I like this Waffle House a lot…read more It's my go to place for some food to actually eat after I have dined at Weidman's here in Meridian. That's a whole other story. My review for them is in jail. It was bad, I will admit, but I believe it will be set free in time. The last time I came here everything and everyone was great. I even got challenged to a race by a guy in Cadillac CT5-V who was just hanging in the parking lot. I could have taken him, but had been drinking that night. I mean, I was at a Waffle House. My server was fantastic. She knew a bunch of folks by their first names. It's like a hometown diner in here. Well.... I guess it is. It's clean in here. They cook stuff quickly. It's right and just tastes great. Dude on the grill is a bad ass. I've gotten quite fond of topped and covered hash browns. No where else in the current world that I know of where you can get a protein packed 3-4 oz add on for $.50! What?!?!? There is something great about Waffle House. I just love it. I wish I could own my own actually. '25 - 88/111

We both decided on the All Star Special, (classic waffle, bacon, toast, one with grits, the other with hash browns) and orange juice. The food was served pretty quick and everything was at the right temperature. I even had leftovers. We encountered a welcoming and helpful group of people. I would definitely return.

My parents and I stumbled across this place on our way home, and what a find it was. From the…read moremoment we stepped inside, we knew we were somewhere special. The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

My problem was with the off duty cop who was bullying patrons by showing them his hand cuffs when they were loud or taking too long to complete things like going to the bathroom or paying. The best part is that he actively threatened to call the on-duty cops. When my party did have the cops called on us, the on-duty cop APOLOGIZED for the unprofessional actions of the WaHo Security Bully. TL;DR Don't go to this WaHo late at night; not because of the patrons, food or service, but because of the Security Bully who is a total buzz kill ..... and apparently doesn't have anything better to do than get pissed off at people who like their lives more than he does.

The chicken meat was tasty, though a little salty and fresh cooked to order so that was a plus. Problem was with the unfriendly waitress, unfriendly cashier and cook. No smiling faces. No welcome to Waffle house, no friendly hello or thank you from the waitress, the cashier did manage to let out a lame "thank you". No manager was in sight. Ambiance - A locally owned gas store / deli, you can order a variety of FRIED food, both Surf or Turf, plates, family style or a la cart. The only fresh seafood they might have is Crawfish, when in seasoned. There are three or four small tables to seat and eat. I recommend as order as takeout. Service - the staff were fast and friendly. With a steady supply of locals coming through, they ready to take your order. The deli section is stocked with a lot of fried items so you can get your food quicker. However, I would recommend to get one of their PoBoy sandwiches. You won't go wrong. You may have to wait 5-10 minutes but it worth it. Food - 4 Stars Shrimp PoBoy combo w fries and drink. $13.99 I would have given it 5 stars but the fries were overcooked and too crunchy. The quality of the potato of the fries could be better too. The bread was fluffy and toasty just as it should be for a PoBoy! The amount of shrimp was overwhelming. See pictures. The sandwhich came w lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes. No mayo. I ordered the 8" combo meal but they have a 6" size, if you counting your calories because your cholesterol will still be high with the amount of fried food! Oh, I forgot, they have shrimp fried rice too. So get a side order! I forgot to order mine. Bummer. Enjoy
