There was only one server working when we got there but she was great. She was hustling to take care of everything. Later, during our meal, another server arrived and was excellent also. The food was really good and the restaurant was clean. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the internet was down, so it was cash only, and the menu didn't sync with what they actually had. The server explained they had just gotten new menus from Texas. I've been there several times when they were out of things listed on the menu. I can't fault the wait staff with any of these issues because these things were beyond their control. I believe this location is in an excellent place, right off the interstate, but they are always understaffed and the servers working deserve to have better backup from corporate and management because it seems like there are always issues that undermine them. All in all, it was a good experience, so give them a try and treat the wait staff with appreciation for all they go through to get you a good meal! read more

No one waited on us for 30 minutes. Had to go to the gas station to get someone to wait on us. Then we sat down and waited another 20 mintues to order. In the kindest way possible, my waitress did not listen to my order, I asked for scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes just a single pancake. My waitress asked me how I wanted my eggs cooked and as a college student in culinary arts I know you can make a scrambled egg creamy, rubbery, or on the softer side. So I said not runny but soft and we agreed on a medium easy, I waited with my partner for about 20 or longer minutes, I know it was low staff so I wasn't gonna complain on wait time, but when I got my egg, it was a over medium egg also known as a flipped sunny side up egg, it was also crusty which in culinary arts, you never serve eggs that have crust on the edges. My chocolate chip pancake was not soft and was tough, and my butter knife was not able to cut it, I had to use a spoon. I also finished my strawberry lemonade and I thought the waitress would ask me if I would like a refill, she did not and my partner deliberately had to ask for a refill for us both. My other experiences with ihop were great, the food was always delicious, and plated appealing. But when I wanted my first option which was a chocolate chip pancake with strawberries on top and whip cream also known as (jr protein pancake) I was declined, due to my age. I find that discriminating as why can't I get strawberries on my chocolate chip pancake but 12 and under can? I wasn't even asked my age, my waitress looked at me and said that she isn't allowed to. I feel disrespected because as a culinary arts person myself the customer has a right to whatever is on the menu, anywhere else an adult can order from a kids menu. Now I'm not trying to be rude as it's my favorite breakfast restaurant, but to one decline the customer of their order and two make the food tough and unappealing (the egg) I was not happy but I chose to write an review instead of asking for a correct scrambled egg as I did not want to make their life harder since only one person was working today at 5 o clock. read more

Excellent food. Service was good. Bathrooms were dirty. Would recommend this IHOP if you can live with the dirty bathrooms.

Worst IHOP I've been to. Took about 40 minutes for our food and then everything was cold. It was also freezing at our table and the table behind us actually moved to a new table so the air wouldn't be hitting them. The service was good although short staffed. The waitress was rewarded for her efforts. I got the eggs Benedict meal and the sauce was thin and flavorless like right out of a can. Went for dinner on 8/7/2023 had to wait almost 10 minutes to be sat. ( there was only 4 other tables when we arrived) Once we was sat it was another 8-10 minutes and we still hadn't been waited on. So the older woman that sat us said well I guess I will wait on you. She was super nice but the other two girls waiting tables just wanted to stand around and be mad that they was told to do something. The food was good but unless they step up the service this I hop is gonna fail. You need to have wait staff they cares about the Resturant and it's customers. Not cussing because you was asked to wait on a table or to clean. You are there to make money so please act like you care. Management,corporate needs to step in and take control before it's to late. I know it's Weston and I know it is WV, but does that mean it is alright to have a hostess at a family restaurant greet families with a bored sneer, chomping gum, and sporting menthols in overly-tight jeans? I could even overlook her if the food was good but it's substandard to other IHOPs. Only redeeming thing is their staff of waitresses, who are always kind and respectful. I understand everyone is short staffed in these days, but when you go into a restaurant and sit for 10-15 minutes and not one person comes to your table and asks for a drink order... THERE'S A PROBLEM! This is not the first time this has happened to us, as we try to support our local restaurants And not travel to Clarksburg, but this establishment is a one star on friendliness, 2-3 star at best on food, and if you could give it a ‐1 or less I sure would on service!
