I booked their "Idyllcreek A-Frame Cabin" for Oct 20-23, 2025. I was charged a credit card processing fee without being offered any alternative payment method (which violates CA Civil Code §1748.1), and the booking interface misrepresented the refundable deposit as if it were not included in the total. After payment, I discovered: * The fireplace was unusable * The jacuzzi was only half full, with jets barely working * There was no clear mention of checkout time until after booking When I brought this up, the host didn't try to resolve anything. Instead of offering goodwill or admitting anything could've been handled better, they doubled down and blamed me, even after I showed them screenshots and law references. I ended up filing a credit card dispute and escalating the matter to BBB and the California Attorney General. This business prioritizes profit over people and plays games with how fees are displayed and amenities described. There are better places in Idyllwild, and likely, more honest ones too. read more

A-Frame Cabin is A-mazing. I had done a Yelp search of where to stay in Idyllwild for an upcoming short vacation and fell upson the stellar reveiws for this little place...I was not disappointed. Upon arrival, I was so delighted at the look and location of the cabin, that I - literally- began to jump up and down like a little kid. It is adorable. Nestled against a tiny creek, amidst blue jays and quail and squirrels, this was the perfect get away. Inside, a cozy living room, complete with fireplace and television (though it took me a minute to figure out how to adjust the surround sound) a fully equipped kitchen, small office space, full bathroom downstairs, half bath upstairs, an extra bedroom with a double bed and a gorgeous, comfortable queen sized bed up a set of winding stairs, I truly could not have been happier. I was able to cook at "home" every meal (after a quick visit to Fairway Foods less than a mile away), walk through town all day, and snuggle inside all night. There are even annual parking passes to the local national forests, so next time we stay, we'll make a trip to check it out, and with the amount of space and sleeping arrangements, next time we may also bring some friends along! I look forward to my next trip to Idyllwild, and, withouth question, will be staying at the A-Frame Cabin. read more

Idyllcreek was an absolutely wonderful getaway from the city for several days. The whole cabin was very clean and comfortable, plus it's beautiful! The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials needed, so all we needed to bring were food and drinks. It's dog friendly - there were even dog bowls provided for pups! The place is located at the end of a road so it's pretty calm and peaceful. But it's also close enough to town that it's a quick walk (about 10 minutes). Reserving the cabin online was quick and easy. The owners are responsive if you have questions in advance of your stay (I had emailed a question and received a response in less than 24 hours). If you want a lovely place for some glamping adventures, I really recommend Idyllcreek. July 2021 stay. read more

Idyllcreek was the perfect getaway from the fast pace I used to in Los Angeles. The fresh mountain air and cool breeze were exactly what my friends and I needed. The cabin came equip with plenty of cozy blankets, books, games, and a guitar which made the night that much more fun. If you have a furry pet they are pet friendly just let the owners know in advance. Last but not least their hot tub was incredible, I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. read more

Family of 4. 2 adults. 2 4-year old kids. Some good, some bad; Good; secluded, forest area. Rustic feeling, "different" feeling from traditional houses etc. the little creek is adorable. Owners communicate well. There's a car "back entrance" you could use that's not really sign posted. Main bed is comfy, but hard to access for tall person. Needs improvement; can't access front door when you arrive. Only openable area is the back door. Slight inconvenience, not huge. AC is "tacked on" with window units that are really loud. Idyllwild has gotten hotter during the summers over the years, so AC has become "needed" during middle of summer. So be prepared to either be hot during the day, or have a loud boost on. Other houses nearby were incredibly loud, thumping music until midnight keeping us and kids awake. The floors upstairs creak so much that if you get up at night it wakes up everybody in the house 2nd bed is not usable for anybody beyond kids (I think). Very small. There is no way to "darken" the place, so keep that in mind. Sun up at 5.30am makes for a bright place at that time. Bad; front patio is worn off, splintery wood. Dangerous for kids to play on. Upon arrival we'd have to clean patio, chairs and table outside first to use it. All fine, but not expected for 320/night. The interior for the rest is "worn". Ready for a paint/stain job, updated doors, updated shelves etc. Now we might have returned, but the only part that makes this place a no-return; there was an incredible smell of smoke in the place. Like it had burned, or like it had chain smokers for weeks.. It caused havoc on our allergies making it that we hardly slept. It needs some major air venting for a while. We'll try some of their other properties in the future. read more

