For selecting the karaoke, I recommend doing Artist and typing in the artist name if you're not Korean. They do have an English selection but it's alphabetical order for the song name not artist name. TIP: There's a man and woman restroom in the back of the karaoke rooms. This karaoke place is decent in that they offer a reasonable price for their selection of songs and they have more options than I would expect in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino music. However, there are a couple of things folks should know before booking. They advertise a birthday special that says you get 1 hour for free after paying for 2 hours. However, the birthday needs to be a week before or a week after the birthday. We were celebrating my friend's birthday just one day before the week mark and we were not told of this technicality beforehand so that was a bummer. The second thing to note is that they do not offer food in these rooms. There is a $5 charge if you decide to bring outside food. The rooms had some feedback with the microphones occasionally which ruined the experience a little bit. Other than that, the chairs were nice, the rooms were soundproof and my friends and I made as much good use of the time in that karaoke room as we can. I'm not gonna lie. This is one of my backup karaoke spots if Idol is too poppin. They're pretty outdated with their song list and I feel like their system of queuing songs can be a bit confusing. I've gone here many times, but I feel like I still need a tutorial when I come here to use their remote. I don't like that when you're looking for songs it takes up half the screen while someone is singing, it can be distracting. Been here 3 times now, and experience has been solid each time. Service is nice and no fuss, you walk in, say your party size and are led to a room. They'll offer to give you a tutorial on how to use the keypad, which is probably is pretty helpful if you've never been or don't speak Korean as the keys are in Hangeul. Afterwards they'll leave you be, to enjoy however long you'd like. Also give you mic covers for cleanliness. Selection of songs is pretty broad and up to date across English and Korean songs, and have only had a handful of times where they didn't have the song I had in mind. Most were not so popular songs, but at the same time they did have other not so popular songs to my surprise. They also have Japanese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese but I don't sing songs in those languages so can't tell you if there's a lot. I believe they have food but I've never had it. They do let you bring in your own water. Sound is nice and loud. You are able to adjust tempo, pitch, etc, and reserve songs while someone is singing. This place does have a scoring system, which for me is a nice plus. Rooms are a bit run down, but screen lyrics are clear. Videos that play are pretty cheesy, but charming. I think it's a humble place to go with close friends and family. I believe the usual rate is $20/hr for parties of 1-4, and happy hour (5-7ish???) I think is $15. Last time I went, I was there for 2.5 hours, so they charged $40. Glad to see a mom-and-pop type karaoke shop still going strong. Had a great time! Came to Cafeoke Ding Dong Dang Saturday night around 11:30 with a group of 4. There was no wait and we were escorted to a room right away. The venue itself was really nice and the workers were friendly as well. In the room there were two mics, two sets of song books, and a tambourine. The mics were good quality. The karaoke system has a large amount of songs. BONUS POINTS FOR HAVING SONGS IN TAGALOG TOO! The prices were also so fair! We meant to only stay an hour. But ended up staying until closing haha IT WAS JUST TOO FUN! I loved that the karaoke system gives you a score and also allows you to change the key. I wish the system could let you choose your own key, but it appeared that the songs were either in a woman's key or a man's key so there were only two keys it could be in. Got a big room for 16 people. I think we sang around 3-4 hours and it turned out to be around $17 a person, which I'm told is decent pricing. First time going karaoke!! It is a little more expensive than expected. First off, the rooms are dark and filled with a dance room sort of lighting. There's 2 screens, 2 microphones, clap thingies and plastic covered seats. They offer food and drink to order, though I only saw the drinks. Water is allowed to be brought in which you will for sure need. The sound quality and song selection is perfect, the only thing is that the microphones can sometimes be finicky. Also fun bit is that they rate your singing after each song LOL. The songs are divided by country so keep that in mind when searching but they really have all the new songs and best selection. There's a small space up front for like two people to stand and the tables big enough to put anything or the crevices behind the seats can be used to put purses. The only thing I found tricky was that the remote was in korean so definitely study up to save time trying to configure the system and also most songs are searched up by item code (wish they posted it online). The bathrooms are alright but seem a bit old. I also found that the room was not sound proof to a big group of people so I heard them outside of the door LOL but it just means good energy. Overall, I really liked this karaoke place. I felt like the worker was chill and really accommodating to our group, even staying later to clean up and minded his own business besides our volume. We had very diverse tastes in music but the song selection was able to accomodate anything. As a first time karaoker, the only thing I would recommend is studying up on using the remote and song selection numbers beforehand ( huuge binder) to save time :). read more

