Great experience here. The instructor we were given was very nice. She went over everything with us and calmed our nerves. They provided jump suit, ear plugs, hair hat, helmet with shield or goggles and a helmet, your choice. It was a really fun experience and will definitely be back. Skydiving? Nooo thanks! Ifly-ing? Absolutely! Such an incredibly fun experience! I am afraid of heights but felt no fear and had a fantastic time. First, a staff member trains you how to "fly," since your arms and legs control your movement. You sign out special attire to wear over your clothes. Then watch others while waiting for your groups' turn - including the talented staff who put on a brief acrobatic ifly show periodically showcasing their Ifly skills, you alternate going into the tube and flying. A staff person helps, and spun us around as he led each of us toward the top of the tube. Was such an incredible experience, I strongly recommend it. Great for a gift! read more

I went to iFly with a platonic male friend and our grammar school aged sons... So a group of four people. Plenty of parking, and the place is very easy to get to off of Route 4. When we entered the place, I noticed right away how spotless the facility was. I don't know why I would expect garbage to be laying around a place that is centered around a giant leaf-blower, but either way, I was pleasantly surprised with just how immaculate it looked. The young lady who helped us with the waiver process was very charming (I believe her name was Maya, and she had a nose ring). At first, I thought I was going to be deemed "too gravitationally challenged" for the experience because there was a weight limit of 300 pounds and I had just finished a late lunch. So when Maya had asked me to step on the scale in front of her kiosk, it was the first time I had ever stepped on a scale and hoped to put up a big number. Unfortunately, I was NOT "too fat to fly", so Maya had me sign both mine and my son's lives away with a large legal waiver, and we were then ushered into the next room where we would be geared up for the flight. Maya handed us off to Ben, who would then take us through the rest of the day. Ben gave the other 3 in our party light blue jumpsuits, but then went in the back to pull out an oversized black one me that I found to be uncomfortable on many levels. First off, the black vs blue color of the suit itself was essentially a scarlet F (fat) on my chest. Secondly, even though my nickname is a not-so-subtle allusion to my almost glandular look, my parameters are deceptively smaller to the eye than one would think. I am 6'5" tall and 280 pounds fat, and the jumpsuit they gave me wasn't as accommoding as I would have hoped. It was tight everywhere I didn't want it to be tight. Ben geared us all with helmets, goggles, and jumpsuits. He had us secure all of our worldly possessions in a locker, and then led us into another room where we watched a surprisingly short 4 minute instructional video on how to indoor skydive. I will tell all potential iFlyers, the time you spend in the chamber itself literally flies by. We each did 3 separate minute-and-a-half flights, and the only reason I was eager to end each of them short was because I felt like my arms were going to rip out of my fucking shoulders. I don't think "normal" people will have the same experience because my aforementioned size meant that my "wings" were tasked with providing enough lift for what is essentially a 280 pound bag of mayonnaise in a snug black catsuit. I hope this review so far has been one of positivity, because even though I was hesitant to try this utterly stupid pastime, I walked away happy that I did. Here's my only dig. There is a popular term in the world of pornography called "cuckholding", which, for the uninitiated YELPer, is a man who willingly encourages his wife to sleep with other people because it brings him pleasure. The term usually comes with a stigma of humiliation, because allowing another guy to ride your bike while you sit on the porch and jerk off is not what most would consider a "valiant effort." Kids today have shortened the term of being cuckholded to simply being "cucked", because we all know how busy young people are, and the trimming of 2 marginally superfluous syllables gives them the much more time to play Fortnight. Back to my dig... No matter how confident you are, when you enter that chamber for the first, second, and third time, you give yourself over to the instructor. You essentially look a strange man named Ben in the eye, and say, "Please keep me safe.", before leaning forward into a chamber with a jet engine below your feet. Furthermore, Ben is tasked with the unfortunate job of not only keeping you safe, but also afloat... So he has to physically manipulate your body in a way that is reminiscent of watching a marine veterinarian assist a manatee with childbirth. I haven't given myself freely to a man since Rikers Island, and I have to admit, I didn't feel bad about it until I saw myself on video... Ben has his way with my grotesque body, and I can only hover there and watch him do it. Total cuck. I am going to wrap this review up pretty soon, but I want the takeaway for potential flyers to be this: iFly in Paramus is a safe and clean place to go if you want to add a little excitement in your life. But be prepared to give up a little bit of your manhood in the process. And finally, these last 3 words that will follow will mean nothing to you YELPers, but it will mean the world to the dozen or so people who religiously read every other blog I write for Barstool Finance... Showed up 9 minutes late. They have a no refund and an incompetent reschedule for another day or much later in the day. Horrible service. After raising my voice, I was able to at least get the kids to go a half hour later and get a refund. Terrible place. Try a different location. The manager basically said "too bad. A MUST! EASY, FUN,FRIENDLY I had the most incredible time during my session at iFly that afterwards I bought 10 more flights! I checked in with Krista, the Manager, who was extremely friendly, upbeat, helpful, positive and informative. I met my instructor James who was ready and raring to go with a great attitude and personable. James gave me a flight suit that goes over your clothes (wear comfy Clothes) and a helmet. We then went to a room with a table for students to lay on belly down to practice how to arch, bend arms and legs for best airborne and various hand signals. The flight chamber is large and goes high. There's a stoplight to indicate when your 3-minute flight is nearing the end and over. James was an excellent instructor informing me how to enter, depart and guiding me around the chamber with his arms gently under my abdomen. It was extremely fun, fun, fun. I wanted to go higher but one needs more flight time before that is permitted. It's a very welcoming place with excellent staff. One note...the next day my rear-end was sore from squeezing to arch my back. Highly recommended. read more

