We stopped by IHOP before going to a VA appointment. On arrival one of the front desk hostess Name keviah seat us down no warth greeting, no eating utensils. Her demeanor seems like she was just over it. Are waitress came over with a warm smile and greeting. Her name was Breonna P. very professional. She kept coming by asking if we was ok. Do we need anything. There was a group of four waiting on their food. When they got up and walked out this establishment had been waiting for their food after 30 minutes alendgely. There was a manager on site sitting in the back of this establishment looking around. This matter was brought to his attention by another employee because he kept looking towards my directions and then veirdback to conversation. The food portion was the size that you would give a toddler. The atmosphere altogether was not pleasant, warm feeling or engaging. They're overall score was at 93% posted on the wall. I placed an online order and selected a 12:00 PM pickup time. When I arrived, my order wasn't ready. At first, they couldn't even find it, and then I was told it still hadn't been prepared. I ended up waiting over 45 minutes past my scheduled pickup time. The service and communication were extremely disappointing. There was no clear explanation, no proactive updates, and no sense of urgency to fix the situation. If you offer online ordering with scheduled pickup times, you should at least communicate delays properly. Overall, a very frustrating experience. read more

I am absolutely APALLED by the service at this restaurant. I placed an order at 10:40 am. My order was supposed to be ready at 11:07. I arrived at 11:30. Despite the extra 23 minutes my food was not ready. We waited until 12:00 and then inquired about the food once more. The food was still not ready I waited an additional amount of time before asking to cancel my order. At this point i was completely and utterly ignored not once but twice. I asked another employee about canceling the order and they said something along the lines of "the manager has to do it but he's back there cooking right now". Again, I patiently waited. I ordered a Colorado omelette no shredded beef. The ingredients of this omelette are: bacon, sausage, ham, shredded beef, green peppers and onions. My omelette arrived with shredded beef, sausage and bacon all piled on top of the omelette! Inside was cheese and shredded beef! That's it! The pancakes tasted like they were cooked yesterday and reheated. I asked for utensils and condiments and received only syrup. I ordered pick up from Doordash on a Sunday afternoon, drove to the IHOP, and parked in the pick up spot. I called the number on the sign, to let them know I was there. The number didn't work. I sat there for 45 minutes, waiting for my food, and then got a text message saying that the restaurant had canceled my order. There was NO Explanation of why that was done. Needless to say, I was upset about that. My mouth was watering in anticipation of having my brunch, and then to be notified by a text message that I wasn't getting my order. As I was driving out of the parking lot, I saw a sign with instructions on how to order online. Excited to see that, I reordered the same. I got a text message telling me that my food would be ready in 20 to 30 minutes. One hour later, I went inside the store. I asked the Cashiers how long it would be for my order to be ready, and was told they had no idea. I explained that I was due at a meeting in 45 minutes, and that I needed to know. They said they couldn't help me, because they were busy. I gave them my name, and asked them to PLEASE ask the kitchen if my food would be done in time. The girl came back out of the kitchen, and said that the cook told her it would be ready "just shortly". She asked me to pull my car around to close to the front door, and said they would bring it out to me in just a few minutes. 40 minutes later, I went back inside to get my food. I was told they were very busy, and that they couldn't get it done in time. I told the girl to please just cancel my order. I was VERY upset about that, and was going to head to my meeting with my stomach growling. If the wasted 90 minutes and no food wasn't bad enough, I was told that I had to go online and cancel it myself. I had NO idea how to do that, and wasn't offered ANY help with how to do it. Much as I love the food at IHOP, I'll never darken the door of the Montgomery Alabama location again. I've been here many times over the years. The service has generally been terrible, although there are some times that service has been pretty good. The good quality has gotten pretty bad in 2017. The pancakes consistently don't look like IHOP pancakes. You never know what the eggs will look like. Tonight was my last visit. There were two other tables when I arrived. The host looked absolutely miserable and spoke to me as she was walking toward my table. I have no idea what she said but followed to a table. My server showed up promptly and took my order. She never spoke to me again. She never checked with me after the food arrived and never offered a refill. She slapped the check down on the table 10 minutes after I finished eating and ran off. After waiting about 10 more minutes to get cashed out, I walked up to the register. I finally got some attention and was cashed out by her. No apology for my wait or for lack of service in general. sunday afternoon rush, wait wasn't bad about 20 minutes. great communication from staff to costumers, informing us about what's going on, handling to-go orders getting those out the window, and that they'll be right with us. got seated- our waiter was a sweet girl , table was clean- nice to see the booths also getting wiped. i got the plant based power combo, i'd never realized they'd expanded their menu to be more inclusive but it's really appreciated. the plant based sausage pattie's smelled so good i had to double check with the waiter, then they tasted so good i had to have my grandma who eats meat to try them & confirmed they were plant based for my peace of mind- the best fauxsage i'd ever had & i like to try around. i didn't get my servers name unfortunately but she was great & just a reminder from being witness of a situation- costumers be nice to the people that serve you trying to help. servers don't get paid enough to deal with ignorance & they aren't servants to be degraded they still deserve human decency. everyone's just trying to make it the best way they can, how you treat others is a reflection of yourself. read more
