There's science experiments and many rooms to explore to do activities in. There are groups in the camp: yellow, red, blue, and purple. The groups all represent different age groups, so you can play with people your age. It's a fun place with everything a child would dream of doing, and the staff are really nice too. There's educational classes for reading and art. The camp also tires out all the children by making lots of play which tires them to sleep extra early. It's a big place with a lot of running around space and do activities inside the building! There are a lot of board games to play such as Monopoly, Bingo, Uno, and Connect 4! A lot of children go there, and plat time, I hope to be there again soon.

One feature we especially appreciate is the SproutAbout app. It's a great way to stay connected throughout the day by viewing classroom updates and photos of our child. The app also provides the daily schedule, breakfast and lunch menus, and other important updates, making it easy to know what's happening even while we're at work. Ms. Amanda, the principal, knows everyone that walks through the door, both the kids and the family. Our son has some food allergies and Ms Amanda, Ms Paula and all the teachers have been excellent at working with us and keeping our son safe. The staff truly gets to know the kids and takes care of them well. They are careful with big transitions and try to ensure the children feel as supported as possible. The staff plans and executes lots of fun and engaging activities, like a Touch a Truck, a reptile show, splash days in the summer, soccer and music opportunities and celebrates all cultures exposing the kids and to a world of celebrations. Our son has blossomed during his time at Chesterbrook and we would highly recommend the school.

The teachers are so loving and clearly care deeply for the kids. My baby bursts into a big smile each morning when we drop him off with his teachers. We get daily updates on bottles/food and diaper changes, plus photos of him solo and him interacting with the other babies in the classroom. I have watched [my child] in the app and my heart is filled with warm fuzzies. Ms. Helen and Ms. Wei are rocking the classroom! The children are so engaged! And they are doing so many things! What I am seeing in the app, without even exchanging words, is evidence that [my child] is receiving exactly the care and learning opportunities and adventures that I anticipated when I toured with Ms. Sabrina and opted to switch to this school! The main factors that drew me to Karter was the opportunity for [my child] to move around, not be stuck in one classroom all day and the varying enrichments to keep engaged. We unfortunately had a disappointing experience with Karter School's summer camp (One Loudoun) that…read moreI think is important for other parents to be aware of. During camp, our six-year-old was involved in an incident with another child that resulted in him hitting his head against a window. We completely understand that incidents between children can happen, and our concern was never simply that the incident occurred. Our concern was how it was handled afterward. We were not contacted by phone when the head injury occurred and instead received a brief app message much later in the day, shortly before pickup. Given his age and the fact that it involved his head, we felt strongly that we should have been notified promptly so we could understand what happened, how he was assessed, and make decisions about his care. After we raised our concerns, Karter Schools conducted an investigation and acknowledged that aspects of the situation and communication could have been handled better. But because our son no longer felt comfortable returning for the final day of camp, they also agreed to refund us for that day. Unfortunately, more than a month later, we still have not received the promised refund. We have followed up three separate times and have not received a response or update. This is extremely frustrating given our original complaint was about lack of communication and now they are continuing to display that again. I'm sharing this not because we expect children's programs to prevent every incident, but because communication and follow-through matter tremendously when parents are trusting an organization with their children. We appreciated that our initial concerns were investigated and acknowledged (after pushing back on it), but the lack of follow-through since then has added to what was already a disappointing experience.