My husband and I have always talked about trying this but the Yonkers one is kind of far and annoying to get to and ALWAYS booked up. We lucked out when searching for things to do for date night and found that this one JUST opened up this week. We were skeptical of the cost because it's just a lot of money for parents to spend on a date night (#momguilt) but we said, Whatever - let's go. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Check in process was simple and easy. Our instructor Kevin was AMAZING - you can tell he likes what he's doing. We had a teeny tiny little kid in our group and he was able to do it just as good if not better than the rest of us with Kevin's coaching. Some of us struggled more than others and he was just super positive and made it a great experience for all. The high flight add on seemed like a waste at first because we didn't know what it was and were thinking, we already spent so much money BUT- after your first flight, they give you the chance to add on the high flight option as a last minute thing and we did - and it was AWESOME. A second flyer comes in and takes you all the way up to the top (kind of like when those fancy sky divers do the fancy partner stuff in the air - yeah that) and spins you all around (you literally do nothing different - they do all the work and you look super cool!) It's just super fun - and not scary at all! Totally worth the 10 extra bucks in my and my husbands opinion. If you are afraid of heights, I don't think this will bother you if you just do the regular flight as you are only ever 2-6 feet off the ground. There is no feeling of free falling as you are basically being pushed UP by a MASSIVE blast of air. I never felt unsafe or nervous - it was just pure fun. We actually purchased passes to come back with the kids because we liked it so much and because we saw how good the little one in our group did that night. My only wish was that we were allowed to bring our phones in the waiting chamber as it was just the 2 of us and we would have loved some pics or videos. I know they offer some for you to purchase, but I would have rather been able to get SOME footage on our own since it was so expensive, so I would say bring someone to hang out and wait and watch you so they can see it and take pics/videos. People who come with you can wait and watch on the outside of the flight chamber and see everything, which is also very cool. I also enjoyed at the end, your flight instructor does their own solo flight where they show off all their skills - which of course, makes me think this needs to be my next career cause they make it look so easy and fun! Ok. This place advertises that this is appropriate for kids aged 3 and above but the instructor we got was not trained to work with kids that young. I went with my 4 year old and while he was nice to him before the flight (fitting him with gear and all), he did not know how to handle a child that young once inside. He kept holding him in a fetal position the entire first flight and cut short his second flight saying my son "wanted" to get out. That is not true because immediately after my son was removed, he started crying because he couldn't understand why his flight was cut short and wanted to go back to complete it. He was clearly enjoying it! Even after I stated that there is a misunderstanding and my son was clearly upset about his flight being cut short, the instructor did not offer to take him in to complete the last 30 seconds. He just stood there while my son bawled. We were given a voucher for 2 additional flights after we complained. I am giving 2 stars simply because the instructor at least tried with my 8 year old nephew who was nervous and gave him a decent experience during his second flight after my sister in law politely told him that he was nervous. read more

