    Redstar Construction - Kitchen Remodel

    Redstar Construction

proceed with caution! Man where to start. I don't enjoy…read moredragging somebody's business, but I also don't enjoy spending a large chunk of our hard saved money on garbage work and hopefully I can save somebody else from making the same mistake. I guess I will start by being open and up front and saying I put off doing this negative review for two years... we had such a terrible experience during installation of our LVP floors and the workmanship proved to not be great in the following year or two but my final straw that made me decide to finally write this review comes from being recently enlightened to yet ANOTHER issue with the quality of work. A couple of months ago we suffered severe water damage in our home and as a result, all of the LVP that Redstar installed in 2023 had to be ripped up and we found out they never even put a barrier under our flooring between it and the concrete. These guys cut SO many corners the entire job and this just has me livid again. SOME of the issues we had with Redstar- - What was supposed to be a 2wk job turned into 4wks - One of his workers stole a bottle of whiskey out of our cabinet. Had we noticed while the job was going on, we would have absolutely brought it up to Stan, however, we didn't notice it until we were moving furniture back into our house and at that point we were so sick of dealing with Redstar that we chose to let it go instead, however, there was absolutely nobody else in our house during this time (the house wasn't in living condition, so how could there have been?) so there's no way it was anybody else that took it. - Without our consent they modified our entry way steps almost permanently but we caught them. It was a rounded step down from the entry to our living room, Stan told us they could make the rounded edge work even with the LVP. We double checked with him because previous contractors told us no because it was round and the LVP is obviously not pliable but Stan said it was doable so we tr... well apparently his solution was to take the rounded edge and just make it a giant square! Which cut into our already small living room and looked horrendous! Thank God my husband works from home and came out of his office when he did, imagine his surprise that not only had they already framed the square out, but they were filling it with concrete without anybody even asking us if that was OK! It wasn't, they had to find another solution. - The house, was left FILTHY every day. Our kitchen was basically unusable the entire time. They made ZERO attempt to clean at all and make our home even remotely comfortable for us. I had to clean the kitchen daily to even be able to use a single countertop to make food. - Stan and his crew were supposed to level out some of the uneven flooring before installing the LVP and still, after already being installed, they had to rip up the floors, several places and level our area. They should have already done, but didn't because the floor would sink down or bend when you stepped on it. - Stan the owner was never on site unless we had an issue he had to come deal with. Idk where he got his workers but they were subpar, did subpar work. The only decent one who seemed to care at all was his supervisor Eric, who unfortunately also was rarely there until we were so fed up we demanded someone else finish the work. Very shortly after the work has been done , of talking within six months to a year max, there were already multiple planks that had cracked and we started noticing that the putty or whatever it is, they use in the joint of the flooring, was starting to fall out in multiple places. The only thing we clean our floors with warm water and vinegar so it's not like we were using harsh chemicals. I utilize Yelp a LOT for trusted recommendations on everything from food to construction services and everything in between and I felt guilty about not writing a negative review immediately after our experience with Stan and Redstar but to be completely honest, it was such a stressful experience (every day was something new, I dr dreaded coming home from work) on top of the fact that I was just done dealing with them on top of the fact that I didn't want to say anything negative that could possibly get in the way of our "1yr warranted on the work" if we need them to come back for anything so I just kept my mouth shut but honestly, I feel like this review needs to be put out there if it can save anyone from a fraction of the annoyance and headache we experienced with them! Finding out that the LVP was installed with zero barrier was my final straw. We paid over $13k for a shit job. I'll end it with this , our experience was so bad that we paid over $13,000 for the flooring, and when issues started to arise within the first year, we STILL didn't even want to bother contacting them to come fix the problems because we had SUCH a bad experience. We would rather eat it and deal with it than call them again.

I invested about $125,000 into my project, and I can honestly say every single penny was worth it. From the beginning to the end, everything was handled professionally and exactly as promised. The installers showed up on time, the workmanship was excellent, and the whole process was smooth and well organized. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and the level of care Mamoon and his team put into the project. It's not easy to find a company you can truly trust with a big investment like this, but WM Construction delivered beyond my expectations. I have absolutely no complaints and would confidently recommend them to anyone. If you want quality work and a reliable team, go to WM Construction and ask for Mamoon!

We had six quotes--some reasonable, some sky-high--and WM's transparency and fair pricing were major reasons we chose them. The build quality is excellent. Many of their subcontractors have worked with WM for years, and it really shows in the craftsmanship and smooth coordination. The finishes turned out great, and WM was very flexible in accommodating design changes and offering cost-effective recommendations throughout the process. Even after construction wrapped up, they've been quick and responsive with small touch-ups--something we really appreciated, since it's easy to miss details during the punch list phase when everything looks so good. We highly recommend WM for additions, remodels, kitchens, bathrooms--anything. We'll definitely be using them again in the future.

My initial conversation with Erik was super friendly and nice, he helped us last minute tarp a roof of my dad's house, which my dad just passed away a few days prior. There was a roof leak and we needed to have the roof covered to stop the water intrusion. Erik was helpful and responsive prior and during the tarp and my husband and him spoke. We paid him $500 after he left the initial day. Unfortunately, when Erik was tarping the roof, he didn't use sand bags to hold the tarp down and the winds blew the tarps all over. Two days later I had reached back out to ask him if he would go back over to make sure the tarps were not blowing everywhere and he did go back. However instead of using sand bags, he used 2 x 4's and an UMBRELLA STAND to hold the tarps down, this did not work, instead the winds picked up the umbrella stand and smashed the roof tiles. We didn't know this happened until we arrived three days later and my husband got on the roof because the tarps were not in place and flying all over. I asked my husband to pull one of the tarps down because it was over a skylight and was whipping it and making an awful sound. That is when my husband discovered the broken tiles and the umbrella stand on the roof with the wood attached. We then texted and called Erik and he initially responded with a text saying "wow". My husband stated he was going to call him the next day, since it was after 5pm. My husband called him and text Erik, but he has since not returned our messages or calls. Today I reached out in one last ditch effort to see how we could rectify the situation and he has not called or texted back. It's a shame because we all make mistakes, however to not even try to fix the situation and refuse to respond is very unprofessional. It's a bummer to have to deal with this in addition to losing my dad within 10 days.
