So we have been a customer of Air Proffessionals for almost 10 years.... They installed our current system and maintained it ever since - no complaints there. The issue is a very recent one, our system has a 10 year warranty on parts (we paid extra for) never used previously until quite recently had the need to use it 2 times. 1st was for a new thermostat - and although the stat was covered (free of charge) air Proffessionals charged $225 (+tax) for what was less than a 15 minute job. The second, being a control board on a fan motor again also covered fully for parts, and for this was charged $275 (+tax) for a job that was less than 30minutes - $500 in total for work that took less than 45 minutes (all carried out during normal work hours... not emergency call out) In my view, disappointingly expensive for such straightforward tasks and for a customer with 10 years of connectivity. read more

I called Air Professionals for an annual oil burner service and they completely botched the job, had to come back 5 times, no heat for several days, fire dept had to be called. Still ran fine just time for a cleaning. Tech A appeared to do a good job, cleaned, tuned, but made inaccurate statements on the report. Tech actually told me the basement window needed to stay open so the furnace can get proper air, omg. 11/20/22 - Notice heavy black smoke from chimney. Shut off furance, notice large pile of soot behind furnace, puff back, oily exhaust smell in basement. Called Air Pro and they sent a tech. Tech B arrive and stated hes not equipped to do oil. Waste of time. Tech B inspected and found furnace fully blocked with soot. Tech B left. No heat that day or night into next day. 11/21/22 - Tech C arrived found all sooted up. Tech cleaned out furnace, got running and tuned. Did not find cause. Said window did not need to be open. Had the nerve to charge me. 11/29/22 - I notice more soot behind furnace, puff back. Called Air Pro. Shut off, no heat rest of day, overnight into next day. 11/30/22 - Original Tech A arrived. Confirmed furnace all sooted up. Noticed Tech C set air control significantly less then Tech A did. Tech A cleaned out furnace, got running, tuned up as previously did on 10/18/22. Did not find cause. Again made inaccurate statements in the report. 12/16/22 - Carbon monoxide detectors went off in the house. Shut off furnace and called fire dept. Fire dept confirmed high carbon monoxide levels. Opened windows to air out house. Called Air Pro. No heat that night into next day. 12/17/22 - Tech B arrives, said not equipped to do oil, said furnace looks sooted up. Said since CO alarm keep furnace off. So no heat friday, saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday. 12/19/22 - Called Air Pro, gave the manager the story and how aggravated I was. Said field manager would come with Tech. 12/19/22 - Manager and Tech B arrive. Started furnace, running but readings way out of specs. 2100ppm carbon monoxide. First time I actually saw someone do a combustion analysis, furnace was still as set up by Tech A, readings way off, Tech A clearly didnt do it right as well as Tech B. Talked to both Manager and Tech B, stated unit is over fired, running rich, pump pressure need to be lower etc etc. The unit was not very dirty but they cleaned first then tuned via combustion analyser. I micro managed things. Parameters much better but not quite in spec, 50ppm carbon monoxide, and manager did not want to lower the pump pressure lower then 125psi. Running better but not quite good enough they left. 12/24/22 - I, the home owner, borrowed a pump pressure gauge and combustion analyser. Tested unit and found running good but not quite within spec. Similar readings as Air Pro. I set the pump pressure at 110psi so unit would fire at capacity rate per manual, I adjust the air control more open, all parameters now within spec, carbon monoxide was 2ppm. I also found the flue damper was set to maximum in an attempt to tune the over fired furnace which when the furnace was off did not fully close which in turn caused carbon monoxide from within the furnace to leak out into the home. I adjusted the damper so the furnace ran within spec and also that the damper fully closes when the unit turns off. read more

