Stopped for lunch on our way from Orlando to Clearwater. Kids wanted pancakes & we had gift cards. ( 2 adults / 3 kids) 2 stars: The young girl that waited on us was super sweet, patient & friendly. We were seated quickly & didn't have to wait long to order or receive our food. -1 star. The inside could have used a good cleaning & was extremely dated. Hubby and I stopped here, not busy so we thought good it will be quick. We were seated quickly and the wait person was at our table in a timely manner. It was breakfast time and the food came fast. We were offered coffee refills and declined. The wait person was efficient and all went well until cashing out. Our change was to be $14.45. After given the $14 was asked if I wanted the 45 cents, mind you I left close to a 25% tip. Is this something being done in the industry because they don't get paid enough? This IHop is usually very pleasant when you have server name Christina. But today Sunday 2/22/26, it was horrible. First we get seated by one of the waitress and was told " I am not your server , I am just helping.' She bought us coffee and then we sat there for 15 minutes with no one coming to us. We asked if we can order and the other waitress yell "we are very busy todat" and continue ignoring us. For another 10 mins. Finally a waitress came, again telling us she was not our server, just helping took our order. Another 10 mins later our order came. I understand IHOP is a corporate chain restaurant... but it is also a somewhat reasonable and respectable long standing leader in the breakfast industry. Each locations experience will depend on the location and management in place. Here at this location, the people who work here are good people and they work hard and well in a high stress, fast moving, environment. But I just learned something very disappointing. I learned that IHOP does not use fresh eggs in many of their egg dishes. Instead of you order scrambled eggs or an omelet, they will serve you a bagged liquid egg substitute, most people call this "fake eggs"; while technically they contain some real egg whites, these are NOT EGGS. They are heavily processed and contain many additives. The texture is awful and they taste nothing like eggs. Put it this way... if it costs less then real eggs but contains some egg white, your not getting an egg. I also learned that if you order a dish with eggs, say an egg, bacon, hash brown breakfast and you choose over-easy you get real eggs. If you want scrambled eggs you get fake eggs, and if you ask for real eggs instead they charge an up charge of a couple dollars more per egg. Now that makes no sense, because you are already paying for real eggs if fried, over-easy, poached, or sunny side up is already included in the price. So I am writing this review to inform others of the "fake eggs", not to knock the staff or anything else. I have always been happy with my meal at this specific location. Well, until I ordered the scrambled eggs. I will not make that mistake again. Had this restaurant served real scrambled eggs like its competitors (Waffle House, Bob Evan's, Cracker Barrel), I would have scored a 4 star review. the food was terrible, we came at 1:40am and we were missing half of our order. the service was ass, the server had her hair down as if that isnt a food safety hazard. They sat everyone right next to eachother I couldn't even talk to my own table without hearing the next table talk about classes and the things they do on their own timing. Stopped in late on a road trip, as it was something different on the way and near the highway. It's situated next to a hotel that is questionable for sure. Megan our waitress was friendly and adored our baby. She has some experience with other family members in the industry as noted when we questioned the bill below. We ordered 4 waters, kids side, jr. chicken strips, HF scramble, HF ham and cheese omelette and a waffle. Everything was about expected for an IHOP taste wise. Upon getting the receipt there was a $10.29 charge for the waffle. Upon asking we were told that's the price for 1 waffle and given some prices for Waffle House and Denny's. We could've ordered a whole other special meal for that price. Upon leaving went to use the facilities and they are lacking with upkeep throughout the building. read more

