Their recommended tip includes the sales tax in their calculation. Tip on taxes? I don't think so! Additionally, they add a 4% sur-charge for using a credit card ... at a restaurant! Wish I'd noticed that before tipping. Ended up tipping 30% due to the oversight. Burger was OK, as was the Margarita ... which you pour yourself from a decanter. Portion was good as was the flavor.

5 Star service, 4 star food! Kim and Kirsten took such good care of us. Constantly checking on us and making sure we had it all. Super appreciated. Always cleaned up our table. Filled our waters. Got the popper burger cuz it was Kim's favorite. Awesome recommendation! Really good. The Shroom burger is just ok. The pretzel was just ok. Fries are yum. Sitting outside is nice. I appreciate that each place has a candle.

Stopped here while attending the Lakeland Saturday market. Seated right away. Servers were good. All helped to refill drinks. We got several different burgers and they were good. I got the popper and the cream cheese popper sauce was very good. We also had a blue suede which was good. Super tall with the onion rings. Also had a bandito. Be prepared to shower afterwards as that one is messy. All the burgers were good size and tasty. Fries were average. Inside is fun with lots of memorabilia on the walls. They have a pool table and plenty of room for groups. Worth a try while in Lakeland.

My husband and I love a good burger and we found a GREAT burger here! You can chose your burger temperature which a lot of places have taken away- The service was fantastic. The music and style of the restaurant was super fun. There are a TON of food choices here so stop by and check the Chop Shop out!

Chop shop was around the corner from the hotel where I was staying. I was the only person inside when I stopped in for lunch. Jamie my waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the shroom burger and added bacon. I like that they cook the burger to your temp preference. I ordered it medium well and it was cooked perfectly. The burger was juicy and full of flavor. The burgers are served with a side of fries that are seasoned with salt & pepper. I will definitely be back.

Well, we wanted to like this place as it came recommended by a local but when you find a hair in your burger it makes it really difficult. To add insult to injury when Ben showed the waitress, she took the hair with her and asked if we needed anything else (this was also after us not getting the milkshake we ordered) and proceeded to bring us the full bill with the hair infused burger included. No offer to speak to a manager, no reduction of the price and neither of us were done eating yet... well until the hair was found.

The chop shop is solid. It's not the worlds best burger but it hits the spot. The bubba (the bacon cheese burger) is a good fallback but I have been getting the B.A.D. Burger (Breakfast All Day Burger) Bacon, ham, egg, and queso. It can be a ton of food but I feel like they have finally found the right amount of meats. The fries are always hot and perfectly seasoned. I would not get the sweet potato "tots" they're basically just chucks of sweet potato. They're still good but don't be fooled by the tots label.

We did not have to wait to sit down on a Sunday. They have a pretty good menu for burgers with a lot of different options. They also have quite a few shake options that will fit just about anyone. The chocolate strawberry shake was delicious. We tried the BAD (Breakfast all day) burger and it was cooked perfectly. The bacon each cheese fries were very good as well. I highly recommend starting with that. I was not impressed with the chicken taco salad. The chicken was cut too large and the lettuce was not shredded so it was hard to eat. However, the mexi ranch was delicious. I would definitely go back for the burgers. The service was quite slow once we sat down but the did have a sign up that they were looking for cooks.

This place showed in a quick search for a good burger. Took a look and read some reviews and decided to stop. First off it is in downtown Lakeland. A really nice part of the town with some really good sounding restaurants. As we drove down Kentucky we were looking for a hanging sign for CHop Shop but didn't see one. It was on their patio walls and windows. The top of their building had a gym name painted on it if that helps anyone else find them. They are worth the search ! It was mid day on Sunday so not too crowded. Grab a menu, take a seat as you figure out what you want then go to the counter and order. Take a seat with your number and wait for the food. Fast casual. We were starving so it was hard to choose and we ordered too much. We started with fried pickles. They were lightly bread. Just right and tasty! Deb got the Rebel dog special with Chili. Really great flavors. I am not to into have pulled pork on my dogs but the posrk was very flavorful and 2 of these with a bowl of chili was substantial! I ordered the bubba but I think I got the rebel as there was pulled pork on my burger as well. Not too big of a deal as I was looking at both. It was cooked perfectly! So many great flavors and the grilled burger was delicious. As with the dogs I am not a big fan of pulled pork on to of other things but this was good. Overall a really good burger! The place itself is sports oriented but also had TVs showing some old black and white movies. Pretty cool. Relaxed and laid back with great food and great service.

