I am used to going to the IHOPS around Atlanta,ga. This location in meridian I have visited multiple times over 2017 in hopes that previous visits were just bad days for the staff. It really doesn't seem to be the case tho. Every time I have gone (wether it was morning,afternoon,or late at night) it has been slow with only one or two tables needing service. Yet the staff always act very mopey and like they don't want to bother doing anything. I think it is more of the atmosphere in the building. It feels very bland, with no music or excitement. I'm used to the IHOP's being full to capacity on a week night with all the servers welcoming people as they come in and walk by. The food is also incredibly subpar for what I am used to with IHOP. You can tell that no emotion is put into the creation. I have had the BLT twice, the bread was rock hard both times. I have ordered the strawberry and banana pancakes and they are decent. I dunno. I love IHOP in Georgia and this location makes me long to be back in Georgia. Giving it a 3 Star because I enjoy (other) IHOP(s) and I am glad to have something late at night as an option other than Waffle House here in this town. Edit. Oh yeah, I totally forgot that I went in there for my birthday gift of pancakes with a friend for fun back a few months ago. The server was very kind but didn't understand how the coupon worked. They went to get the manager and the manager spoke to me about it as he was walking by. He didn't even stop and talk to me about it. He told me that it had to be printed out. (Side note for ihop in general. What on earth is the point in a coupon sent to my email if I have to print it and can't just show it from my email. It didn't have a barcode on it.) My friend offered to just pay for the pancakes but the server was nice and went ahead and got me them and just comped them for me. So basically my review is more into the "2.5 Star" range. I've got to say this is the best iHop ever. Hubby and I had breakfast here this morning for the 3rd time we've been in the area this year and we were once again pleased with the tasty, well-prepared food and friendly, efficient servers. Mareo was our server today and I think he rates in the top 10% of any server we've ever had, no matter the cost of the meal. Thhe kitchen crew was also great today - my chicken and waffles were done to a turn, with the chicken crispy outside while tender and moist inside. Hubby had a poblano omelet which is a new fave - fire-roasted Poblano peppers, red bell peppers & onions, shredded beef, Jack & cheddar blend, fresh avocado, Poblano cream and spicy, chopped Serrano peppers. This, too was beautifully prepared - the filling tender, flavorful, and moist and the eggs firm but not dry. The hubby and I stopped here for breakfast, I've visited many IHOP but this one deserves a review. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess who was sincerely happy that we stop to dine. As we went in the restaurant was very clean, bathrooms were very clean also. The waiter set as quickly and took our drink order immediately. He came back and took our food order and it did not take that long to get our food. I had an omelette with bacon ham and cheese well then and it came with pancakes. The food was so good I could have eaten it all! I decided to only eat half of each our waiter probably brought our bill and took care of it from the table we did not even have to go up to the register. The restaurant is always clean, the hosts are always great, and I love how spacious the dining area is. However, the service is poor. We have waited on drinks for 15+ minutes, never got ONE refill, the server did not write down our order and messed up parts of it, and we asked for drinks twice that we never got. Stopped in here today for pancakes; never could get waited on. One or two servers strolling about, not really doing anything; certainly not greeting potential customers or taking orders. Oddly, the place was NOT packed, maybe about one-third of the tables/booths were occupied. Had eaten here three or four times before, and service was much faster even if the house was packed. We are a family of 6 so a little bit of a wait is expected. But an over 30 almost 40 minute wait for simple pancake meals in a non busy location was annoying. We've never waited that long at any IHOP ever. We inquired with our server on the status of the food at the 30 minute mark after seeing families that came after us get their food. Nonchalant response. When the food did come it was lukewarm. Steak had rested to the point of not being tender anymore and the pancakes didn't even melt the butter. When my husband requested a hot steak and eggs it was out within minutes! Why couldn't the rest of the food be received this way. Tried to place a to go order at 7:49 p.m. we were told they were closed. We said the website said you close at 8:00. She said yes but we shut the grill down because it has to cool off. We said so you close at 7:49? She said no we close at 8:00. So does that mean if we were sitting there eating at 8:00 you would make us leave? She said we have to let the grill cool down. Crazy! I found a hair in my pancake. The waiter was very apologetic and went to get his manager. The manager refused to come to our table or even acknowledge the problem. The waiter asked me if i wanted something else to eat and of course i didnt after finding the hair in my pancake. Then I was told by the waiter that the manager said since the pancakes came with my meal, a discount couldn't be given. Wanted to update my prior review because I think there might have been some room for misunderstanding. WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT!! I would go back in a heartbeat. I didn't give them 5 stars because of the "ick" factor--true enough, but heck, if you look behind/under/on top of the fridge at MY house, you're going to have an "ick" factor there too! The inside is clean though and so are my floors, counters and if I'm cooking, my hands too. We felt right at home. The point is, our food was great, but the service was even better. To start this review I want to say I have never in my life left a review to anywhere. I'm only leaving this so someone else doesn't have the same experience as me. At the end of 2018 my wife son and myself ate at this restaurant. The staff were fighting amongst themselves so bad in the kitchen we waited 30 minutes to get our order taken and another hour to get our food. We could hear them hollering from the dining room. Bad experience but we said oh well it probably was just a fluke. We were back in July. A cook got mad and walked out the kitchen yelling saying f*** y'all I quit. More drama. Horrible service again. Then last night December 27 me and three friends of mine walked in at 11:00. The only restaurant that was still open. As we walk in there's a crazy sitting by the door mumbling and jabbering. He says where all the white girls at let me holler at em. We ignore him and are seated. He then proceeds to our table and gets in our face yelling and cutting up mad at a friend of mine wearing a MAGA hat. He gets ran outside where he starts throwing rocks at the window. He walks off down the road then ten minutes later shows back up. Comes inside throwing brooms dust pans etc. he runs off again and we finally get our food. Horrible service again. So on March 1st me my wife and my son were traveling to Georgia we stopped and meridian Mississippi and it was 11:00 at night IHOP is the only thing open so we called it took a half hour of calling and hanging up calling and hanging up to finally some rude girl answers the phone and didn't even act like she wanted to be there we ordered our food she said he'd be done in 15 minutes my wife and son want to go pick it up as they walked into the IHOP there's not one customer in the building two of the only wait staff are sitting in a booth having a good old time doing nothing as the cook had to come out and greet them so my wife came back to the hotel with the food the food was so horrible both of the burgers were completely dry and well done the fries seemed like they were at least an hour and a half old so I would recommend not to go to the IHOP on the frontage road in meridian Mississippi I would rather go to McDonald's and choke and have diarrheaand then to add to it we never got a receipt and waited well past the 15 minutes as they told us we always have loved to go to IHOP in our hometown Tucson Arizona but do not ever eat at this IHOP read more