Richie Buck from Air Professionals came to my house to perform routine maintenance. He was very friendly, courteous and explained everything that he did. I had an additional problem that I asked him to check. He found the problem, assessed it and contacted the main office in order to report the issue and get them to provide me with an estimate and to get back to me to schedule the work to be done. The estimate is fair, just awaiting the call to schedule the work to be done, but I have confidence that it will be in a timely manner. Called and spoke to Brenda at Air Professionals yesterday, my upstairs zone AC was no longer cooling. Had been told by a sub-contractor (American Team in Hatfield) of my home warranty company (American Home Shield) that the evaporator coil was not serviceable because of "an obstruction" and had to be replaced, as well as the TXV (expansion valve) and filter drier. American Team gave me few details other than it was going to cost me $2500 more than what the warranty covered, including "modifications" to refrigerant line, ductwork, vent stack, etc. Sort of like taking your car to a mechanic and being told "you have issues with your brakes, tires, and engine" here's the bill.. But I digress. Brenda told me she couldn't get somebody out that same day (it was already late afternoon), but they'd have somebody there tomorrow (today) between 2 to 6 pm. Right before 4PM I got a call from Kelly, she was on her way. When she arrived she determined that the system was low on refrigerant (it is old, and probably has a slow leak) and said that it in fact could be filled and serviced, and did so promptly and got the AC working again. AS a fyi, my system did not even have a expansion valve, it used a piston. I'm not going to post what AP charged me because I'm not sure they would want to know, but their rate to refill the R22 refrigerant was 46% less than American Team, and their service charge was less than $100. Hats off to Kelly, Brenda, and the rest of the team at Air Professionals. They truly are "professionals" in every sense of the word, and I'm looking forward to their quote to replace my evaporator coil and also to replace the entire system. read more

Air professionals scheduled an appointment with me for pre-season maintenance on my air conditioning. Greg Larose was the technician and went beyond what had to be done. While servicing my outside unit during a strong windstorm, a giant tree branch fell on my lawn, fortunately a short distance from him and the unit!! He informed me of this catastrophe and traced a wire which was pulled down by the tree to my phone line. All the while he kept a safe distance from me following the pandemic guidelines. They did not honor their guarantee. They try to up sell you at every opportunity. They blamed the victim. The story: We had a routine maintenance check in June the technician was on time and professional. He seemed to do his job with ease, while he checked our HVAC unit inside and out. We mentioned the HVAC wasn't as cool as well as it once did. The technician checked the pressure and deduced that our unit was a pound shy of coolant, quoted us a price, and topped it off. After, he claimed he did not have a hose long enough to reach our outdoor unit from the spigot and asked me to do it on my own time -- he was backed up. "No worries," I thought, I like to get my hands dirty. On the way out we gave him a water, it was a hot day, and thanked him for his work. Which, we found later was literally nothing at best, or likely he ruined out entire HVAC. A few days later we receive our invoice, the coolant he added (which cost more than 40 bucks a pound) was missing from the bill. We thought, "Wow, what a great guy!" The issue: A day or two later the unit could not cool the house. We figured the heat wave was too much for the unit. However, later, on a relatively cooler night just 29 days later, my neighbor came knocking on our door. Our unit was dripping on the floor below. It seems the evaporate drain was not working properly (the drain is listed as a checklist on a routine maintenance check item). We call the Air professionals the next day, and they immediately send a technician; though, oddly, it was the same guy. Finding noting wrong, the tech. said "I think you need a new unit. Your coils aren't cool enough. They must be clogged." [That is not a thing] He pushed us to have their sales rep come the next day (since he was conveniently in the area, of course) We told him that we wanted to check into our current unit's warranty since it was only just 10 years old, which he begrudgingly said that he would not include on his write up because his boss would be upset. He then claimed we owed for the visit. We, foolishly, paid. After a few nights in a hotel (the house was unbearable--this was mid heatwave) we got a second and third opinion. Both companies believe they put the wrong gas/coolant in our system, rendering the entire system useless, and costing us thousands to replace. We called the Air Professionals. We had many long conversations and they refused to do anything about our now busted system (Why would they? There is no evidence to prove otherwise. We can't have the gas analyzed, we don't live on the set of CSI). Calling me a liar and claiming no coolant was used. "You must have been mistaken," he declared. They offered to send a technician to check it again to see the trouble... Would you trust them? They did not honor their 90 day guarantee, they would not give us a refund of any sort, and they claimed we were liars. Do not trust this company. If you do, get an invoice BEFORE you pay and follow them around asking questions as they perform the job. Air Professionals = A wolf in sheep's clothing. