This is what you get at this place when you order a chicken cutlet hero for 17$

This is what you get when you order a chicken cutlet hero from this place they put less than one piece of chicken on the sandwich charge $17 and expect it to be OK. This is embarrassing as a repeat Customer I will no longer be coming and don't tell me inflation is the cause because would you rather put two chicken cutlets on a hero and retain a customer or lose them forever because you're being cheap and your bread was stale you should absolutely be ashamed of the sandwich sandwiches that you're putting out at the price that you're charging people complete joke.

The Gourmet Bagel when compared to other bagel places in this area is a first class establishment. It is cleaner than most with a a very nice display case with a fine array of salads and entree dishes. The service is remarkably fast, they really have a good system in place and keep it well staffed. I'll cut this review short, it's GOOD, go there.

Bagels are important. I mean, maybe not for everyone, but being a born and raised Long Islander you know you need a solid bagel spot otherwise you might turn to dust. So when my fiancée and I moved to Ronkonkoma recently, we were faced with finding a new bagel location that would ensure we get our doughy fix. Enter The Gourmet Bagel Co. in all it's tasty glory. We first visited this Bohemia-based spot a few weeks ago with bagels in mind. The actual building consists of a trio of food storefronts (pizza and Mexican are the other two) so it's possible you might miss Gourmet when driving down Lakeland Ave. It's really not too big inside, but there are a few tables and enough space to wait out your order. What did we order? Bagels (of course)! I went with my usual everything bagel which was toasted, though I had to switch up my cream cheese choice as they weren't rocking any jalapeño spread at that time. The bacon and herb cream cheese sounded intriguing so I went for that. The lady had an onion bagel with regular cream cheese which did the trick for her. Honestly, the bagels were not the best I've had (I think Hand Rolled will always hold that superlative), but they were tasty, toasty, and had the right amount of seasoning with a generous spread of cream cheese. Now here's the thing about GBCo.: they're not just a bagel place. Their menu of sandwiches, salads, and paninis was insane and so we knew we'd have to return for lunch. Flash forward a few days later and we were diving into one of their hero's, The Fat Tony. This large gentleman or um, sandwich I should say, consisted of chicken cutlet, maple bacon, mozzarella, and sriracha BBQ sauce on a toasted garlic hero. It came with a side of deli salad so we went with potato. This handheld definitely had some nice flavor especially from the maple bacon and zing of the sriracha. The chicken was massive, though more cut up than an actual cutlet piece (which I prefer). The potato salad was pretty solid too. With all that said, I'm not sold on five stars just yet (I need a few more bagels and sandwiches to give me the green light on that front). But I will say the staff has been super friendly the two times we were there. Yeah, perhaps the second time the guy who helped us gave us two sides of potato salad instead of one macaroni (which we had asked for), but it's no biggie. Their friendliness is definitely a key to returning. Prices were also respectable so that's another reason to come back. Overall, The Gourmet Bagel Co. is definitely a legit bagel/deli location with plenty of tasty bagel and sandwich options. Things might not have reached five stars, but it's not far off. Plus you'll most certainly get some friendly service which might just bring you back in for another round of bagels. Because hey, if you live on this lengthy island, you better have a go-to bagel spot that delivers the goods.

Chicken and spinach protein omelette. Whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and nova lox.

Very good bagels. Big selection of sandwiches, wraps and omelettes. Shared a spinach and chicken protein omelette which came with a hash brown, a coffee and a bagel... got cinnamon raisin. Also got a cream cheese and lox on a whole wheat bagel. Came with a side salad... got pickled cucumber and tomato... delicious. Everything was very good. Service a little manic... so many people working there and very nice and helpful.

This little neighborhood bagel shop and deli was anything but small expectations. Homemade and hand crafted breakfast and deli favorites great for options for anyone. It's a small ambiance and limited seating but tasty and all customizable. The little coffee bar has several options, cold drink cooler, and full deli for now or to go! Order online for pickup for a faster experience. The service was chartered to your needs with several staff readily available. I highly recommend and will be back!

Great food and amazing service! Make sure to ask for the home fries extra crispy - makes all the difference!

Sausage egg and cheese. Salt pepper ketchup and a hash brown

One of my buddies recommended this place and it definitely didn't disappoint. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The building is clean and very new. An everything egg bagel with Eggs, sausage, cheese and a hash brown costed almost $11 which is crazy, but it was really delicious. Especially the bagel. They did charge 75 cents for cheese which is also a head scratcher, but again, 10/10 breakfast. If you want to treat yourself to an awesome breakfast with a really nice staff, this is the spot !

I was happy to see that 21 Main became something else because I always liked the building. The ambience is beautiful and I love a restaurant where you feel like you're walking into somebody's beautiful home. When I arrived, it was a lbit busy as it was lunchtime on a Friday. I thought to myself oh great, because that usually means the service suffers but that didn't hinder the service at all! The waitress was very attentive! ordered a plain cheeseburger, a glass of wine and an iced tea. When my food came out, I asked for an extra glass of water because I have swallowing issues with certain foods and without asking she brought me over a carafe of water! I'm not sure how many locations the have, but if they are all as good as West Sayville, I would highly recommend The Shed. Great job, keep it up and thank you !!!

Crazy house is more like it…read more I have never seen more foot traffic in a place than here. They're doing something right. First of all the presentation of all the food was just spectacular. Service was outstanding. I sat with family and enjoyed a simple tea and toast today. My sister-in-law order the Matcha with blueberry, she let me grab a sip and it was very refreshing, perfectly balanced blueberry, it was sweet but not too sweet paired with the Matcha tea. Not only delicious but very pleasing to the eye it's beautifully displayed in their clear cup. This place feels upscale, trendy. The food options are plentiful. Can't wait to return. I thought it would be dead, but to my surprise it was still pretty busy! Its a small little place, but still a few options to sit down and eat or just sip your java. Bonus points for excellent music choice, very indie singer/songwriter style that made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. Starting with the reason you're probably going here, the coffee. I got a peanut butter latte, and my girlfriend got one of their winter seasonal choices in the ginger bread latte. both served hot. The PB was very smooth and lightly sweet, but the ginger bread one in my opinion takes home the trophy this time. As for lunch we did their sandwich/wrap and a salad combo, which as far as I am concerned is the best deal I've ever seen, Panera eat your heart out. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with a side caesar salad, and my girlfriend got the fig & brie sandwich, with a side peach and avocado salad. The buffalo wrap was nice and light with grilled chicken and a buffalo sauce that seemed almost more like a vinaigrette and the caesar was about as classic as it gets. The fig and brie was an unexpected plus for me and eats almost like a caprese sandwich, while the peach and avocado salad was super fresh, fruit in salad doesn't quite do it for me personally, so we split the trophy for our lunches. My only "major" downside is that the food is served on wooden paddles, I personally like a plate, but that is more of me just being a nit-picker more than anything else. Parking is pretty ample with spots both in the front and the back of the attached lot, but be careful when you're pulling up the first time, you're bound to miss it, I know I almost did!

Don't sleep on dessert either: a chocolate shell you crack open to reveal mousse inside, we were fighting to get the last bites!