I did not read my menu description but my pancakes had non fresh strawberries and red syrup all over them , I asked for a new plate . The whole reason we went was for him to get birthday pancakes? I usually go to this ihop location since it's so close to my home but service has definitely went down as of late. I brought my niece and nephew recently and we were seated fairly quickly but the table wasn't wiped down and neither was the high chair.... Absolutely disgusting... I understand some people don't take Covid seriously in the state of Florida but as an establishment.. you should be wiping everything down regardless of Covid. There were only 2 waitresses serving a lot of people. I ordered spicy poblano but they cooked a steak instead, however, they gave the steak for free. Due to the demand all customers coming at the same time they made a mistake. However, I was truly surprise both entree were sumptuous both gravy suited well with mashed potatoes, the steak was tender and juicy. Spicy Poblano is not as spicy the salsa was great condiment. A lot of places to sit down and eat at in this area and this establishment did not do a great job of convincing me to come back. The food was alright but the ordering process was not the best. I tried to order the Bug Brunch with chicken and the waitress refused and insisted it only came as a burger. The menu and the website both list the "choose a protein" option. I asked to see the "Breakfeast" menu their special at the time and she brought over the extra menu. My friend and I both ordered our eggs over hard but they came out over medium. I still loved my meal and I understand that it wasn't entirely anyone's fault but I didn't appreciate being argued at when the menu clearly stated that I could order a meal a certain way. I love IHOP's food usually however this location tends to get my order wrong. They have forgotten the bananas inside my pancakes on two separate occasions. Even after speaking to a manager about it the first time a few weeks later it happened again. If I am going to pay for strawberry banana pancakes I want it to come with the bananas inside the pancake. Typically my experience at this iHOP is a hit or miss. Not recommended if you have any special requests. (Like crispy bacon or eggs scrambled hard & dry). We stopped on our way to the Outback Bowl game. The dining room wasn't busy when we arrived. It was cold inside, but that's expected due to the high humidity this morning. Being New Year's Day, we expected to see or have some impact of last nights celebration during service. Our server seemed cool & calm when taking the order for 2 with no note pad. But it was clear she was hung over. She was just a bit too relaxed with her eyes half closed, but her speech didn't seem slurred. Turned out she didn't remember both orders, just one. She came back asking for the 2nd order to be repeated & mumbled some excuses for why she failed to recall the order. The meal arrives & my choc. choc chip pancakes are being remade. They were the loud crash heard in the kitchen, just seconds before the meal was brought to the table. The 2nd server who brought the meals was a lot more in tuned with what a server should be tending to & that was great. I ordered a split decision - eggs scrambled hard & dry, all crispy bacon, choc. choc chip pancakes, no whip. The kitchen failed on the bacon & eggs. I sent the eggs back, since I would be hungry at the game if I don't eat them. They came out slightly warmed more, but just as wet. The bacon was also sent back since it was flimsy & still fatty. The pancakes for the other order were 'old' & clearly not fresh, since the butter was not melting. The 2nd server was great at helping correct the negative things on the order & I wish I had got her name. She's a tall, a little older, slender woman who's very polite when speaking to you. She took one meal off our ticket for our trouble, but frankly - I would have preferred to have had a great meal that I was able to eat while stopped. This is the absolute worse place you can go to. I waited for a table, and at least 8-10 others behind me. There were plenty of tables open, but sign said wait to be seated. No one even looked up. When someone finally came up I said table for one I asked for the worst table, so not to be taking a good table, it's the one seated bench table by the kitchen( I wrote that so you know I was in the place) the so called waitress took menus threw them down on the table and walked away. I will not seat in a restaurant where the help is not polite. There was no call for this. I could care less about the food. I walked out. If you treat your customers this way you will soon have none. I had the worst customer service at this IHOP after waiting 30 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order she didn't even acknowledged us. she started taking the order for another table that came after us. If it isn't because I got up and asked when our waitress will be taken our drink order at least, is when she decided to come to our table. Once we got our drink and our food, the waitress didn't even came to see if we needed anything or to refill our drinks. Not even when we got up to pay since she didn't even brought our ticket to the table. BEWARE! I didn't check reviews till I was in the parking lot and was starved and thought this is a chain how bad can it be. IT WAS BAD the cook was yelling the whole time complaining. They were "out" of multiple things, my daughters chicken strips were over cooked and they gave her less than a handful of fries.
