A coworker told me about this deli. It was worth the drive. I don't recall ever seeing breaded eggplant which they had there. I definitely would eat it again. They also had lobster salad which was a nice change from the usual salads. They had hot food also. I appreciated the fact that there was somewhere to sit and eat. Food is fine but some of the men working there have a bad attitude - like they are doing you a favor by selling you something..the food is not good enough to deal with soup nazi attitude lol we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable like we were bothering them. We walked in said 'good morning' to the two men (prob in their 40s) behind the counter, closest to the door - crickets. Then we were looking in the deli case discussing what we might like to order - we were the only customers there and the 'gentlemen' said what do you want..we replied just deciding.. then my GF ordered a sandwich and when he started to make it, we continued discussing amongst ourselves what looked good and what salads etc we would get to take on the boat - he stops making the sandwich and says what else are you going to get, I tell him 1/2 pd this, 1/2 pd of that, pd of the this, some cold cuts and another sandwich etc.. he then says 'forget it I'll just finish this sandwich first' - lol, ok, we didn't ask you to stop. We then order all of the other items and I said do we also order breakfast sandwiches and coffee here with you or at the other counter - he admonished me 'you should have done that first' - well so sorry we didn't know there were ordering rules.. the deli counter is right by the front door and cashiers in the back so it just made sense while it was empty to order our deli things first.. just overall not a pleasant experience - we spent over $100 on food and drinks with them. Potato salad was pretty awesome, but the two sandwiches I just got from here were absolutely disgusting.

Purchased various salads that were fresh and tasty, a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, Cobb salad, chef's salad.

I ordered the Vanderbilt!? A Philly cheesesteak with eggs!? WHAT. THE. HELL IS THIS!? What a joke. Y'all want some steak with your lettuce tomato!? $13 for this and a coffee!? It's 2023! I do food reviews on Long Island and 9 times out of 10 bring tons of business to these restaurants. Someone told me to try it so I tried to call and give it a shot. I didn't even make it past the phone call!! The man who answered the phone was so rude and unprofessional. I refuse to give my hard earned money and/or lie to my "followers" to support a place that is that unprofessional. Top top quality LI deli! Hot foods & soups are so good, every time. Whoever is cooking over there really knows what they're doing! Same goes for cold salads (tuna, egg, shrimp, etc) They're simply on the top of their game - using fresh products, never skimping on quality and it shows because we're never disappointed. The every day food is great. Egg sandwiches and specialty hero's are always on point. We recently had classic American and Italian hero's catered. The baskets were beautiful and the hero's were excellent. The crew is made up of old school deli folk. They are fast and friendly and make great food. Went to the Deli for the first time since the start of Covid-19. It was a Sunday morning. I was on a line of about 3 people. While waiting I noticed that all the employees had masks but only one of them had the mask over the nose and mouth. All the others had their masks under the chins. I though well maybe they put them on while putting together an order. Nope! They started my order without putting the mask over their mouth and nose and I think without gloves. I canceled the order and left. I find it hard to believe that with widespread knowledge that Masks help to keep safe those around you, that so many of the employees were ignoring this fact. Their management clearly has no respect for the safety of their customers. Can you imagine if one of their staff were a carrier what would happen? I won't go back there until the Covid-19 crises is long gone. read more

Unsanitary. Too many customers in the deli to safely practice social distancing. Nearly the entire staff masked incorrectly, wearing their mask below the nose or hanging from the neck during food prep. Several customers masked incorrectly, no corrective action from staff. One customer entered completely bare-faced, stood in a packed line of customers, ordered food, sat in the overcrowded store completely unmasked for several minutes, paid for his food and left without a word from the store employees. It's gross enough when food service businesses are regular unsanitary, but the callous disrespect this business shows the high-risk population in its community is truly disgusting. I've been coming here for five years. The food is good. It's a shame I need to find someplace to bring my business, somewhere I can know they care the bare minimum about the health and safety of their community. read more

The food at this deli is good, but unfortunately the last few times I've had bad experiences with the staff..I won't go into the ice cold shoulder I've gotten from them for simply wearing a mask during the pandemic, but yesterday when I was picking up my sandwiches one of the people behind the counter was coughing up a storm with out even so much as covering his mouth at all. So any food or surfaces around we're definitely being coughed on, and then he went behind the counter (still coughing) to make sandwiches. Gross. Needless to say, I took my sandwiches and threw them out when I got home, and I'll never go back to this deli again. Once again they can't get an order correct. Today I walk in, I'm the only customer being served at the counter. The counterman was taking a bite of his breakfast as I walked in. During my entire experience he had a wad of butter or cream cheese hanging off of his chin. I ordered an egg sandwich, got it paid and left. I got in my car and started to drive to work. I unwrapped my breakfast and took a bite. I immediately turned my car and headed home. They cut my sandwich with a dirty knife, one that had ketchup on it. I'm deathly allergic to tomato and needed an EPIPEN asap! Thanks for almost killing me today. Now I needed a day off to recover and I have to go to the Dr and get a new EPIPEN, copays and such.