This place was very old and needed severe updating. Mold along the bathroom floor, gaps in the ceiling, and the upstairs bathroom is very old and needs updating. The spiral staircase is very narrow and dangerous. I would suggest Idyllcove, their sister property, is much more updated and nicer. read more

This A frame is everything i expected and more! I took my parents up to Idyllwild for a 3 day mini-vacation and to hike Tahquitz Peak. This cabin offered us everything we could possibly need. It is located at the end of the street, next to a small creek. It offers tons of privacy (even with the open windows that is the A Frame.) It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, tons of space downstairs, two patios, and a Jacuzzi (which we did not use this time) The stairs that lead to the bedroom upstairs, are a bit steep and scared both my mother and my dog - but they are very do-able. Kelly is an excellent host and was available via text during our entire stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who loves being submerged in nature and wants a little get away. read more

The cabin itself is dog friendly, rustic, clean, cozy, and has a lot of amenities. (Fireplace, WiFi, cable, heat and ac, hot tub, fire pit, surround sound.) My boyfriend and I booked this A-frame cabin to celebrate our 3 year anniversary (during the end of September) and we were SO glad we did!! I almost didn't want to write a positive review because I'm worried it'll get more difficult to book in the future. This well-equipped cabin was not only located conveniently next town (walking distance: about 10 min | by car: 5 min), but the owners also provided us with everything we needed to live comfortably. We cooked majority of the time we were there, and all the cabinets were filled with everything we needed, such as plates, cups, tupperware, utensils, cooking supplies, spices, condiments, aluminum foil, saran wrap, and more! They literally spoil you with everything you need. Not to mention they even had a ninja blender, grinder, french press, wafflemaker, juicer, outdoor grill, etc! I am so worried that the next glamping trip is going to be a downer with how convenient it was to stay here. Driving: it was a good two hour drive from Orange County. There is a winding road up the mountain that got me slightly nauseous, so for those of you that get car sick easily, bring gum and don't read in the car during this process. I also wouldn't recommend driving here at night if it's your first time because the road can get dangerous and the cabin might get difficult to find when it's dark out. I arrived around 4pm since the check-in time wasn't until then and had no problem finding it :)! Location: The A-frame is next to a few other cabins that I believe are also rented out. If you go during a busy season, expect to have some temporary neighbors. They're all a a good distance apart, so you don't have to worry too much about privacy. The evenings were quiet and peaceful. One concern I did have was one of the residents that lived along the streets had a dog that barked from 4-9pm. We were concerned if it was going to bark all night but I'm sure they knew better than to leave their dog outside. This was a trend during our stay there. Weather: During the day it ranged from 75-85 degrees. In the evening it fell to the low 65-70 degrees, which got pretty chilly, so the fireplace came to good use! Don't judge me, I grew up in Sunny Socal, so my body ain't used to chilly weather! Cost: I did a ton of research on other cabins within CA that were much smaller and much more expensive. I honestly think this place is underrated and is worth way more than they charge. Amenities: Like I mentioned in the first paragraph, the owners (Kelly and Joey) are extremely generous. The kitchen had everything we needed and so did the bathrooms (i.e. toilet paper, make up remover, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, and fresh towels). They even had a laundry machine in the basement. Besides that, they had a lovely fireplace with some wood already sitting in there. I didn't know this until after my boyfriend told me but there's a basket full of old newspapers and magazines next to the fireplace, which he said was used to keep the fire going. *** If this is not what the owner expected for us to do, we are extremely sorry for burning your newspapers + magazines!! ahhh! *** WIFI/Cable TV: When you come to a place like this, I hope you're not expecting to be attached to your electronics! But the owners knew that our generation is pretty much dysfunctional without one so they added it (how much more can you spoil us!) Granted, the speed wasn't lighting fast but it was enough to do quick research on hiking trails nearby and to...... stream a movie! They also have cable television with pretty much every essential channel, so that's an option too. Cleanliness: We noticed a few spider webs in certain corners of the home, but it wasn't enough to gross us out. I am a huge germ freak so when I say this place is clean, it is. There were no discoloration on the kitchen counter tops or the carpet floor. The fridge/freezer was very clean, no stains, no stench, no nada. The sofa and pillows were in good condition. The bedding and mattress was also wrapped in multiple sheets, which made the