Sunday a.m. 11 16 25 called Veterinary Medical Center for appt to learn to express dog's urine until her vet was in, got appt @ 3 pm, repeated same issue above to receptionist & Dr. Umar Khan. I expected Dr. to express urine but he never did. He said, "You are only going to be back." Then he talked about xray/labs & surgery that he could do-I couldn't afford that. His next statement completely threw me for a loop."He said she was in severe pn, needed to be euthanized."I had been up 32 hrs, my brain just shut off. Instead of seeing she was not in pn, I took his word for it. The only exam Dr. did was flick her hips w/his finger, her skin quivered. I have had many animals euthanized and never experienced the trauma I was subjected to w/Dr. Kahn. I feel Dr. is incompetent, heartless. I feel he murdered my dog for $648 euthanasia fee. She did not need to be euthanized IF he had followed my request, & the exam/doctor responsibility protocol I had researched after the euthanasia. (his vet tech could have taught me to express urine since since Dr. was in a hurry to get to surgery) He knew her abdomen was distended so he should have expressed the urine, given me Tramadol for pn/Methocarbamal to relax her muscles to express her urine. Research said dogs don't always need surgery, dogs live paralyzed. I had both of my dogs w/me, in my lap, when it was time for the euthanasia. Dr. came @ my dogs like he was on a mission, they began to freak out to the point I was trying to keep them from falling on the floor. Dr. did not stop so I could calm dogs. The dog supposedly in severe pn was fighting like she was fighting for her life she was so scared. It was such a struggle I couldn't even make my mouth say stop. Her head flopped over my arm & her tongue was hanging out. I then realized how the heck did this happen, I came to learn how to express urine. My little girl was so loving, she was my pain support dog, got me thru several life threatening surgeries for blood clots. I take blood thinners for blood clots, aspirin to protect from having a heart attack & stroke & Tramadol for severe nerve pn/severe c-spine pn.. Since I experienced Dr. Khans calloused, incompetent, & what I believe money grubbing behavior, I have had anxiety, HA's, agitation, CP, heart pounding & elevated BP because what happened just plays over & over in my head. My little girl took care of me & I froze, did not protect her from a money grubbing, incompetent barbarian. I keep asking myself why he refused to teach me to express my little girl's bladder, how could he predict I would have to come back when he didn't even do an exam or try to express her urine in front of me? Knowing what I know about human medicine, there is never a way to know what will/won't work. I got a copy of my little girls records, there are many lies, ie: Dr Kahn said he talked to me about vet college in Davis-he didn't. I had a hard time getting the records because Dr. Kahn wanted to go over them, he wanted to email the records to my vet w/out having me sign a release form. The notes say the bladder was hard to express, Dr. told me he didn't express her bladder since she was being euthanized. Dr. states "owner want to know how to express bladder. Pet is unable to walk on hind legs per owner and her regular vet won't be back until Wednesday." he also said he offered more meds, he never offered any meds. Why would I agree to euthanasia if he offered me meds to take home until I could see my vet? There is more in his notes that leads me to believe when he reviewed his notes he also changed his notes. She explained they "were trying to call me" but I had no missed calls or messages. not a bug issue initially, but as I sat there trying to find another location to take my dog I thought surely there is a way to continue on with apportionment in the event the computers go down. So I asked but the receptionist kept telling me no and shaking her head before I could finish my questions. I asked if they keep physical records and if it was possible to proceed this way, they said "no, the system is down" and another employee who looked to be not in uniform(scrubs), not behind the counter, and actually seemed to be leaving with a purse on her arm starts trying to take over and tell me how everything is on the computer and they can't help me or check me in and I told her I'm asking about a physical file and a manual way to proceed she told me "yes we have your file" I said ok and asked to see it. They both made a face at me like I was crazy and were asking why I wanted to see MY pets file! they proceeded to argue with me and not give me the file and told me they were getting the doctor so they did and he came out and didn't show me the file until I explained to him what happened and he finally shows me the file while he's startslaughing and saying "it's your file why would we not show you? " I agreed, and said his staff was unprofessional and rude When I asked to see my own pets file. I explained I've never had that sort of reaction to see my pets medical records at any vet. I won't be coming back again, I wouldn't recommend anyone as this was very inconvenient and unprofessional. A waste of my day and unnecessary stress on me, and my pet.

I couldn't believe my ears! Who charges a grieving pet owner $200 to be present in the room? This is horrible! I opted out and had a veterinarian service come to my house and my sweet cat passed peacefully in my arms. I will never give this vet my business or trust them with a pet again! We complied with their recommendation but recently our dog was in obvious pain due to his teeth. We searched for a vet who would help our senior dog with dental issues as our regular vet was requiring an echocardiogram before a dental procedure. As our dog was in obvious pain and the soonest an echocardiogram could be performed was one month out, and if the results were agreeable for dental sedation that procedure would be another month out we chose to ask for referrals from friends. Dr. Moon saw our dog the next day and performed the dental procedure the day after. I could not imagine our dog being in pain for two months and am very grateful for Dr. Moon's promt response to our dogs issue. 4 stars review other than 5 stars is because we asked that a blanket we provided be kelt in the kennel with our dog and it was not.

HOWEVER, I want others to know, with lots of questions, I discovered these doctors will NOT remove a tumor or suspected tumor. They will diagnosis only; something your local standard vet should be able to do (probably for less, and you would have to pay another exam fee at another vet for removal). Also note, per my local vet, "a biopsy of animal tumors are not very accurate. We get "inconclusive" usually and the recommendation is to remove it. Therefore, don't spend the money to biopsy it; just remove it from the get-go."

She had been through allergy shots, antibiotics, and steroids with NO improvement. Half of her face had lost fur, the skin was open and crusted, and she was itching so badly that she lived in a cone around the clock. At our very first appointment here, they immediately suspected a fungal infection and took cultures. A few days later the results came back positive and they started her on an antifungal medication that worked. Her face healed, her fur grew back, and she is completely back to her happy, comfortable self! I am beyond grateful. They got to the root of the problem quickly, treated it correctly, and gave our dog her quality of life back. Highly recommend!
