I enjoyed the sashimi and the salmon nigiri that was torched with cream sauce. I got the mushroom hot pot and it was delicious with the beef. I was not a fan of the lamb. It made my whole broth làmby and I couldn't eat the hot pot any more. The Cajun crab was a bit salty. The fried shrimp was good. The snails were delicious too. The service was great and they were refilling the food. Do I recommend this place? Yes, they have greatly improved and every one deserves a second chance. It's $39.95 per person for dinner. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. Bento box The Bento box lunch specials here are fully customizable (based upon a set list of items of course), which is nice as you can get as you can really have it your way (written in the B.K. theme song tone). We both elected to get the sushi, teriyaki chicken and salmon respectively. The lunch special bento boxes also come with standard white rice, a small salad with sesame dressing and miso soup. The beto boxes are truly filling for their size which I acredit to the rice from both the sushi and the portion that comes with the lunch. The teriyaki was perfectly balanced as it wasn't too salty which was perfect as when it tastes overwhelmingly savory, masking other flavors like sweetness and garlic. Conversely, the miso soup was a bit too salty for my liking. Sometimes the saltiness in miso soup can vary depending on the type and amount of miso paste used. I didnt think to tell the staff that I required something lower in sodium which is my fault. We also ordered another sushi role that was made with crispy salmon, jalapeno, spicy mayo, Sriracha and seaweed. The sushi role was crunchy and had a nice kick of flavor. I also had the veggie ramen (no tofu) , they said it didn't come with menma or bean sprouts so I added those along with a seasoned egg (which didn't make its way into my order) . seeing photos of the menu on yelp shows it came with bean sprouts and menma but those photos are a couple years old so maybe that changed - or I got over charged.( i'll report back on that) The veggie ramen was good over all but it was $20.50 after adding in 2 veggie items and an egg. there was 3 bok choy leaves through out the whole bowl.(leaves not heads)z I called as soon as I got home and noticed the $2 egg was missing and they said they would refund the egg. Thai tea was good, perfect flavor and sweetness however the boba was a tad soft a few pieces kinda fell apart on the first chew.
