I requested a quote to remove an 18 year old Sundance spa that's been an eye sore on my patio for some time. Out of about 10 quote requests I sent out, Matt was the first to respond via Yelp, some still haven't responded. Not only did Matt have a quote to me within 10 minutes of the request (I provided dimensions and weight estimate), he had the lowest price, beating some competitors by $100 or more. Now this hot tub was no light weight either, old and rotting from many years in the weather. Matt was willing to schedule next day in the AM on a Saturday (since it was after 5pm on Friday), but I had commitments so we scheduled for Monday. He stayed in touch and arrived at the time we scheduled. They prepped and rolled this behemoth out in under an hour, and also took the extra time to clean up some of the mess the old hot tub left behind. I called iHaul Junk on a Sunday, and asked if I was in their service area. I was told they could come out, and they set me up for a 10am appointment on Monday. I was told to expect $750 per full trailer load (16' X 7' X 4') that needed dumped. When the guys arrived at about 4pm, they arrived with a trailer that was approximately 10' X 6' X 2' which was half full already. I was told it would take 3-4 loads, and was quoted $2195. I was in a time crunch to clear out the home where my mom passed away, and didn't have time to explore other options at that point, so I accepted. After filling the other half of their small trailer, and dumping, they were able to fit in all the rest in one more load. I expect the entire job would have easily fit into one 16X7X4 trailer, but I was charged for 3 full loads. I reached out to Matt after completion to explain that I felt I was taken advantage of, but he just reiterated that I agreed, and offered no explanation for the smaller trailer or higher price. I am satisfied that the job was completed, but it was much more expensive than I was originally led to believe. If I had it to do over again, I would have chosen another junk hauler. read more

I have old furniture and ones that over time people left behind; a very long couch, two old desks, end tables, an upright cabinet, and a chair-back. First time using this company, have only had junk hauled once in my life until now, so I cannot compare on pricing, but the last hauler I had many years ago, rolled the washing machine down the stairs instead of carrying it and said you rent, right? which meant it's okay to ruin the staircase, but it happens I do not rent. Anyway, I could not have had a more congenial service tech than Corey with iHaul Junk who was fast, friendly, professional (and strong), he worked alone and removed my junk quickly. Oh, and he arrived soon after I called, texted me his arrival time, and did not fumble trying to get through the gate to the complex or call me, like most, or drive round and round looking for my condo unit, as the numbers are hidden, an I.Q. test for the driver I've always thought. As I was texting him directions to the unit, he rang the doorbell. He had parked efficiently in front of my condo (usually I am asked where to park), picking a spot that was easy to load into and depart from; as though he'd done it before.