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We've been a satisfied customer for 13 years until this past week. Our unit wasn't producing much cold air so we called for service. It arrived the next day on May 19 and a part needed replacement. They were to get it and install it the next day. It didn't come in. I called every day since then, sometime two times a day because "the part would be in tomorrow." I even said I'd pay for expedited shipment. It just arrived today, May 26. I had to call them to ascertain if it was in, twice today May 26 before I learned it was in. I expected to have it installed tomorrow, Friday, but they told me they were booked. I said more than once that we have an 80 year who recently had open heart surgery living with us and the heat (90 degrees plus) last weekend was bad for him and that there'll be high heat again the next several days. The reply, "I'll try to get you in for installation on Tue.," 5 days from now!!!!! OUTRAGIOUS. They couldn't care about this health issue. I was surprised. i'm very unhappy with Air Professionals service and lack of help for what could be an emergency situation due to the heat. If our 80 year old dies, we'll sue Air Professionals. We pray that doesn't happen. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH AIR PROFESSIONS AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. read more

I needed to replace my 21-year-old HVAC system. I had five contractors out for estimates, and didn't like any of their answers until I met Scott from Air Professionals. The first point in his favor was a small one: he took his shoes off in my house without being asked. He spent 2.5 hours with us, during which time he did a heat load test, measured our ducts, checked out the old system, and answered all of our questions. Of the five contractors we had out, Scott was the only one who did a load test. Others said we needed anything from a two-ton (based on the old unit) to a 3.5 ton AC unit, without any particular reason for their recommendation. Scott came back and said we needed 2.5 tons. He explained his reasoning, and told us we needed to change existing duct work to handle that capacity. No one else even looked at the existing duct work. The guy who said I needed 3.5 tons didn't tell me I needed to change existing ducts to handle what Scott's load test said was much too much air. Scott was not pushy, and helped us make an intelligent choice. He helped us choose a system that suited our house, not the most expensive stuff Carrier makes. The job was scheduled for the week following the estimate. Air Professionals called to let us know they were on their way, and a four-man crew arrived on time. The guys looked professional, all in blue logo polo shirts, and black pants and shoes. Josh, their lead technician, led the crew: Ken, Jerry, and Moses. Josh is as meticulous and as picky as I am. For example, one of the pads the furnace sat on had a ragged edge facing out. I noticed it, thinking that if it were me, it would bother me, but of course it was no big deal. Josh apparently thought the same thing, because he turned it so that a smooth edge faced out. He is that finicky. All of these guys take pride in their work: Moses, for instance, is an artist with sheet metal, making the pieces he needed on a bench in their truck. The guys laid tarps through the house, cleaned everything up when they left, took their shoes off when they had to walk into carpeted areas, listened to and responded to all of my requests, explained what they were doing, and didn't mind one bit that I sat around watching them work. Finally, I can say without any reservation that their installation is a work of art. Absolutely beautiful. Plumbing and wiring neat and clean, everything tight and as out-of-the-way as possible. I'd delayed replacing my old system because I was afraid of a sub-par installation, and I can say without reservation that I'd hire these guys again in a heartbeat, and recommend them to anyone I meet. I have had only good experiences with Air Professionals starting with the initial sales call through installation and 1st year service. So when my 2nd year service came due I had high expectations and was not disappointed. Doug came to my home, he was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable about his business. Their first visit cost me about $250 and the problem was not fixed. They came back again and charged me nearly $500 more and did the same thing they did on the first visit but better. I complained that it should have been fixed the first time and they said it was my fault because I installed the system myself. As if they can't guarantee their work if someone else installs the system. It shouldn't matter who installed it, they are called in to fix it. It took them two times to do it. I shouldn't have been charged for their first visit. Not happy! read more
