It was ok, not the best karaoke place. Came here in March 2026. Interestingly, they pull the songs/videos from YouTube, so it felt like I could have just done karaoke at home lol. There is a score at the end of each song though. The scoring part sometimes takes awhile and feels like it's eating up time from karaoking. The room I was in felt a bit stuffy. Wish there was better ventilation. Otherwise, the room was ok. Old and recent songs were available. The parking lot was pretty dark and this general area is quite isolated, feels a bit deserted. They have water and some snacks available for purchase. There is a $5/hour fee for bringing outside food and drinks. I wouldn't really want to come back. read more

Their prices at happy hour, especially with the ability to bring our own food, drinks, and refreshments is a huge selling point and enough to get me hooked. When I visited with a large group, we had a large room. The Wi-Fi was a tad spotty - not for us but for their machines. There was a ton of lag, and at times we had to restart songs. The background tracks were also a tad hard to hear at times and inconsistent in terms of volume. I like Idol Karaoke for its reliability. They always have availability as long as you make a reservation. They also let you bring in outside food and drinks at no extra charge. I like being able to have drinks at Karaoke without having to pay ridiculous prices for a bottle of alcohol. The staff are really nice and hospitable. I was looking for a karaoke spot for my bday. I chose to go with this place because the price was cheaper than most places, and they allow you to bring in food and drinks. I'm not sure if they charged us for bringing drinks but the total amount we spent for one hour (7:30-8:30) on Saturday night was $29. That was a medium size room for 5 people. Their karaoke system has a lot of songs including Kpop. They spell out the Korean lyrics so you can try to sing it without knowing Korean. I don't think there is a song they wouldn't have because it seems very up to date. We did lower the volume because the music was super loud. Not sure if that was because of the previous group. This place can get packed so I would book a reservation ahead of time. It was fun overall and I would come back. However, I didn't give it 5 stars because the rooms are not sound proof. It is fun to hear what songs other people sing though. Our room also had a cigarette smell which might have been from the group before us. We only booked an hour but we also didn't want to stay longer due to the smell. read more

Idol used to be our favorite karaoke spot, but they blacklisted me. You're able to call ahead and make reservations, but every time I call, they always say they're booked up. They finally told me it's because I'm on the "list" of numbers to not reserve. They said they keep track and write down numbers who "no show/cancel the last minute". I was taken aback because my friends and I LOVE going to idol. So I find it hard to believe I would ever no show. I might have shown up a little late, but I would never no show. Every time I reserve, I recall always being there with my group. I asked them if they have the date I apparently "cancelled", but they didn't have any kind of info, besides me being on the list. Due to this, my friends and I found a new karaoke spot, and will never return to Idol. Plus, the rooms always smell like cigarettes. read more

