If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Living here has been nothing but a nightmare from day one. The apartments are absolutely ROACH INFESTED, and management does nothing about it no matter how many times you complain. Paying this ridiculously high rent is insulting when you're sharing your space with bugs and living in conditions that are unacceptable. The so-called "amenities" are a complete joke -- half of them don't even work and the ones that do are barely maintained. Yet, they still advertise them proudly like they're offering some kind of luxury experience. Trust me, there is nothing luxurious about broken facilities, dirty common areas, and equipment that's constantly out of order. The staff is beyond rude and unprofessional. Every time you go down to the office to make a request or ask for help, you're either ignored, brushed off, or talked to like you're a problem. They have no sense of urgency whatsoever. You can submit maintenance requests over and over, and weeks go by with no updates or fixes. Meanwhile, you're the one paying the price literally and figuratively. There is zero sense of community here. The only thing you feel is frustration and regret for ever signing a lease. The management clearly does not care about their residents. They only care about collecting your money while providing the bare minimum in return. Save yourself the headache, the stress, and the wasted money. Do not move here. It's one of the worst living experiences I've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Unfortunately, I would give zero stars if I could. This has been the worst experience I've ever had. The management at Identity does not respect residents' rights -- no matter how many times you call, email, or speak to them in person, they do not enforce the lease agreement or community rules. I do not recommend this place at all. All the one-star reviews are accurate. On top of poor management, the apartment is full of cockroaches and always dirty. It's been 33 days (over a month) dealing with the same issue and violation of the agreement, and the only response I get is that they are "working on it." NO PARKING I have been trying to get parking in the two years that I have lived in this building and have not been able to do so as the parking in the garage is extremely limited. They used to allow you to park during business hours in the first floor garage, but they just sold that entire lot to nearby businesses and have significantly increased the frequency of towing in the last year. The businesses in question are still being constructed and there is a lot of noise from that as well. If you want to have a guest stay the night, they need to pay $50 per night for street parking (if there is any), and you can't even lend them your parking spot (if you have one) because the spots are assigned to one car's license plate and the guest would be towed. The nearest accessible parking is at FIU PG 5, which is a half mile away. If you are graduating and do not have an assigned lot spot, you will not be able to park anywhere at all for the summer after graduation. Many people in this building have to use escooters to get to campus and back because of the parking problem, and they have recently put up flyers making it unclear whether they will fine you for owning a scooter. The apartments are just ok. There have been insect problems and one time in the past year we were without water for several days. Again, the parking situation here is abysmal. If you want to have a friend or significant over management has made that nearly impossible without making that person uber there and back. Management selling all visitor parking to other businesses has only exacerbated this issue, and now those guests could not even come during business hours, as they will be towed at any hour of the day. read more

I've read a lot of the reviews and they are either very good or very bad. This is my opinion. I love my unit. I think if you ignore the long walk with weirdly colored walls you can enjoy the apartment. However since I live by the trash chute sometimes there is a really bad smell (I'm talking gag worthy) but that's not super often and they clean it pretty quickly. The trash room is full of roaches though and I'm sure that's where everyone else's roaches come from. The halls don't get cleaned nearly as much as they should and the trash in the parking garage is usually overflowing. Parking was a pain to get but the staff was nice enough to give me one of their parking spots so I wouldn't have to park on the street anymore. However I have gotten towed from that parking spot (that I pay 100$ a month for). I see a lot of people saying the staff is bad but I've had great experiences with them. Maintenance requests aren't usually dealt with in a timely manner and if you don't specify that you only want them to come into your unit when you are there they will enter whenever they feel like weather you are there or not. The few common spaces they have are nice and they have a lot of fun things that you can go to like movie and waffle nights. There are a lot of parties that the residents plan that start at around 7pm and go to well after midnight. The music is VERY loud and will keep you up at night and the next day the first floor is covered in dirt and drinks and it doesn't get cleaned for a few days. Also they clog up the elevators so residents end up having to take the stairs so they don't have to sit in a packed elevator. Speaking of the elevators are very slow and they don't have ac. And even though I love my unit the walls are very thin (I can hear my neighbors alarm go off in the morning) but even after all of this I did renew my lease, mainly because there is no where else to go and everywhere else is at least 500$ more a month. read more

