The biggest problem was the meat department. Several customers, including me, stood at the service counter for 20-30 minutes waiting for assistance. We repeatedly called out, looked around for an employee, and no one came. It got so bad that the bread delivery driver took it upon himself to find a manager because there was simply no one available to help customers. After finally getting assistance and finishing our shopping, the experience only got worse. The employee at the customer service desk was rude, dismissive, and acted like helping customers was an inconvenience. There was no courtesy, no apology for the excessive wait, and no concern whatsoever for the poor experience. Customer service throughout the store was virtually nonexistent. Employees were difficult to find, no one seemed interested in helping, and the overall atmosphere felt disorganized and neglected. This store has serious problems with cleanliness, staffing, and customer service. Waiting half an hour at a service counter is unacceptable, and being treated rudely afterward makes it even worse. There are too many other grocery stores in Bloomington to waste time and money at a place that clearly doesn't value its customers. Until Kroger addresses the filthy conditions, chronic understaffing, and poor customer service, I cannot recommend shopping at this location.

That's a nice change of pace. Standard Kroger aisles barely have enough room for the customers thanks to all of the excessive displays. I've shopped there a couple of times, and it actually wasn't too bad. It wasn't that good, but it wasn't that bad. (This is why I've been waffling between 2 and 3 stars.) I almost dropped it to 2 stars for ---- the deli. UGH! My girlfriend thought she'd be nice and grab some chicken, potato wedges, and mac and cheese to bring home. MISTAKE!!! The mac and cheese was passable. The potato wedges were edible. The chicken. OOOOH the chicken. I'm not sure how to describe it. It was almost like trying to eat some king of putty. It was dry and overcooked. When I call it dry, I don't mean a little dry, I mean dry as in it might have been cooked that morning and sat under a heat lamp all day. WOW. You know what? Being Sicilian and Italian, every time I head down to Lake Monroe to take the boat out, Little Italy Market has become a mandatory stop to fill the cooler. The Turkey and the Many Meats are my go-to sandwiches, and they never disappoint. Everything is fresh, the portions are huge, and these are easily some of the best deli sandwiches I've found anywhere in Indiana. I actually find myself craving them when I'm back home in Indy. If I lived in Bloomington, I'd definitely be a regular for the Italian grocery selection too. But for me, the sandwiches are the star of the show. The family running the place is always incredibly friendly, and they're more than happy to add or change anything on a sandwich to make it exactly how you want it. Little Italy Market is one of those locally owned places you hope sticks around forever. Great food, huge sandwiches, friendly people, and a little taste of the Italian neighborhood culture I miss.
