The fun continueeesssss. My friends and I were in the mood to sing after dinner and drinks, and of course enjoy more drinks. Another nearby karaoke spot was all booked, but thankfully Octave 18 Karaoke was open and had available rooms. Michael who helped us was very nice and welcoming. We were able to grab some of the drinks in front and then order from their menu when we were inside our karaoke room. The room was $35/hour. We each got a fruit drink ($3.99/each) and 2 Cham-I-Sul Fresh ($15.99/each). For snacks we had some Corn Cheese ($15.00), Season Dry Fish ($14.99) and Peaches ($14.99). The snacks here were better than some of the restaurants we went to later that same night. I really like that they had disposable covers for the karaoke mics. There were bangles to dance around and good dimmed lighting. There was two screens so you can stand up and sing and see the words from the view of the back wall as well as the front wall. Music selection met our needs. All of the American songs we wanted were there. They definitely had a strong selection of Korean songs. They had songs for a few other countries, including a page of Vietnamese songs as well. Good times. The remote can be a little challenging for those who are not Korean, but I'm lucky I came with Korean friends who helped me navigate the situation. I'm usually a one-woman karaoke enthusiast from the privacy and comforts of my living room, so when the gang recommended going to a karaoke bar after leaving a cocktail bar, I was beyond excited! LOL. For some of us, this was our first time here. Recommended by one of our friends who frequents this place quite a bit (good singer of Hangul songs!). Located in a smaller older plaza, there is ample parking. They welcomed and accomodated our large party of 12! The private karaoke room had more than enough space, plenty of seating, and numerous screens! The binder of song selections was massive. Thank goodness we went with someone who can read Hangul because the controls were just that. I'm sure the staff would have explained it if you didn't though. The acoustics were great and they provided 2 cordless mics (with protective covers). We didn't order food, but the soju beer bombs were flowing! We had too much fun singing, dancing, and laughing away till 2am! Shut the place down...lol! Inexpensive for the amount of people we had and all the libations we drank (bonus points right there!). Had a group of 10 people here on a Friday night for my friend's birthday and it was so much fun! Right when you step in the room, the disco lights and the lights embedded into the walls bring up the vibes. The workers were so nice and delivered our drinks and complimentary popcorn snacks with the quickness. I wish they had a little more English song selections, but we still managed to sing our hearts out for 4 hours lol. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were clean, there were tambourines on the tables and good air conditioning. They even provided mic covers so you don't get your spit all over the mic heads. Celebrated my hubbys 41st bday here in the XL room and fit about 18 people comfortably in a clean room with cool lighting - I'm also very happy with the service, Micheal took great care of us & helped us whenever we needed. I choose this place over Eko Lounge, bc Eko requires a min purchase for room reservations and Octave 18 didn't. Octave 18 also has soju and Eko doesn't. The food was really great too, we had the spicy squid and pork and chicken wings so fire. They also let us bring in a cake for the birthday. They also have extra parking in the back when the front gets full. I would definitely go back here again for a small gathering or larger party. read more

Came here after shabu at the source (bc the karaoke spot at the source mall did not have the same nostalgic Korean karaoke feel to it. It was pricey with lots of rules LOL). Came to this good 'ole spot we all grew up on. We came on a Wednesday around 630pm and it was pretty empty. We were greeted by two workers who took us into room #5. The room did wreak of cigarettes as soon as we walked in, but I guess that's also part of the nostalgic Korean karaoke experience we were looking for. We ordered 2 makgullis, 2 milkis, 2 2% peach. After 2 hours we were ready to go. Our total bill came out to ~$97. They charge $30/hr so the rate imo is still really good and way better than what they were trying to charge us over at the source. It was my first time visiting a karaoke bar, and I was a bit nervous at first. The room my friends and I got was extremely large, with furniture seemingly placed randomly. There were three medium-sized TVs, a strange-looking remote, and a huge book listing all the available songs. We were also given two microphones and two microphone covers. It took us a while to figure out the remote and the lighting, but once we did, it was quite fun. The place charges by the hour, so when you're ready to leave, you pay at the front desk. Our group of 10 came in and ready to have a good time. English songs are so limited. The controller is 100% Korean. They don't bother to give you instruction on how to use the controller. We keep asking them for help and all they do is show you what you ask and not a thorough instructions on how to use it. Mixed fruit platter is nearly $30! Bottle of Jameson Bottle water $1.50 Our group came here to get sober from dinner's alcohol but ended up getting a bottle of Jameson. Rooms were big enough for our group. The sound system is not bad but probably do need an upgrade. Lots of Korean songs, old school Chinese songs (if you can find it) and English songs are old school as well. Not really up to date. Fun times with your friends, the company is what makes it fun! Parking lot is very limited. Try to carpool if coming in a big group. read more

