Our families have been customers of Ihling's for over 30 years. They are knowledgable, honest, reliable, and fair. Examples: My 80+ year old mother contacted Ihling's because her 25+ year old laundry washer stopped working. Rich Ihling said the problem was a simple switch which he ordered and installed for a fraction of the price it would have cost for a new washer. He could have easily said that the washer was too old and then sold her a new one. He didn't. The washer is working great! I updated my kitchen in 2007 and used Ihling's for every appliance. Because they also do repairs, they were able to educate me as to which brands need to be fixed more than others. Almost 20 years later and I am still happy with my choices. Wanted to buy a particular model of a whirlpool dryer that was highly rated, but when I went to the store they only had a different one. Rebecca said the big difference was extra features which I did not care about, but it turns out that the big difference is that the dryer they delivered is not energy star certified. We lost out on a $300 rebate! Not to mention that we always try not to waste energy. I am so upset. I wish I had just purchased the Speed Queen washer since there was also no deduction for buying both together anyway. read more

Ihlings is in Clinton, NJ* repair resource and appliance store - nice people that are fair, honest and dependable... like things should be. Old-school honest advice is in the air. Rich, Heather and Carman are practical and down to Earth. I do my research and go THERE for a final decision. Always prefer to support local businesses. They are my 911 call for a repair and when a replacement is (unfortunately) the answer, their prices are fair and competitive. Ordered a washer (that they didn't have in stock at the Clinton store) on Monday and it will be delivered Friday (could have been sooner - Friday was for MY convenience). I honestly feel scammed by Ihling's Appliances. Rich arrived on time and seemed competent at problem determination. Trouble is that on his way out Rich says: "I don't make my way out here much and I'm glad I don't." Later received phone call with a ridiculously high repair cost. Needless to say, I didn't bite. Later received an exorbitant bill in the mail for "recommended repairs". Sure seems like they just wanted to scam me out of money rather than actually repair my appliances. Later received a second bill for $138.94 for house and service charge. That plus the initial $80.16 trip charge totals $219.10, Ridiculous! read more

They were suppose to come sometime between 8 am and noon (a 4 hour window should have been a red flag). I ended up calling them in the morning and they said they would come sometime after 1 pm. They finally called at 5:30 pm and someone said he was ready to come over and clean my dryer ducts. What a joke. After reading the other reviews it seems this happens a lot. read more

Scheduled them to come a week ahead of time, I took a rare day off to wait for them. They never came. The window was 1-3, they called in the morning to ask for the model number, and confirmed the appointment, but 4pm came and they hadn't even called. I finally called, she said they had no idea where he was, so she called him... said he was running late, and wouldn't be coming. So she asked for the model number, that I gave that morning, and said he'd order a part and fix it another time. At this point, he was guessing at the problem, and guessed wrong, as he didn't have all the information. They didn't seem to be very organized, and didn't have any respect for my time, or concern for our business. I kept hearing good things, so this was incredibly disappointing. I wasted an entire day waiting for them, they couldn't even be bothered to call. I didn't have more time to burn with them, so I called Appliance Master, who came the next day, even called my wife at work to give her enough time to come home, so she didn't have to take a full day off. They are ordering the correct part, and will be repairing it for us. read more

No showed. I'm sure they are nice people but the repairman no showed. I was then charged double the quote. They definitely fixed the appliance but I had to stay home all day for nothing. Sorry to report that I do not recommend. :) read more
