Phillippo's has been our go-to pizza place since we moved to the area 4 years ago. They make excellent pizza, 6ft heros and wings. I am not a fan of their chicken franchise. We placed an online order in Wed 2/4/26 @430 pm. We ordered a cheese pie a wrap and fries. Simple order.. At 540 my order was still not delivered. I called phillipos to ask where our order was after being told it would be about 1/2 hour. The girl who answers had no idea where my order was and put me on hold. She came back and said they were working on it. I asked if this is Normal service she said no but after seeing other reviews it looks like it's pretty normal. Our pizza finally arrived and it was warm at best as if it sat for a while. We live in town and will most likely never order from here again. Consistently good pizza and fast delivery! I also love their Mediterranean Salad and if I had to recommend a pie some may be hesitant to try, it would be their BBQ Chicken or plain topped with pineapple! I have lived in New Jersey for over ten years now, having migrated over from New York City where you can't throw a stick without hitting a pizza place. As most New Yorkers do I have my favorite places in the city and over decades I have developed very specific expectations of pizza both in terms of texture and flavor. However NJ has, sadly, more often than not disappointed me (at least in the Union county area). That said, hope springs eternal, and one day while checking out a small shopping center in Clark I stumbled across Phillippo's. I needed a bite to eat so I headed inside. Phillippo's looks like a pizza shop that has been in the same space for quite some time, but they have taken care to renovate it and keep it up to date. This was most evident by their display boards. Instead of old boards with missing letters and numbers, these were LCD screens showing various pizzas and menu items along with prices. Behind the glass the staff was bringing out pie after pie and they were flying out the door. I believe in any food-based business if you see high turn over of the product it's a good sign. I ordered two slices: buffalo chicken and mushroom. The buffalo chicken is hardly traditional, but I have noticed more and more pizza shops have them and I do like them. This one was really good. First, the crust to slice ratio was perfect. Not a ton of crust at the edge, just enough. The chicken had a kick to it and there were generous helpings of ranch dressing on top. The mushroom slice (my favorite type of slice in general) was fantastic. It had just come out of the oven so I gave it a few minutes before eating it and the texture, flavor and quantity of mushrooms was perfect. The staff was very quick, efficient and friendly. Also kudos for having a nice, clean rest room in the back for customers. I would happily go back to Phillippo's any time! read more

We are on a mission to find the best Margarita, Grandma, & Grandpa Pizza in North Jersey! We gave Phillipo's Pizza, Clark, NJ a try. We ordered Margarita and Sicilian pies. Up first the Margarita: this was a very good margarita pie, sauce was very fresh, not too much fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and the dough was cooked very well. The only negative was that the dough was a little dry, it didn't have that fresh taste. Overall, a very good pie and we would try this again to see if they had an "öff night" with the dough. The surprise of the night was the Sicilian. Upon opening the box, what did we find? A GRANDPA PIZZA! Yes, without even asking they automatically make a grandpa style (upside down pizza) as their Scillian! The mozzarella is melted perfectly, the fresh sauce on top, drizzled with parmesan, seasoning, and garlic. A very fresh taste and, unfortunately, one down side... the dough. This, too, had a dry taste where its very close to being crispy but misses the mark. It is very hard to not give this 5 stars alone based on the surprise we received and the overall taste. Once again, we will have to try this again. Awesome job, Phillipos! Onto the next pizzeria, we are trying one every Friday night. What else is there to do during this pandemic? Hi will update this review when we try the food but our first interaction of ordering from here was not well received. We were trying to place a pickup order and gave our phone number to the lady. Then she passed us off to someone else and we had decided to change the phone number the order would be under so the person picking up the order would use their number instead. Immediately after we changed the phone number we got a "have a good night" and we were hung up on. I understand that it may have been perceived that we were maybe pranking them? However we truly just realized a different phone number should be used. Instead of asking for clarification they just hung up. If I could give this place 0 or negative stars I would. The cashier forgot my chicken in my pasta dish - which took over 45 mins to be ready. Like she didn't have the decency to ask her staff to help expedite the order. I got home, my dish was missing the chicken. I called back and the cashier blew me off and put me on hold and didn't tell me. I hung up and called back (same phone) - no one picked up. I borrowed my sisters phone to call and she picked up, coincidence? She said, "sorry had to verify your order. You can come back and give me your food and your order will be ready in 15min." Never have I order from somewhere and when they messed up my order, they wanted it back. Super insanitary like we are in covid times, what is this place doing? The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because if customer service, I placed an order around 7p yesterday. Being that it was a holiday weekend I figured it would take about an hour to get food not a big deal. It's 830p and no food, I decide to call, the person on the phone tells me they don't have my order and asks me how did I place it. I told the gentleman I place the order online, he tells me to hold on, 5 mins later he comes back on. Tells me there was a problem with the system that the ticket did not print, then asks me if I still want my order that he will make it, I have to hungry children so I said yes because my kids like there pizza. I was introduced to Phillippo's back when I worked in Rahway. The guys I worked with always ordered there own personal pies from here. One day, I decided to order a personal pie to see what the big deal was. One of my co-workers suggested the chicken cutlet pizza, which consists of french fries, chicken cutlet, and honey mustard. When I took my first bite, I was drifted to a place called heaven. It is so delicious. It has a sweet and spicy taste to it thanks to the honey mustard. A personal pie is large enough for two...I'm usually left with 3 slices. They also deliver and there service is pretty good. I would highly recommend the chicken cutlet to those who haven't tired it. read more

As I sit here waiting for my pizza and cheesesteaks I write this...... The place is supposed to open at noon on Sunday's. I waited until exactly noon and started calling for delivery. No answer. No answer. No answer. For over 15 min. I figure I'll take a ride over bc I had been in there earlier in the week and didn't see a sign that said they would be closed on the weekend. I decide to take the drive over. Yep they are open but chairs still up and no ovens on. Girl says with a smile oh sorry we just got here. The place opens at noon!!! 1st stop picked up an eggplant parm sandwich Very tasty, roll soft as opposed to crunchy, easy to eat, only thing was it barely had any sauce(& I asked for extra which they forgot to include). Would consider getting it again if there is more sauce. 2nd time picked up a 1/2 pepperoni thin crust. Because of above asked for extra sauce. Plenty of cheese which "swam" so fresh, crust done perfectly but two problems: (1) the sauce was a normal amount so those of you who dont like light/dry ask for extra) was virtually tasteless. I was concerned when I looked & saw a lot of orange color(usually means lots of oil which I dont mind but not at the cost of taste). Saw no herbs had to put my own garlic powder, oregano & red pepper flakes to give it some sort of taste. (2) the crust was thick near the end & was "cracking" which usually means dry/old. Not to sound stereotypical but the cook wasnt Italian & every one else was a teenager so not authentic. If I just want to pick up a sandwich I may try them again but nothing else.