I'm keeping this short and sweet because this was my first visit, I didn't stay long, but I got exactly what I expected out of The Chop Shop. Bullet points: - Convenient location on Kentucky Ave in downtown Lakeland - Affordable - both drinks and food - Good craft beer and liquor (not the largest liquor selection, but if you're not picky you'll be happy) - Plenty of TVs - Salads are enormous and are sitting on top of shredded lettuce - this means a lot to me because I hate trying to chomp through giant pieces of lettuce when I order a salad - Very friendly staff Only opportunity here is time. It took a while for food to come out but it was worth the wait. I'd try a burger here next time because everything smelled really delicious. Great place to grab a bite in Lakeland.

The vibe is awesome with brick walls, tasteful decor, and pleasant music, and just what I look for in a local coffee shop. Prices are fairly reasonable with many drink and food options. Although there was a bit of line when I visited, it moved quickly and staff was efficient in getting ordered items out to guests. I went with a white mocha frappe (5/5), asking for it to be made less sweet. It's not something I ordinarily see on the menu at local coffee shops, so was delighted at how good it was, with just the right amount of sweetness to it. It's shame that there's nothing like it at coffee shops close to where I live, as it's something that'd be in my regular rotation of caffeinated drinks I'd order. As my friends and I enjoyed our experience here, I'd definitely return to Black & Brew, and would recommend them to others looking for a quality coffee shop in Lakeland.

The standout for me was the Holiday Ham breakfast sandwich, and it absolutely lived up to its name. Built on a flaky buttermilk biscuit, it layers a light, fluffy egg soufflé with thinly sliced ham, praline bacon that adds just the right touch of sweetness, and a cranberry orange jam that ties everything together with a bright, unexpected pop. Every bite tasted thoughtful and seasonal without being overcomplicated--comfort food elevated. I paired it with Jennie's Dolce seasonal espresso drink, and it was so good I immediately wanted another. Even more impressive? The second one tasted just as perfect as the first--a small detail that says a lot about their consistency and care behind the bar. The coffee shop ambience immediately stands out, with a relaxed yet polished vibe that makes it just as ideal for a casual morning as it is for catching up on work or meeting friends. Service was warm and efficient, and you can tell this place has become a staple in the downtown community. If you appreciate creative twists on classic breakfast favorites and expertly crafted coffee drinks, Black & Brew is well worth the stop. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Our server described the dishes perfectly. I tried the Beef Wellington and loved it. I was not crazy about the mashed potatoes I felt like they lacked flavor but the Beef Wellington was the star. The menu is french inspired but portions are over the top even by american standards. The cordon blue must have used two chicken breasts as it was easily 10" long and at least 3" across. Honestly, it's enough for dinner, lunch, and dinner again the next day and that's coming from a guy. The cooking was well prepared, chicken and fish were cooked to the correct doneness, but there's a few places for improvement. Too many things were overly salty and the chef seems to favor garlic to the point that it impairs the flavors of the rest of the food. I would never have described the brussel sprouts as "pan fried", they were boiled and then hit a pan for like 30 seconds. One of the heavily salted items, between the texture and the salt, they were nearly inedible. One quick side rant - do restaurants not understand that we all have cell phones and can google the retail price of a bottle of wine? I'm not paying $10/glass for a wine that is $11/bottle (and probably not buying $11 wine anyway). Cut your prices in half and you'll actually sell so much more that you'll make up the profit in volume. Win-win. For a french menu, I didn't see a single french wine on the list. Hmmm Desserts sounded great, the only one we had was the creme brulee. The custard was perfect with a strong vanilla flavor and you could see the beans in it. The caramelized sugar was too thick. You should be able to crack it by tapping it with your spoon, not have to stab it to force it to break. Anything more than 1 mm is too thick. Getting all frenchie and metric on you. Still, a respectable place. I'd like to see a wider variety of herbs and spices used and tone down the the salt and garlic. This place has michelin potential, but is held back by Food Prep 101 mistakes.