bed feel sooo soft. Aw man, I loved that bed. It wasn't too springy, wasn't too temperpedic-y, and was just right. I usually get back aches whenever I sleep in a new bed but woke up feeling AWESOME the next day. Architecture: Since it's an A-frame, you should expect to deal with angled ceilings (such as the shower on the first floor, the bathroom on the second floor, and of course the master bedroom). It takes a bit of getting used to for tall people but you'll learn to appreciate the architecture of the home. Right now is about the time I get concerned if Yelp will even let me post this much, so I'll leave at that. I think I've voiced enough about how amazing this cabin is and can guarantee that you'll have a great experience too. My husband and I just stayed here for 4 nights. The cabin is awesome. It is walking distance to town, yet very private feeling. It is very well appointed, stocked with everything you need to have a cozy comfortable stay. The host Kelly was very attentive with fantastic communication. The front and back decks are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful quiet surroundings. The bed was super comfortable and everything was very clean. We booked this site for Valentine's Day weekend 2015, a full FIVE months earlier (in September 2014), paid in full. A day before we were set to drive to it, we asked for directions, and were then informed that the host had double-booked it and the other family was already there. Nothing to be done. We stayed here with our young son, and we all had a wonderful time. The cabin is lovely and well stocked, and the owners leave very clear instructions. We couldn't have asked for more. What can we say? We are in love with Idyllcreek Cabin! Being able to jump in the car and escape the heat with just a short drive, to be able to spend time away at Idyllcreek cabin was the perfect remedy for our family this summer! Not only did we love Idyllwild and the cool weather, but everything involved with staying at Idyllcreek was just what you want: professional, clean and organized. The cabin is adorable, the accommodations are great with the wi-fi internet (!), and we love the huge glass front and being able to rest on the sofa and see through the glass, all the way to the tops of the trees! This was one of the best relaxing weekends (Early January) my family (total 4, 2 boys 8 and 3) and I had. The Cabin was very clean and very comfortable. everything we could have needed or thought of we found. The location is just great, nested between the trees, the large window, the warmth of the cabin, the super clean kitchen and bathrooms. All was just great. we could not have asked for a better place. Last Thursday my boyfriend and I decided to take a last minute weekend getaway. We stumbled across Idyllcreek and their charming A frame home. On a hunch I quickly booked it. The price was competitive to a room at an inn, but this was your own house. Within minutes of contacting the owner we were able to secure the spot. Upon arrival the place was just as charming, if not more than we expected. We felt at home right away. The home is tastefully decorated, clean and has EVERYTHING you could even imagine you might need. Seriously, we could not believe how much it had to offer. The fireplace was stocked, the wine bottle opener we forgot to bring was there, everything we needed to make a three course meal, including a few missing ingredients... there! It was really amazing. The heat, tv, dvd and all appliances were new and easy to use. The owners really did not miss a single detail. We found it really cool that you could leave behind your non-perishables for someone to enjoy. We don't have kids, but if we did they would have had two comfy beds to sleep in and tons of games to play with! We did bring a dog and she asked us if she had died and gone to heaven. My family and I had a wonderful time at Idyllcreek cabin! It was really hard to leave. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you need to make you feel at home. Our children enjoyed all the board games provided. We loved sitting on the patio, admiring our beautiful surroundings. We all slept great. The cabin is beautifully decorated and clean. It is a nice walk into town. Kelly was so nice to communicate with and helped us check-in/check-out smoothly. My family and I love Idyllwild! My husband and I stayed at Idyllcreek with our two kids (five and two) just after the new year and had a fabulously relaxing four days. We got unbelievably lucky in terms of our timing and had a beautiful snowfall the day we arrived; our Angeleno kids awoke to falling snow, and could not have been happier. as a previous reviewer said, Idyllcreek is really well stocked -- I had, for once, packed well with flashlights, batteries and the like NONE of which was necessary as the house was really well attended. The owner's instructions were immaculately detailed AND when we called about trying to get out of the driveway because so much snow had fallen, Kelly was really responsive and took care of us immediately. She was also incredibly generous in letting us use other items in the house that wouldn't have ordinarily have occurred to us to touch (mittens, sleds, etc.). We all hope to go back again -- maybe even this year -- it was very easy and lots of fun. read more