the worse rip off in history of rip offs 4 minutes for $150!!! if you were expecting to really fly as shown in the pics better keep your money, you will stay close to the ground with an instructor always holding you to make sure you dont have fun they make you watch a few mins video before and then you go into the wind tunnel as they call it to be close to the ground with some guy behing the glass controlling the intensity of the wind. I was beyond baffled. there is no training or anything.its not like they show you how to do it so you can really get the experience. When I purchased the flights i didnt know how many minutes was the experience but i surely didnt think it was going to be 4 minutes: They advertise it as 4 flights $150 or 2 flights $90 when its actually 4 minutes and 2 minutes. they mislead customers making them think they have several flights lasting a certain amount of minutes when its actually one flight of 2minutes, 3 minutes or 4minutes RIP OFF!!! read more

If you are just a little too afraid to jump out of a plane, then iFly is for you. It costs about $80 a person. You are assigned a flight coach who works with your group. You have to go through the safety class first which takes about 15 minutes before you engage in the actual activity. We had to wait a bit because there were two groups in front of us but that allowed us time to take pics in our flight suits. Once it was our turn, each person was able to take two 1 minute flights. The coach is in the wind tunnel with you and ensures you stay safe. The 60 seconds seem so long once you are in there. Although the time is short, you will still have a great time. I highly recommend adding on the high flight for an extra $10. Our coach, Kevin, was awesome. He was reassuring and supportive and even issued some feedback as he handed out our certificates. I had a great time, something to definitely do, with the boyfriend or the kids etc. While I was getting fitted for a helmet, there was a girl who works there who was making fun of me having to go up a size for three times. Make fun of the customers in the back like normal workers not in their faces. It would have been a five had I not have to go through that. The instructor with all the tattoos (I'm bad with names) was AMAZING, I went in there like a pro and his direction was super good. It was such a great experience! My friend received a gift voucher and asked me to join her. Our initial impression was that this was just a place for kids since we saw some children coming out as we were entering. However, iFLY Indoor Skydiving is suitable for all ages. We got the package which includes for 2 flights + virtual reality. My friend made an appointment for 10:00 am on a Saturday and upon our arrival, we checked-in ourselves through one of their machines and then a member of their Flight Crew assisted us on putting on our wristband and asked us to sit to the side until our scheduled session. While we waited, we were able to observe other flyers. Our instructor, James called out to the people sitting and asked those who were in the 10:00 am session to follow him and everyone in the session were given a flight suit and goggles. Then James brought us to a room for a training session which entails a short video about indoor skydiving and hand signals to know when we are in the wind tunnel. After the training, we were instructed to put on earbuds and given helmets and the instructor would adjust the helmet and goggles to ensure they are properly put on. And then we waited until the previous session was finished until it was our turn to enter the wind tunnel. When we walked into the wind tunnel, we sat on a bench and we would take turns with other flyers depending on how many flights each flyer has purchased. Since my friend and I had three flights, we went first and then after our turn we would go to the end of the bench and other flyers would move up as it was their turn. Each flight is 1 minute and there is a screen with a timer and as the last 10 seconds approached, there were lights flashing on the bottom of the screen informing the instructor. After the flights, they give you a certificate. Overall it was really fun! And a tip for the ladies that have long hair to make sure its tucked in the helmet or in a bun because I did not and after the first flight a strand of hair stuck out of my helmet and after 3 flights my hair was a mess and very knotty. read more