Honestly way better than the Yelp score suggests. Wanted to celebrate my birthday with my friends/family, so we had dinner at the Source. The karaoke spot at the Source did not have any spots open at 8 on a Saturday night so we headed here. Octave 18 was also full, but they gave us a one hour time estimate, so we just had drinks at the restaurant next door to wait. Once we got in (we were a group of 10), the experience wasn't pretty solid . The English selection was not as wide as The Source, but the rooms were pretty spacious and roomy. The music did at times drown the microphone, but I was honestly too drunk to notice, lol. The prices are very reasonable, and I would definitely return for late night karaoke. read more

AMAZING NIGHT!!!!! We went there last night as a walk in with 23 guests & the host was amazing & respectful & thankfully showed us to our room right away! i had a good time with my friends here, but mostly because we had korean natives in our group who could understand and use the controller. i like that there are multiple screens in the room so you can see the lyrics no matter where you are in the room. rooms are spacious and bathrooms are pretty clean. read more

The lady who helped me was kind and helped me navigate through the remote(it's in Korean and I don't speak korean) and I had a fun time horribly singing all by myself in this cozy little room. I actually had a pretty good time here. Came for a coworker gathering and we got a fairly large room with plenty seating room, dancing room, and 2 TVs. Although it was difficult to manage the remote without any instruction (since it was all in Korean), it was still fun. Had most of the karaoke essentials so I wasn't picky. Overall, I'd go again. The workers did seem "eh" and unenthusiastic, but that was just dealing with them. Not here to rain on our parade. read more

Need Korean Translator + No Asthma Issues; everything else good. I didn't buy any food or drinks because I heard it was expensive here. There's a relatively strong smoke smell inside there, even though there's a sign that says "No Smoking" but people probably manage to sneak it inside, but the hosts don't really do anything about it. Need an expert Korean translator for talking with hosts and using remote controls. The remote is kind of old-fashioned so you have to type is in a Korean-with-English-letters keyboard. A little tedious because you have to press shift to type in other languages. Not sure on this one -- microphone is adjustable but increasing the volume of the microphone also increases the volume of the music. They have a good selection of songs, but most artist names like RED VELVET are in Korean so you will need Korean translator for that -- can't really wing it cause you basically have to type in romanized Korean. As of 07/12/18, they don't have "Dance the Night Away" by TWICE or "#CookieJar" by RED VELVET, so it's probably at least 3 weeks before a song goes in (I don't know how long exactly but it's at least 3 weeks because #CookieJar was released 3 weeks ago at the time of when I attended this Karaoke 07/12/18). read more

Pretty nice that they have this karaoke (noraebang) in Orange County. The place was pretty clean, they had up to date song selections, and they served alcohol and food. Loved it. The price was decent as well. Not cheap but not ridiculously overpriced like some places in LA. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in the need of some NRB! :) read more

