I'm the envy of all my fellow golfers and friends with a backyard! After multiple quotes, I chose Ideal Turf for the friendly, responsive, and honest experience. (They were also one of the best values but that was just icing on the cake.) Some companies just want to give you a quote over the phone using google as a guide, but Ideal Turf sent Cameron to my house with products samples for me to inspect and for him to see the project landscape. Afterwards, I was contacted by Sai, the operations manager, and he sent Pablo (the installer) to my house for a final measurement and to review the details a creative and specific request. I wasn't sure how everything would work but I had a vision. It was very encouraging to have someone to talk through my vision and explain to me how we could accomplish it. I didn't want a standard, small, circular putting green. I wanted to visually enhance the yard while providing a entertaining platform for myself, the kids, the wife, and guests. Pablo made it all happen in a timely manner (1 FULL day to install over 500 sq ft and a small tee box to chip from about 20 yards away from the putting green). The attention to detail with all my request were more than upheld and they cleaned up every inch of the project to leave the place immediately ready for action! A really awful experience Poor work quality Poor communication/responsiveness Poor customer service In November 2020, we used IdealTurf to install turf in a very small yard behind our townhome, which was no small investment. The overall work quality was okay -- the edging and finishing was a little rough, but the turf looked pretty good at first. After a month or so, we noticed that it was pulling up at the seams -- large clumps of turf coming up leaving bare patches around the yard. We called them for weeks to see if they could address the problem. They came out a few times and tried to patch/repair the turf, but the problem never went away. After months of back and forth, they finally replaced the turf in late summer 2021. The second install looked much better and did not have as many seams, but pretty quickly a new problem emerged -- drainage. We have one drain that services our backyard. IdealTurf recommended that we cover the drain with turf because it's more aesthetically pleasing and they assured us it would still drain properly. It quickly became clear that was not the case, and even with light to medium rain, our backyard now floods (see photos). We called numerous times to get support -- they would never get back to us and when they finally did, they said they were not responsible for drainage (even though they covered the drain with turf!) After continued calls, they finally sent someone to look at the drain this summer. The gentleman very clearly said that the turf must not have been installed over the drain properly, and more importantly, he said the turf looked terrible for being less than a year old. It is matted, it lays unevenly and it is starting to pull up. He said they would repair the drain and would submit a warranty claim to replace the turf. Weeks and months go by -- we call to get updates on the replacement, and every time we speak with someone, they said they are still waiting for approval. We finally connected with someone who said we again needed to have a repair tech look at the yard. We scheduled an appointment last week but no one showed up. After several follow-up calls, IdealTurf is now totally unresponsive. So, after two years, we are finally giving up. We need our drain repaired before it starts to rain this fall, and we need to have the turf replaced. And unfortunately, we are going to have to pay another company to do it. I hope others can learn from our experience -- there are many other companies that install turf. read more

The artificial grass that Ideal Turf Fort Worth installed in our backyard has transformed our lives! The owner must not know much about his business, because all jobs are custom, and like carpet the turf is cut from a roll to fit the specifications on site, not at the warehouse. My job was two weeks out and had not even left the warehouse when I cancelled. I have since used another company that walked me through every step. I remain steadfast in my belief that Ideal Turf was fraudulent in not returning my full deposit. read more

Hi I'm going to have to give this company one star, I have been trying for months to get a warranty item fixed soon after they reinstalled my entire turf for poor workmanship. I'm glad others had good experiences but I'm guessing they haven't had to call in for any warranty work yet. It would be nice if someone answered the main phone number, responded to emails or called me back. So far I have had to go to the extreme of messaging the owner himself on LinkedIn only to never get a response back from him either after telling me to try the website which had already been done. In the beginning they are great right until they finish the job and get your money. I am happy to share my experience with any new potential clients. I was very happy with our sales person Logan when he came out to do the bid. He was efficient and knowledgeable. Samantha in the office helped me make my initial down payment and communicated well via email. After that, Logan pretty much just dropped the ball with our project, admitting at one time he had forgotten about our installation. So, now to the best part. Ivan and his crew were awesome. He communicated well and really knows his turf! His crew worked tirelessly and even though it wasn't his regular guys, they followed instructions efficiently and without hesitation. Our final walk through was detailed and informative, he never tired of my questions or hesitated to make any suggestions I needed to know about after care. The process from start to finish was very frustrating. Once the sale was made everything went down hill. For obvious reasons in the lack of communication between their sales agents, operations team and overall management. Its highly demotivating when you have to micromanage a project and is still not completed to what was promised. They fail to uphold their company word of 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed. What was communicated and agreed on between us failed to be communicated to the operations team that installs the putting green, which we learned is outsource to a different company. None the less every challenge we encountered was due to an incredible lack of management and communication. We wish we went with SYNLawn or one of the other four companies we met with. read more

I hired Ideal Turf to install a putting green on my property. The install date was 10/30/22 it is now 2/27/23 and the job is not complete to satisfaction. I have been in communication with the sales team, operation team, and have tried to reach the corporate office. The green looked good the afternoon of the install but the very next morning the green was severely wrinkled and pulling away from the cups. I called the office and was directed to the operations team; they sent a crew out to reservice the green and the crew that came out went to compacting the green right on top of the turf which did no good. Now I have a wrinkled green with a dark impaction ring around the whole perimeter of the green. I called in again and was told they were going to come out and replace the turf with a new product that they were going to be using from here on out. I have yet to see anyone back out and now can only get voicemails from all team's sales, operations, and corporate office. I have a business that has been operating since 2002 and if I left a customer this long in the lurch, I would be out of business which leads me to this question. How can Ideal Turf sleep at night knowing they are not doing for their customers as they say they will do? I would not recommend Ideal Turf to anyone. read more

Had a side yard finished out as a play area for the kids. Did it really quickly in one afternoon. Price was better than three other companies and they were the only one who brought samples when reviewing the site. This company has probably the worst display of Customer service I have ever dealt with. Let's begin with day 1. They said they would service our house between 8 and 9 am. This was the only day they had the courtesy to let us know they were running late (though I should note they said they were only running an hour late). They showed up at my house at noon. They didn't finish the job the same day as originally planned (which is fine) but we asked them to come back anytime other than the next morning, as we had a surgery scheduled. They agreed to come back the next day in the afternoon and would call before showing up. What do you think happened? They came in the morning while we were not home to finish the job. This didn't give us an opportunity to provide feedback, which was very desperately needed given the poor job that was done. There were air bubbles everywhere. No one called to ask us how the job went. No one checked in to see if we were satisfied. Instead, I had to call and let them know someone needed to come fix everything. They agreed to come out on that Saturday morning at 8 am to fix it. What do you think happened on Saturday morning? They were a no show. No call, no text. I had to reach out to them to figure out why someone was running late without a courtesy call and ultimately why no one showed up at all. They rescheduled for That following Monday at 8 pm (yes, 8 pm after a no show). When they came out to fix it, they just left after they were done without letting us know they were finished. They did a half decent job fixing it and our turf remains messed up. Extremely dissatisfied is an understatement.
