months after install. (Ours is still new, but we'll update once that happens.) Regret: We didn't upgrade to Cool Turf. It heats up just like the weather--something to consider if you live in a hot climate. Our Experience: We chose Big Tex Turf because they matched key items from another quote, had great reviews, and guaranteed completion before a big home event. We paid in full, so can't speak to financing. Our sales rep (Zach) started strong, but was hard to reach after booking. When weather delayed our install and left a large sand pile in the street (a safety and HOA issue), we couldn't get a hold of him--even the install team had trouble. I had to step in and offer a temporary tarp/cone solution myself. Tip: Texting a team member is more effective than calling. Calls go to the main office. Despite the sales rep gap, the installation team was excellent. They were efficient, professional, and finished the job in one day. Cleanup was great, and they came back as early as 7 AM to resolve post-install questions. 2-Year Follow-Up (as of 5/14/2025): Almost two years later, customer service remains solid. We've had a few normal turf issues and they've addressed every one quickly. The lawn still looks great--we're overall very happy. The carpenters began the work on Saturday and in 6 hours have the walls and joists up. The work continued on Monday. Adian, Juan, Homer and the crew were very fast and efficient with materials. They listened to my concerns and were very supportive. They got them whole job done by Tuesday, on time and on budget and cleaned up the site. I've had several friends over since and they were really impressed with the build quality and thoroughness. It's really nice when you show off your project and the Monday morning quarterbacks can't make any comments on how this or that should have been done better. I agreed and within two weeks he had prepped, primed, and painted two coasts on my 96' of metal fencing. I'm very pleased with the work done and the caliber of his workers. He used Sherwin Williams external paint, very high quality, which showed he knows his stuff No big box paint here. I highly recommend his work! By the way while he was here for a follow-up & I showed him a zero turn mower seat that the seat pan had cracked. I asked if he could weld it for me and he did it on the spot. They finally came back and charged me an additional $1800. They supposedly put a pump under my house to pump excess water from underneath. The pump has never worked. I started having problems again with my foundation. I contacted them and they asked me to send pictures. I told her that pictures could not reveal the problem and they needed to come see it. I haven't heard from them since. I currently have a new contractor working on my foundation. They showed me what Star Foundation did versus what needed to be done properly. They did not use treated wood and a lot of the bricked they used were old small broken up pieces. Needless so I'm paying them $16200 to redo Star Foundation's work and do the job properly. Please avoid this company or you will definitely regret doing business with them. The work they did for me is still under warranty but they will not honor it. CROOKS!!!