Fun place for karaoke. Meet up with friends every here and there since it's about halfway for all of us to meet up. Only down fall is there's not that big of a selection of American music compared to Korean. They offer food and drinks here, but the selection is small as far as food and a bit over priced. I was in the store last week and I went to the bathroom when someone took a video of me. I told the workers but they were unhelpful and unengaging and told me that there is nothing they can do about it. I'm a rock star! Really. You would not believe the applause I receive for my singing. True. You would not believe the applause that I get if you have actually heard me sing. I try to be kind to my friends, so I rarely sing. When I do, I keep it contained in a noribang. Besides, there really is canned applause at the end of every song. It makes me smile. Octave 18 is a nice place. Clean. Big. Plenty of parking. The room that we were in was in good shape. The song book was full of fun tunes to butcher with my voice. This review is based on TWO experiences. I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt after our first experience but I really wish i thought it over. Positive: the rooms are nicely kept (with the exception of smell, see below) with new TVs. Negatives: #1 - Price - $40 for a small, $60 for medium and $80 for the large per hour. They also add tax. Then they expect you to add gratuity??! Food prices is on par with Disneyland's. #2- Price - drinks - I get that establishments need to markup alcohol to stay in business. But $14 on a small bottle of soju?! And boy are they slow to ring you up. Don't forget the tax and to tip! #3 - Drinks - You can't bring drinks to this establishment. Not even a personal bottle of WATER! #4 - Smoke- Want to feel like you just exited the lobby of a Vegas Casino? Octave 18 is your place! The room smelled like cigarettes. Funny thing was, it happened in the second hour after the AC was flipped on. Turns out, the OWNER was smoking in his own establishment! His smoke filtered into the ducts and spewed out the vents in our room. #5 - Cake - An hour before our party arrived, we brought a cake to Octave 18 to be held until we are ready. They left the cake in the front. Unrefrigerated. #6 - Remote - I suggest you take a class in the Korean language before you step into this establishment. The remote is in korean and the people aren't much help. #7 - Restroom - Piss all over the ground. I politely informed the front desk that the restroom needed attention. An hour later, the restroom still looked like a battlefield after a heavyweight bout of Sword Pissing. Gross. I wish there were more establishments like these around the area. There is one in Cerritos called Luxor (166th and Pioneer?). They allow you to bring your own food and drinks. read more

Luxury Yes! Paying luxury on drinks..... NOT!!!! I only given great reviews so far on Yelp... but this place totally deserves 1 start, if only I can give less than 1 star. Just really disappointed on how up-tight they are when it comes to drinks. I understand its a business, but do you have to be ridiculously unreasonable with how much you charge for drinks. They are marking up all there drinks 500%!!! $14 for a bottle of soju?!?! We came here during the last hour, around 1:15am. We got to stay a bit after 2AM, so we still got our hour's worth. We paid $30 for the last hour. Song selections were kind of limited. Some old school songs were not even there. If you want to sing Chinese, you have to ask them for a separate Chinese book. We never have a big family night without ending it with crazy drinking and Karaoke. Ill never Karaoke in public though. I has to be private rooms where only my family gets to hear me :) so after dinner and hanging out with the family, the youngin's all rally and go sing our hearts out and booze it up. We have been to quite a few Norebangs, but this one was probably the one I liked the least. They served boozes, so it got atleast 2 stars, but the songs were hard to find. Luckily my cousins have been here a few times and they knew the drill. I always have a good time with my brother and my cousins. Can't wait for the next time!! As fancy and nice as this place might be, the pricing makes it not worth it. I came here during Happy Hour, and i still ended up paying more than I would have for an hour else during normal hours. There are plenty of karaoke joints that offer the same service for a better price. However this is one of the few karaoke joints in the area that sell alcohol and food, so I guess if you want come and get drunk, eat, and spend lots on it then come here. Sure, it's expensive as hell but my friends and I are convinced that it doesn't matter how poorly you sing, you will shine like the diva you truly are at this karaoke place. And, besides, there's a price to pay to be fabulous. We were greeted warmly by the staff when we entered on a rainy Saturday night around 9PM. The place was a little bit slow. We were ushered into a room with swanky couches, enough room to dance, and state of the art flatscreen tv's and cordless mics. Decent English song choices with some surprisingly current songs ("Tik Tok" by Ke$ha). And the most current kpop songs ("Oh!" by SNSD). My advice: PRE-PARTY (or sneak some alcohol in). Or shell out the $400 for unlimited karaoke and bottles of Crown Royal. Last note: their corn cheese is just meh. read more