I have suddenly found myself at karaoke joints more times over the past few months than ever before. Ding Dong Dang is right next to that Matcha joint and the Korean hot dog place. In a random plaza in Garden Grove. We didn't have to wait on a Friday night for our party of six (we came around 8 -12?) And our total was around $25 which isn't bad when you are hosting your own mini-concert. I liked the choice of songs and it's easy to find artists/songs - way more updated than the physical book they have. I did find that sometimes the music was a little loud but I'm not sure how we can fix that. I enjoyed the lighting, atmosphere and seeing the grade you get after a performance. This place is super awesome! I was in charge of a company outing and everyone wanted to go karaoke, so I actually called other places, but they were all reserved. This place was my last option, but it should have been my first. We came around 9:30 pm last night. The receptionist was very nice and helpful! He let us check out the large room to see if we could fit everyone, helped us use the remote, and checked in on us for drinks and more. Excellent service!! We originally wanted use the extra large room because we had 17 people total. But, it was already occupied, so we opted for their large room, and it was enough to fit all of us! Granted, 2 people sat on stools, and 2 were sitting on the floor, but it was still spacious, not stuffy, yet cozy. Everyone was comfortable! I originally wanted to avoid this place since they didn't use YouTube and I was afraid they would only have super old songs. HOWEVER, last night, any song our party looked for, we would be able to find! They even have Drake's CLB album!! I arrived at the store at 1:10 AM. The owner told us that since we arrived late, we would be charged the hourly rate. I politely asked if the price could be slightly reduced. However, the owner replied, "Absolutely not," and I then politely asked if we could sing for just a little while. The owner did not respond and simply started tidying up the trash in front of us, ignoring my words for about five minutes. Despite this, I wanted to have a good time with my friend, so I asked if we could have a room at the normal hourly rate. The owner replied, "No, I refuse to let you in." When I asked for the reason, he said it was because the last call was at 1 AM. I was not informed of the last call time when I called, nor was I told about it when we first arrived. I would have understood if he had refused due to my request being unreasonable. I felt very unfair, but I was too scared to say anything else due to the owner's threatening tone. I simply said, "Take care," and left. We just wanted to sing some songs late at night with friends, without having had a single drink, and I made my request politely. This is now my new go-to spot for karaoke! If you know me, I'm always down for karaoke! THe place itself is pretty good, the deal is phenomenal! I came during happy hour time around 2:30, we were there for 3 hours and the bill was $35. Happy hour is 50% plus you get a free extra hour if you stay for 2 hours. So essentially you're playing for the price of 1 hour but you get to sing your heart out for 3 hours. I went with a group of six and we were all exhausted after 3 hours of singing, well I wasn't lol. But if you break it down, 35 divided into 6 people is a really great deal for 3 hours of singing! That's less than 2 bucks an hour per person for the math lovers out there! My friends and I went to Cafeoke for karaoke this past Saturday. We had a room fit for 9 people which was essentially a giant booth inside a room with two microphones and two screens. The karaoke remote was in Korean but my friend Grace can read it so she helped us figure it out. They have a fridge up front with cold drinks and some snacks you can purchase but they allow you to bring your own. My friends took advantage of the BYOB and we might have gotten a tad tipsy while reenacting our favorite songs. In between songs, I made a trip to the ladies room. The restroom didn't have any seat covers and there was a sign that says not to put toilet paper in the toilet which was confusing to say the least. If people actually put their toilet paper in the trashcan, that's disgusting. The trash bag was empty as far as I could tell but it was still fairly early. Time flew by fast. I was there from 9:30 pm til midnight but my friends powered through until they closed. I'm not sure how much the room was in total but was told to bring $20 which I happily plunked down as I was leaving. It was a great time with friends, but stay away from the restroom. read more