WOW. A place that allows you to BYOB and BYOF??? Amazing! I was looking for a affordable place where we can celebrate my fiancé's early birthday and our engagement party at the same time. As you know planning for a wedding can become pricy so any chance we get to save money you know we are there! Location was easy to find! Right next to Soju Belly. The place may not looks it's best; think wear and tear - but it gets the job done! We went during their happy hour (5pm to 8pm) and brought in drinks, food, and snacks! Crazy affordable! We got their biggest room (can fit 15 people comfortably but we had about 18 so a few had to stand around) and the room we got (room 9) had some birthday decorations up! Think Happy Birthday Banners! This was great! I didn't have to decorate LOL! We spent around $120 for 3 and a half hours, this included the fee to bring in your own drinks and food as well as the cost for the room. But be sure to reserve in advanced! They had iPads where you were able to pick through a list of songs from their karaoke list or you can find them on YouTube and it will display it on the TV! Amazing! Only thing to note is when you choose the YouTube option there is no voice overlay so if you're not to familiar with the song maybe pick one where you don't have to rely on another voice to guide you I booked for Sunday May 25 (day before memorial day) and all my friends were so surprised how I was able to find a karaoke place with BYOB & BYOF! They thought I was joking around but I don't joke when it comes to saving money! We can EASILY drop over $200 to go karaoke at other locations for a couple of hours and buying drinks and food at that location. And as a vegetarian it's really hard to find any good snacks at those locations so being able to order a Costco pizza (only 15 mins away!) and brining it in was a GAME CHANGER. We asked all our friends to bring food and drinks and we had so much! What's really nice as well is that BCD is only 10 mins walking distance away, so it was nice to head over there to sober up and wind down our night! Was not expecting anything but this place is great! Went for Saturday night happy hour from 5-8 pm. They'll charge you a bit more to bring your own food but worth it. The computer interface is all on a tablet. No books needed! Unless you know how to type Chinese, Mandarin songs may be hard to find. Everything else wasn't too bad. We sang Chinese, Japanese, English and Korean songs. Our mics ran out of batteries within the time but got replaced quickly by the guy running the place. We had a great time and we only paid $15 each for 3 of us the entire 3 hours. They look like they provide food but only whatever is in a mini fridge. I've been here more times than church. Happy hour is 5-8 and you know I got the number on speed dial. They do use YouTube as an option and that's my bread and butter. This is the best karaoke spot in Orange County. I've been here multiple times before and have only had good experiences. For my group of 12 people, I booked a large room, which was $45/hour but $50/hour if we wanted to bring food/drinks in. I really liked that they offered the option to bring our own stuff in because none of the other karaoke places that I've gone to has allowed outside food and drinks. They also have snacks and drinks at the front desk if you run out of your own. Parking was really easy to find. We stayed from 10 PM - closing and my group had a really fun time. In the room, they provide 2 microphones and an iPad where you can queue songs, which is so much better than a preset list of songs I've seen at other places. For the most part, the place was clean. The only bad thing was that by the end of the night, the girl's bathroom was flooding out into the hallway, which I was a little grossed out by. But other than that, no complaints. When I booked the room, the man who helped me was really friendly and informative and the man who worked the front desk was also really friendly. This is probably the only place I'll be going to for karaoke from now on. read more

I'd recommend the happy hour reservations, as they're a very good deal for the amount of time you're there. They use tablets with an app connected to Youtube, so it's super easy to find karaoke videos in any language. They have disposable microphone covers for safety, and they let you bring in food for a small fee! The ambiance is amazing, as the rooms have loud speakers, a large tv, a table, sofa, and lighting that makes it really fun and vibey. This is the best karaoke spot I've ever been to. Not only because of the sound quality but because of the service. The staff is always so nice and definitely knows how to treat customers. It is never a dull moment walking into Idol Karaoke. If you ever want to let loose and have a good time, even by yourself, then this is the place to be! They even allow outside food and drinks for only 5 dollars extra per hour. Every time I go I see some people have huge gatherings with enough food for a potluck. So inviting, so homey, and so amazing. Just make sure to not leave a mess behind because usually there's only one person working and they clean up all the rooms. My friends and I have come here several times, with fairly large groups of 8+ people - this is one of the only places we've come back to more than once. One nice thing about this place is you can call in advance to reserve space which is something some places don't always do, and it make planning for a night out much easier. The pricing is extremely fair and honestly one of the best value places you can find unless you're running it at home with your own system. The service here is excellent and they are very responsive whenever you need anything - be it help with technical issues or trying to schedule additional time they are very willing to help out! As other reviews have said there's no food or drink sold, but you can pay a fee and bring your own - which is something my friends and I prefer to do anyways (just takes a bit more planning). They also have the youtube search setup where you can search for songs and it's not just a preset song deck, so you have much more choice than some other places in this regard as well. We will definitely be coming back - and this review has been long overdue! read more

The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and respectful! Unfortunately, no food or drinks sold here but you can bring your own outside food and alcohol for an additional $5 on top of your hourly rate. The staff also cleans up your room, so we didn't feel pressured to make time for cleaning during our reservation. We rented the large room which costs $45 an hour and then the additional $5 fee for outside food, resulting in $50/hr rate. :) pretty good! The staff let us decorate the room too with happy birthday balloons. I'm also pleased that there is a fairly large options of songs to sing! It's a tablet that you search music from in YouTube. My go-to spot for karaoke always!!! The man who runs it is always lovely and you get a private room with seating and a table and a great outside food policy! They'll always have your song cause their system is YouTube based, plus you can adjust your voice vs. the backtrack from the iPad. The one thing is that you can hear the other singers from the other rooms when there isn't a song playing, but I think it adds to the energy of the ambiance and you can't hear them at all once you have your own songs going! read more