I meant to put my review on this place a while ago but i forgot! xP In Korean karaoke, they give a separate room to sing, and since the room is small and if you are the only one singing, it sounds sort of messy with all those echoes. This is the only place where the rooms are large enough to cover all that. This place is very luxurious which lures lots of elders and adults. Like the reviews said, it is bit pricey but reasonable considering the service and the ambiance. I came to this place like 3 times now and never hit a bad day. They sell alcohols but, as for me, i only go to karaoke to sing.. rather than being drunk and be all clumsy and embarrassing. (I can't even drink anyway) Service? was decent unlike the reviews. According to my friend who's been here a lot, their ownership changed last year or something and they've been doing good ever since! As for the price, i really want to give them 4 stars and all but I really like going there and after all, i don't even care spending money if I enjoyed it! :) In my opinion, I think this place is better than going to other karaoke joints where all the scary people and drunk and smoking people go. This is a new karaoke spot that advertises its luxuriousness. The rooms are a good size with fancy furniture and hi-tech karaoke song systems. The song selection is okay but not great. I was expecting more new songs. Their room prices are decent but a little high. $25 per hour for a small room, $40 for a medium, and $80 for the largest room. For the area, kinda desolate and borderline ghetto, it seems a tad high. They serve alcohol, mostly beer and shoju (Korean place). I think they also offer whiskey but no other hards. Their food prices are unreasonable. We ordered fried rice for $13 and the portion was small. We experienced good service but upon paying, I vaguely remember getting into a little spat with one of the waiters. I had a lot of fun here tonight!! Came with a great group of friends and had 4 bottles of soju (Yummm!!!)!! They have a good selection of food and drinks, however, I didn't get to try any of it except for Soju + Sprite. They had a good selection of songs, but it was a little difficult to go through them and find ones that I like. They alphabetized them by name of the song, but I think it might've been better if they alphabetized it by artist. Also, would be nice if the mic volume could be adjusted because at times, we were singing really loud but couldn't hear a single thing! Rooms were roomy, sometimes the videos that accompanied the songs were hilarious haha LOVED that "Fantastic" dancing guy whenever you get a high score haha All in all, we all had a great time tonight, the people working there were kind and always came when we rang the little bell. At the end of the night, I thought we were going to get a huge bill because we stayed there for about 3 hours and had 4 bottles of soju plus chasers but when we paid, the bill came out to be very little. I came here with my brother and I have to say that the staff was rude as soon as we entered the establishment as they just stared at us until we asked about the pricing. First of all, it is much more expensive than your average korean style karaoke places. Secondly, the place reeked with the smell of cigarettes and the restroom smelled like a gas station restroom. Wow this place is G-H-ETTO! Not the ambience, per se. The rooms are fine and everything is pretty standard. You order drinks and some munchies from your rooms. Room prices are a bit expensive. But here's the kicker. You come out to pay. They print out a receipt and they stare at you while you sign your name. If you leave no tip, they say, "Aren't you gonna leave a tip?" I was drunk, so I thought I was hearing things. Tip? All I did was sit in a room and sing. Crazy! I felt pressured so I left a tip. Then I was outside. Some chick was leaving to her car and some guy who works there ran outside after her saying,"hey! You didn't leave any tip!" Lol. Are you guys serious? Here's a tip. The guy who's been working here forever. The guy with the longer hair always has a bad attitude greeting the customers. Its probably because he deals with drunk customers the entire time but if a new customer comes, he needs to greet them friendly. But karaoke equipment is old, bad service. Food is horrible. The room also reeked of cigarettes, I asked if they had any non-smoking rooms and she said no. All the song books were also all in Korean, no English options at all. I'll admit, this karaoke place is very fancy with all the new technology and the latest song selection. Other than that, it's thumbs down for me. I bet the owners are penny pinchers, trying to get a single cent out of the customers. The prices are the most expensive that I've ever encountered. $30 for a small room. AND they charge TAX. They truly count every min of the length of your stay. I really hated the waiters though. They aren't very welcoming. And I can't believe that they even have a security guard to check your purses before you get through the door! I really hate this place, and I'll tell everyone and anyone to go somewhere else.
