However, the facility gets zero stars; read my experience below On 6/18 I had an appointment to straighten out my Social Security card. It basically took me two days of calling to get this appointment .Once I got there, the guards were extremely rude asked me over and over again if I had an appointment. They asked me what the appointment was for they said well, we can't help you and we don't know why you're here. They wanted me out of there ASAP! I began to tell them that I spoke to someone on the phone and they were the ones who gave me the appointment for today! Anybody knows that you can't walk into the Social Security office and you have to make an appointment! I don't know why they think they're above the law. They're just rude. And they need to get over it. I would give this place a zero star, but that's not a choice. It wasn't until I got to the back and spoke to someone and he made me feel better. I'll give him a separate review, but for right now this place is getting a zero star Update: apparently I can't do two reviews, but Fernandez was amazing. He was so nice.

Second time I was there, I waited 3 hours and saw all the people that I was in line with that was behind me,go ahead of me and I was left. My number never showed up on the screen and No one called out my number. I made sure I was in front of the screen and didn't even go to the bathroom of fear of missing my number. Finally, I got up to ask one of the workers by the door and and asked how far I was in the que? He told me my number was called already! I said, NO, it was NOT. I told him I watched for 3 hours in front of the screen and I was never called. He called a supervisor man to come help and he, took my number ticket and I was told to go back and sit down. I waited and waited and the supervisor never came back to me. I asked where he went and was told he said he would come back. He never did. I finally saw the sweet lady supervisor and asked her to help. She finally assured me me that she would get my number called again and to listen for it. Another 1/2 hour and finally I was called and it only took 5 minutes with a case worker. Almost 4 hours in pain as I can't sit for too long, both legs go numb and buldging discs in my lower back and neck were throbbing. I can't stand for too long either. I have a ankle impingement, and plantars fasciitis in both feet and sciatica. It was a bad day for me to wait that long . I don't know why but they have done this to a few people that was there too and I was one of them. I over heard some of the workers complaining about customers and some being rude to customers who don't speak English so well and be condescending towards them and belittling them. Such rudeness should cease. The one women who is kind, and making sure everyone is being taken care of was the supervisor . She was very understanding, spoke kindly to everyone. I know you all see some crazy people up in there but, you should do your best to speak and talk kindly towards others. Get off your cell phones and always be ready with a kind face and be helpful. Thats the job you signed up for. If you continue to complaine, maybe you should look for another job. We need a system of people who want to help others.

In my opinion there are good, ok and bad parts of Gardena. Back in the day parts of Gardena that were well known for all the Asian foods and places. When growing up I would go to all these places like the Gardena Buddhist Church, Meiji Market in Pacific Square now known as Tokyo Central along all these other stores and places that used to be in the square. Along Redondo Beach Bl there were some good places as well. Lots has changed all over Gardena but still a great city. Oh also the Gardena PD and Fire are on top of things as well even my classmate and friend was the Chief of Police. Overall I still will recommend visiting Pacific Square and all the places around the surrounding area such as Tozai Plaza off Western Ave and Redondo Beach Bl. May 28, 2026 Well, it was that time to renew my CDL…read more Although I retired in 2024, I've maintained my license for 31 years and it's hard to have just a regular license. That last time I came here, the experience wasn't bad but not as good as my latest visit. It wasn't crowded and I didn't have an appointment. After checking in, my wait was maybe 10 minutes. I was called up, provided proof of residency, took mu picture and then completed testing (HazMat). I should receive my renewed license in approx. two weeks. Seamless process. If you have a commercial license, don't waste you time at a non-CDL DMV. There's only a handful of commercial DMV's in the state. Check the CA DMV website for a facility near you. It's worth it!
