Portillo's is a great fast casual restaurant with something for everyone. They have a great menu with some great choices such as their Hot beef sandwich or their Sausage sandwich they also sell the regulars such as burgers and fries, chicken tenders and hotdogs. They also have great desserts like their CAKE Milkshake's that they make with a whole slice of their famous chocolate cake. Right now you can also get their delicious lemon cake (it's seasonal) The employees are really friendly and very helpful. I still love Portillo's. We were close by at Bass Pro Shops and wanted a milkshake. I remembered they had great ones here, and also that they put a free sandwich coupon on my acct. I came in and used their kiosk and scanned the Portillos's card which is on my phone. It's so easy and never used it before. I was able to get a regular Italian beef sandwich for free, & order a large strawberry shake. Both were soooo good. I waited at the next counter to get my food. Everyone was so nice and while I hung out there, at least three to four people asked if I needed anything. They didn't ignore me at all. Just smiled and asked if there was anything they could do to assist. That was def excellent customer service. I brought my Italian beef sandwich to the Xmas parade in Sarasota at UTC mall and I thought it was funny that at least 3 different people asked where I got the Portillo's from and if there was one in the area. Customer service and store weren't helpful. I logged into the website with a survey code, a message displayed, "too much time has elapsed". Today is day 7 and both places argued it expires on day 7, the receipt states "within 7 days" which would be until midnight today. Receipt is dated 9/6 and today is 9/13, so I should have until 11:59 on 9/13. So at last I'm told, "its through a third party so nothing can be done about this issue." Ordered three (3) Italian sausage sandwiches and three out of the four (4) was overcooked. They tasted old as if they were prepared earlier and reheated. We went around 1115am and we probably got what they had left over from the previous day. It looks like they attempted to cover it up by overloading them with the onions and peppers. I usually love my experiences here but today was very unacceptable. And this is twice I've experienced a problem eating at this location so as of today this will be my last time dining here. Came in for dinner with the family. It was about an hour before closing. The inside wasn't too busy and it was pretty clean. They have kiosk to order at now which was nice because you can put your number in for rewards and also set your own modifications to your food as desired. After we ordered our food, we waited not very long though probably 10 minutes at the most. When the order was ready, they had our drink cups in our food all on the trays. First time visiting, and I'm already excited to come again. Came for a friend meetup, and glad to report all of us (5) absolutely loved it. The interior was so much fun! Loved the decorations and the vibe the place is set up with. It's a very retro all-american style; can't ask for a better setting to enjoy hotdogs! The crew was very friendly too--they were fast with clean-up, kept the place tidy, suggested good spots for us to sit, and gave recommendations to my friends for tourist spots around the area. Although, the reason they had to suggest us sitting spots was because there was water dripping at two corners in the area we were sitting. I ordered the two hot dog meal and swapped the fries for onion rings. For the hot dogs, everything on, one with extra grilled onion. They were absolutely delicious. I wasn't expecting the amount of toppings, even a bit unsure when I first saw them, but everything was delicious. Two hot dogs were quite a good amount of food for me, but the whole munching experience with the flavors was impeccable. I loved the grilled onion too, but I have to say it made the hot dog and bun a bit too soggy and messy. I'm not a pickle fan, but it is nice each hot dog comes with a big wedge of pickle and a picked pepper. Onion rings are always a favorite, and the best thing about the onion rings here was they never got soft or soggy. Even after a good while--maybe an hour while we chatted--the onion rings had chilled down a bit but were still crunchy. Makes a great crispy noise with a bite kind of crunchy. My meal was very fulfilling. I didn't try other items yet, but based on the reviews from my friends, the burger is amazing and the chicken sandwich was so juicy and nice. They were only visiting florida for a week, but also mentioned wanting to visit again if they have the chance. If anything, I would say we were a little confused at the pickup counter. We were expecting dine-ins to be served on a tray and not still in the brown bag. I suggest making sure to hang around the counter and pay attention to the calling numbers. I signed up for the member program after seeing the free fries promo--I thought my table could share it. I was not able to redeem it for my order at the kiosk. I have wanted to try this place for a long time. We were on our way back to Lakeland from Brandon and stopped here and went to the drive thru. A nice worker helped us place our order and told us about some of the menu items. We decided to get the two hot dog, fries and a drink and another hot dog as there was three of us. There are two pick up windows when you drive around the building, go to the second one if it is open. Food is made to order so be prepared to wait. Upon walking in, you will clearly see theming on the walls representing mid 1900s Chicago. The restaurant appeared clean and organized with clearly labeled "grab and go, order here and pickup" areas. I placed my order online before arriving and it gave me a 10 minute estimate. The estimate was accurate. Once I grabbed my food, I was able to seat myself at a booth. They also offer table and high top seats. We ordered the regular beef sandwich with hot peppers and the regular hot dog. Both were very satisfying. They offer a larger size of each for not much more, but I feel that the regular size is an appropriate serving for one person. We also got large fries for free for signing up for their loyalty program. The fries are crinkle cut seasoned with salt. I really enjoyed those also. This looks like every other Portillo's from here to Chicago. There is merch to buy along with your food. The difference with this Portillo's is that after you pay a premium for a "fast food" burger your food comes out cold. Not all food just the burgers. Your fries will be hot and so will the onion rings. Both delicious though. Now on to the burger. The burger has great flavored just not hot. The cheese wasn't melted at all. They replaced the burger, but then gave me an undercooked burger, and the manager is the one that took the burgers back originally, and she seemed to be annoyed that we have anything to say to her. Ordered the Italian Beef sandwich with oven-roasted sweet peppers and hot giardiniera peppers, also got the dipping sauce. I did like that combination with my sandwich. I also ordered fries and a drink. Sadly, my fries were cold and that was disappointing. The dining area was very clean, and the staff were very friendly as well as the bathroom. Our chopped salad was pretty good! Same for the Chicago dog, but the chocolate cake slice and cake shake were less good than expected, and ironically the cake shake was better after getting to the bottom with barely any cake pieces! I'm a Chicagoan so this place is near and dear to my heart. The food is delicious. Sometimes the line takes a little bit but it's worth it.

The ambiance is wonderful. It's a large restaurant with tall ceilings and lots of fun old Chicago vibes. The cheeseburger was delicious and the bacon was perfection (super crispy and fresh)!! I also got the onion rings which were also very yummy, crispy and flavorful! The fries with cheese were crispy on the outside and perfectly creamy in the inside and the cheese was the icing on the cake. Speaking of cake, we got a slice of lemon cake and a Lemon Cake Shake to go.. and they were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! I'm a baker and the cake reminded me of my own cakes, moist, flavorful and not over the top in sweetness. The shake was THE BEST I've ever had! Chunks of cake in every sip! I wanted to relay and excellent customer service experience I had at the Brandon location. I've ordered take-out a few times and thought it'd be nice to do for the 4th of July. However, on the way to the store, the Asst. General Manager called and apologized. Somehow the online ordering system took an order when the restaurant was closed early for the holiday. Not only did he refund our order, I was offered a gift card for the value of the meal to use at another time. I was still in the mood and went back tonight. Another manager was on duty and took care of the order, covering the overage as we sat down to eat and ordered a few fountain drinks. The thing about the real Portillo's is that no matter where you go, the theme follows, the only thing missing here are the patrons.