But one instructor is not very good and struggles so much it's hard to watch and we just hope and request we don't have to have her. Our second time- both times it was well run, professional and safe- I cant say enough good things about the instructors - they are GREAT The first time we had a young man named Nick and yesterday Sean - both times they went out of their way to greet and speak to the boys at eye level to explain and reassure them- then took the time in the tunnel to make them feel safe and be able to take off and really have an amazing time. I It was a super confidence builder for both boys- ( aged 5 and 8) While the first time may seem costly if it's something you /the kids want to do- you can purchase 10 minutes for $130 and can fly longer - Absolutely recommend and will be back! This past weekend I gifted this for a birthday gift and the concept is a good idea but what your getting for $99 (peak period price) is so not worth it. Don't think for a minute what you see in the commercials is what your getting. Your barely 5 feet off the ground and an instructor is holding you most of the time. This wasn't what I expected and for this reason I don't recommend this... we got there at 3:15 and didn't get our turn until about 4:30, little kids may enjoy but adults will feel ripped off. read more

The location is great, the facility is great, the staff is great!!! Why only 2 stars you ask? Well, we went there on Friday 6/21 for the "All Abilities" experience for my 13-year-old son, who just finished his last day of 7th grade. While the instructor(s) was great with the other flyers, they were DEFINITELY NOT properly trained in handling Special Needs kids. My son is in a wheelchair & has Cerebral Palsy (CP) with tight hip-flexors. This gives him trouble standing with assistance, much less on his own. During the training they give you before your flight, I had a feeling that this wouldn't work for my son because of the way the instructor explained you had to position yourself. BUT, I didn't want to LIMIT my son in any way & decided to see if he could do it. As soon as they got him into the silo, I knew these guys were not Special Abilities trained. During my son's entire flight, he was positioned SIDEWAYS in a fetal position because neither instructor grabbed him properly to put him in the tube. They also DID NOT film the flight, which leads me to believe they don't want that going viral. My son definitely did NOT enjoy the experience, & said he might not try it again. If iFly wants to consider themselves ALL ABILITIES, they need to train ALL their instructors in handling individuals with Special Needs!!!!! To add insult to injury, they didn't offer to give my son's 2nd flight (it's 2 x 1-minute sessions) to either myself or my nephew. We were so concerned about his well-being that we forgot until we were on our way home. The ALL ABILITIES theme is a GREAT CONCEPT, but NEEDS to be DELIVERED or CARRIED OUT PROPERLY!!! read more

I bought a 3 trip (1minute each trip with all the extras) package to take my 10 year old grandson for his first fly trip. The iFLY people were so great. They were happy to answered all my questions. All the prep was handled by enthusiastic and helpful guides. My grandson was the first one in his group and to our surprise, he didn't like it. When we pulled him from the group, the guides asked if we would like them to talk to him to see how they could help him. They were terrific. We declined and they immediately started to refund part of the package we didn't use (high flight) and gave us a voucher for the 2 flights he didn't take. Outstanding service. Let me say first of all I never leave yelp reviews but i HAD to for this place. I took my boyfriend here as part of his birthday surprise, due to him getting out of work late we were gonna be 30 minutes late for our reservation. I called beforehand and they moved our reservation to a later time but because of all this we were going to be late to his surprise party right after. I told the staff my situation and they helped give my boyfriend and I the full experience AND helped us get out at a good time to make it to his party while not saying anything in front of him!! Coolest staff ever, helped me make my boyfriends birthday as special as possible. Wish I could've done something to thank them for being so understanding and helpful. This is such a blast. New location for us, we have also been to the one in Westchester. Our instructor, Kenneth, was outstanding, he made sure my daughters, aged 11 and 14 understood what was going on and were fully comfortable. I saw some of the negative reviews on here regarding timing and scheduling. Cut this place some slack! If you don't want to wait, go off peak, we went on a Sunday morning and there was no wait. The later in the day, the busier it will be, gotta do some common sense planning. I highly suggest this location, it was so much fun and I love watching my kids fly around in the wind tunnel.
