Out server Kevin was extremely attentive and pleasant which was welcomed after our check in experience with Sky the host assistant. She was abrupt and rude after we checked to see where our place was on line. I mentioned that I will be outside on the bench since the lobby was quite crowded. When I saw that several people were leaving i checked again and was told that there were five tables ahead of mine. I went back in as it became cold within 5 min. and was told she called my name twice and I would have to wait another 20 minutes. Are you serious!!!! The food was very good so the experience wasn't ruined. Kevin saved the day!!! Service was fast and the home fries were delicious and I normally don't eat them!!! read more

The service here is good, and the employees are friendly and work hard. The problem is the owner. He refuses to lower the temperature, forcing both customers and employees to sit and work in hot, humid conditions. It's uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. The only explanation I can think of is that he's trying to save money at everyone else's expense. The staff deserves better, and so do the customers. I'd recommend going to a different IHOP instead. read more

Don't bother coming into the I hop in Colonia during this heat wave ! Restaurant is unbearably hot, when I questioned the staff if they could adjust the temperature I was immediately told by the hostess that the owner doesn't allow his staff to control the comfort level in the restaurant. So basically he couldn't care less about the customer and their dining experience. Moreover the poor employees have to work in these unbearable conditions when the mercury is north of 90 plus. Why to go !!! This is my first and last time visiting this ihop. Thank you selfish owner for seeing to it that your customers have a pleasant dining experience. read more

The friendliest IHOP I've ever visited. We were greeted by a host right away. Everything was clean and festive for Christmas. Our server, Nikil, was AWESOME!--Super friendly and attentive. When I asked for extra syrup and sprinkles for my cupcake pancakes, he really came through and I truly appreciated it. The pancakes and breakfast tacos were on point. My husband and I found the vanilla cold brew a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall a good experience and we will be back. read more

I have been to other IHOP restaurants. This one is the worst. We waited 20mins for a table. Another 20mins for the food. My friend ordered the Avocado toast with 2 eggs. The Avocado toast was missing the eggs. I ordered extra cream for.my coffee. Our waiter did not come to check on us, so that we could tell him that we ordered eggs. I got up 3 times to tell them since our waiter was no where to be found. Waited another 20mins just for him to come to our table. By the time he brought the eggs, the toast was cold and my friend couldn't even eat it anymore. No apologies and when I asked for the check, the waiter took less than 5 mins to bring it. Sadly this is the worst Ihop I have ever been to. Service is horrible, no one wants to work. They take forever to come and take your order. Half the time the order is incorrect, don't dare to send it back for fear you'll never get your food or worse, music playing so loud you think your at a night club, they never come back to make sure you're satisfied with your order, or to see if anything else is needed. Forget about waiting for your bill so you could end the horrible experience. The "servers are all too busy on their cell phones " I have given this establishment several chances to get it together, no more, will not be going back. They all need some serious training, from management to servers. I will go back to the little cramped Ihop in Edison instead, they are prompt and know how to take care of their customers, and the food is always excellent. read more

First time at this venue since Perkins went under. Figured it was Sunday we had no plans let's give it a try. We got seated right away - this could be a good thing or a bad one. The booth we sat in had a nice tear on the seat - I thought this place just opened. The server was prompt and the food came out at a reasonable time. Bacon and ham were on the burned side not just over cooked and the eggs were ok. We get the bill and walk up to pay at a register. Rude person named Karen at the register did not even acknowledge us standing there with bill and card in hand to pay. Turns out your server has to check you out. Karen was busy just standing there luckily our server was nearby and checked us out. My recommendation - bypass this place head to Nora's in Avenel where the people are awesome and the food is always fresh. read more

I've come here a few times since it opened up, but tonight it was poor. I went there to for the happy hour specials they advertised on tv. The waitress was rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I asked for the happy hour menu and was told they don't do it. I ended up leaving to go to another ihop instead. read more

This ihop sucked. It took forever just to have them deliver the wrong food. I do think our waitress, Elsa, was new so I wanted to cut her some slack. But it took so long to even get our drinks let alone our food. And once it came out we were too annoyed to send the wrong items back since we knew it'd be another half hour at least. No butter for the toast, hashbrowns missing from both orders, and I got pancakes instead of French toast. She didn't even offer a box for the leftovers at the end. The food is good, ambiance is good, waitresses/waiters are great.. The managing is the issue! You can tell that the owner and managers could care less about their servers. I ordered a short stack with some sides and my waitress saved me some money, to which i thanked her. her manager proceeded to scold her in front of me for it. Was excited about having an IHOP here in my town. Food wasn't good at all. Even my 10yr old said we should go to the other location we normally visit. Lady sitting across from us told waiter "food was disappointing ". Meanwhile another gentlemen leaving yelled out to everyone to "check your bill this place ads on stuff they shouldn't and overcharge you"! As I ask for my check I'm told they are unable to print it because wifi is down so I sat waiting for 15 minutes. Awful experience. Won't be returning. read more

Not my best experience. Hash browns were so dry and tough, felt like i was chewing on toothpicks. Omelette was below average... Service was alright... Waiter wasn't attentive and barely around. The atmosphere was not it. Only person actually on the floor and not bullshitting in the kitchen was the hostess. would not recommend this IHOP. read more

I went there last week. We were greeted by the hostess, as soon as we walked in. My mother is 91, and with a walker. She sat us at the closest table to the door. I cannot tell you how many restaurants we have gone in, and they, try, to get us sit at the end of the place. P.S. It hasnt happened yet. She had common sense, which is lacking today. We were promptly taken care of, and the food was good. My only complaint, and it really wasnt that big of a deal, it took me awhile to get the check. But that being said, my experience was wonderful, and we will return. And as a side note, they just opened. A new place is always PACKED, and again, it is NEW. The owners, the managers, and the staff, are still learning. Give them a month, by then, everyone, will know where, everything is. I love when people go somewhere, and have a bad experience, and wont give it another try. Sometimes place have off nights, things go wrong, things happen. That is the problem with this country to day, 1 bad experience, in a new place, and they are not coming back, and are BASHING you on the internet. You have any idea, the money it cost to start that business up? Trust me, it would choke a horse. Lets try to support this small business owner. About 4 waitresses stood about 8 feet from us glued to their phones for about 13 minutes ignoring us until i asked if anyone was interested in taking our order. No one followed up after the food was delivered aside to drop of the bill. Shocker another table left without paying the bill - probably became tired of waiting. My office frequented this as Perkins but now as I-hop we will never return, we felt very unwelcome. After looking at the other reviews this place won't last. read more

This review is for the one on Saint Georges Ave. Let me start off by saying there is never a wait like the one in Edison. Also the staff is very pleasant and happy.