Also they will charge you for some random fees if they feel like it (for no reason at all), the administration is terrible. I was charged to pay for a shower cap that I didn't break. Someone also stole my toolbox. They sell you this image of there constantly being snacks in the lobby-didn't happen once when I was there. Identity Miami is one of the worst places to stay near the FIU campus. To begin with, the elevators barely ever work, and most time one elevator works at a time. The electricity always goes in and out every other day it seems like, especially when it rains. I live near the end of the hall way where the trash shoots are and the stench walking to my apartment makes me want to throw up. It's embarrassing bringing company to my apartment though the poorly lit hall ways. The walls in the apartments are thin! I can literally hear my neighbors conversations on the phone. People are constantly running up and down through out the hallways, playing ding dong ditch!!! It's HARD to bring your groceries up being that there is only 4-5 floors of garage parking. Imagine living on the 15th floor and you have to lug your groceries to your apartment. There isn't much parking for visitors. Visitors have to park on the outside of the building while paying for a parking spot. If you decide to stay in a studio and four bedroom apartment keep in mind that you will be sharing an electricity meter with three other people. So, if anyone goes over the $30 per person that we are provided with each month, you have to pay the additional fees as well. A friend of mine that stays on the 7th floor got Vitamin D deficiency because her one bedroom apartment doesn't get any light what so ever. The fire alarm goes off during the worst of times! Even at hours in the morning, just for it to be a false alarm! There aren't much study areas on the property. The management here sucks! They take so long to respond back to emails and calls! You could send a follow up message everyday to whom you're trying to reach and they still will take a week or so to respond! The security here is a joke! AND NOT TO MENTION THE RENT! EVERY YEAR SINCE IVE BEEN HERE THE RENT HAS GONE UP! IF YOURE AN INTERNATIONAL PERSON YOU HAVE TO PAY A CONVENIENCE FEE OF $63 EXTRA JUST FOR HAVING AN INTERNATIONAL CARD! Identity has lied so many times to me. Recently I signed "best rate" which is $924 and they promised they would notify me when the rate was lowered. Then I was with a friend who is also a resident and they told her if she signed they would give her a deal under $750. I had to go confront staff to get this deal which is awful. The staff is college students who make false promises and don't know how to communicate. There are elderly and middle aged people living here when it is advertised as student living. The walls are so thin, I can hear my neighbors snoring and any noise at the pool and loud parties all night. Building is dirty and outdated. The colors are obnoxious. I've been here for over a year, and this has been one of the trashiest spots to be. They don't even check their emails. They send me notice that i haven't renewed my insurance when i sent them the message of the renewal 5 DAYS AGO. Through the email they provided me to do it from. The internet service is trash lag time every time i play call of duty. I've called the internet company more than i call my mother. No matter how much you call there's always something wrong. I had a parking spot from last year and they provided an email to reply to secure your parking spot, i did it then a two months later they reassign my spot to someone else DEFINITELY NOT RETURNING! A couple of months ago, several cars were broken into. But, Identity is supposed to be secured with a keypad gate. Instead, the gate is always malfunctioning. Also, people can walk the ramp and still enter the place to no issues! Also, the place reeks of weed and urine! It's hasn't been a year and the place is already damaged! Maintenance does a great job of keeping clean, but the residents treat this place like a dumpster! Management provides each resident with a leasing agreement. But in the end, they don't enforce it. Moving into this building was actually one of my worst mistakes. Dirty hallways, elevators, and stairways. The ENTIRE staff will probably be your age or younger and even tho that might sound nice it's f*cking annoying. They don't know how to manage anything in this building. I really don't believe proper training was put into this place. If you have an actual problem where the property manager, who isn't trained appropriately, can't solve and you want to speak to the person above THEY WONT GIVE YOU THEIR PHONE NUMBER. I know someone that had to get it through their father who works in a big corporate company and somehow managed. Also pls pls pls pick your roommates accordingly because picking a sh*tty roommate was the cherry on top. Now the maintenance men were WONDERFUL but the website to set up an appointment was actually a nightmare. They deleted my appointment 3 times before I got tired of it and had to go downstairs and literally force them to send someone because my bathroom sink wasn't working, which happened A LOT! Anyways they're gonna sell it to you when you do the tour and give u a free snack and whatever just DONT FALL FOR IT LOL! If you need to move in front of fiu go to 4th street it's the building behind it. Unfortunately, there is no way to leave a no star review. I have never in my life dealt with such poor management. I have repeatedly called, only to be given an e-mail that doesn't work and when I get a good e-mail I never get a reply. To make matters worse in trying to correct incorrect billing they continuedly charge additional fees and the only recourse is to pay fully and hope that you get reimbursed, If they ever respond to an email. I can't wait for this lease to be over. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for living space. This could of been easily remedied but still haven't heard anything. This is the worst staying experience of my life, I've been here for 2 years to start, the building is filled with roaches and the one of my neighbors ceilings was dripping water with a big hole in it and the hallways are always disgusting and GROSS. You can smell the dog piss throughout the hallways. The staff are all FIU students and the new property manager is a total dick and try's to justify everything that they do wrong in here without taking accountability. They do not support the Miya's law and will enter your room without notice. They charge fees for any and everything they can and the rates are too expensive here for the overall quality. The elevators are always broken, they will fine you 350.00+ for incense, sage or any candle which is unbelievable. As much as money that is being made off the students here we should not be charged for cleaning services or a parking spot. The property manager drives a brand new Porsche and I hope that's not where our hard earned money is going to instead of maintaining this very disgusting building. Overall DONT MOVE HERE MOVE TO 109, 4th Street or THE ONE. They need new staff at identity Miami and the building needs remodeling. Also they will not give out corporate number if you ask ALSO these assholes will tow your cow in the residential parking even if your a resident. The spam emails they send to everyone enforcing rules is totally uncalled for because they use this as a way to charge people individually for someone's else's actions. What tops it off... for the pst year i have been requesting maintenance to my room to exterminate some small drain flies from breeding in the bathroom. Only to find out its a problem in the whole building becaiuse the bug traps were not installed correctly. Next thing is the quality of water in the building. Once u piur water out the tap you can smell that they are recycling sewage water and thats exactly why these flies are coming up, THEY ARE SEWAGE FLIES. Apart from all that disgust, the building takes no care of their hallways stairwells, and trash chute areas. The hallway rugs are stained with a mixture if vomit and dog shit and trash chutes are so nasty you dont want to even throw away ur trash in it because of how sticky and dirty the whole trash chute room is.... piled with garbage on the ground and everywhere. Honestly, the building is very nice but the surrounding area isnt. The studio suite is very over priced for the space it has and the lease contract is pretty nasty. I got let go at my job because of COVID19 and they still refused to release me from the contract. They have a BUNCH of fees that are backed up by their ridiculous leasing terms and agreements so just make sure you read over everything and are ok with also paying $80 for parking in a student housing building... My sister is in law and she told me that the lease was pretty nasty and one sided. Covers their butts but doesnt have really any regard to cover yours just to get more money out of you. My biggest complaint is that I was never told before I moved in that one of my random roommates had some condition that required use of 'medicinal' weed. They only have pictures and tours for certain floor plans. The studio quads are the worst nothing about it is private the a/c device in your studio is just there for show you have to share a/c temperature with everyone else in the same unit as you. Share a loud front door and share nasty washer and dryer with these people it is the furthest thing from private the walls are paper thin you're at the mercy of the people living in the unit with you. The people living here are terrible and ghetto and loud if it's not music blasting it's door slamming and slamming drawers 24/7. I would leave but seemingly all the other student living building floor plans that I would like are sold out. I went down to the "office" to try to move to another unit and get upgraded but there was no help. It's just a terrible loud nasty place I would really love to enjoy living here but it hasn't been good the parking is terrible you can't have visitors over. They charge you randomly for electric even if you've been gone all month the electric bill will still be 100 dollars somehow. The internet and the power usually goes out. Nobody cleans the gym there really isn't a janitorial staff at all. The people working at the office are strangely young but very rude most of the time only nice when you go to pick up a package. Nothing about it is inviting you always have to watch your back and it's a fairly new building too you wouldn't know because of how dirty the hallways are somehow even after being cleaned they are trashed in about a day. The treadmills in the gym are usually broken. I watch dogs peeing in the pool area. It is probably the furthest student housing building from campus in the area. read more

ALSO incredibly ridiculous how you have to pay them $40 to let you back into your apartment if you get locked out, as if you aren't already paying $700+ to live there. Horrible. These apartments are a disgusting joke. Management is rude and inexperienced. They can not retain employees because of their horrible management and you will frequently see new property employees. The apartments are disgusting, filled with animal feces, urine, and vomit , and elevators never work. They make you walk up the resident parking garage (cars speedily coming in and out) to access the stairs when the elevators are out of service. The staff is SOOOOOOO rude and condemning, you will frequently hear "oh well, there is nothing we can do." They advertise not pet friendly, but have allowed my new roommate to move in with two cats despite my severe allergy. When addressed, the apartments have removed the pet friendly question from their applications and told me to either move out or put up with it. I have reached out to property office multiple times to discuss this, and they have told me they will not talk to me on the phone, only through email....Do not waste your time and money, literally any other FIU off campus apartment is far better than Identity. read more

Get ready to be stuck outside your room for hours at a time and have no one to call, security is there for limited hours but for example today Saturday there is no security and the main office is closed, when you call the emergency phone number you press 1 for lockout it goes to the main office voicemail that's full, click 2 for a maintenance worker who isn't in the building. Multiple of us stuck down in the lobby with no options. Also in the gym the machines don't have access to internet/Netflix etc like it says they do and there's been multiple times the floor in yoga room and gym is full of hair and dirt accumulating over time with no regular cleaning. I spent over a week doing stair master looking at someone's used sweaty napkins on the machine and didn't throw it away wondering to see if any cleaning people pass by the gym and they don't. We were also promised guest parking but there is none, and the parking garage gate is always broken. read more
